Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Damian's expression turned from surprise to confusion. She's stepping into the lion's den and making things hard for him. Is she dumb or just pretending to be? And he couldn't take her to his realm now; it was too risky. "No, it's dangerous" he said.

Jasmine knew it was dangerous. But going back to the human realm was more dangerous. She couldn't do that; her father and stepmother must be scheming. She was aware that her attendance at the Extra-Natural Academy was also part of the scheme, but she decided to keep quiet.

After thinking for a while, she opened her mouth to speak. "Please, I can't go back to the human realm"

"Still, I won't let you go" he stood firm on his words. "It's the blood moon tonight"

"I know!" she replied with boldness. "Just put me in a secluded area; I'll be fine."

He shook his head. "Do you even understand the weight of what I'm saying? The blood moon! its too dangerous. I won't risk it." He couldn't let her die; Baxia still needed her.

Jasmine glanced outside; she had already spent too much time with Damien. They might soon come looking for her. "Meet me in the human realm. I'll follow the group back to prevent suspicion, and from there, you can take me to your realm." With that, she hurried to leave.

She wasn't sure yet if she could trust him or not, but she hoped he was trustworthy.

"No!" she could hear his voice from afar but chose to ignored it, making her way to the circle of departure.

Soon after, she arrived at the magic circle, where she spotted Ethan. The human guide. Robert, who was standing beside the circle, visibly irritated, greeted them. "You both are late again. You're the last two to leave. Do you know how long I've been waiting, all the other groups who waited for you became impatient and left"

Jasmine tried to defend herself. "I wasn't late last time; it was him."

Ethan smirked. "Last time doesn't count."

Robert threw up his hands. "Just get going already."

They both scoffed and stepped into the circle. Robert joined them, and the magic circle activated, teleporting them to the human realm.

As they materialized, she saw humans and their guardians rushing to greet eachother and exchange pleasantries. However, she was alone and had to make her way back home on her own – but she had no intention of going to the palace; she'll wait for damien.

Seconds passed, turning into minutes, and minutes turned into hours. It looked like the sun was about to set. At that moment, Jasmine's last hope dwindled, and she lost faith. If night fell, Damien wouldn't come for her again. How stupid of her to trust an untrustworthy demon.

Did she really have to go back to the palace? No, she couldn't, It would hurt her pride. But now she didn't have anywhere to go. She would just find a place to stay for the night.

Just as she was about to leave, Damien appeared before her.

"Let's go," he said urgently. "We do not have much time before night."

"B-But how did you find me?" she asked.

"Leave your questions for tomorrow," Damien replied. "We need to go now."

With that, he grasped her hand, and in the space of seconds, they already appeared in the demon realm.

It looked like they were in a room. Jasmine scanned the space, noticing she was in his chambers. But why? isn't everyone meant to be in their chambers, locked up to prevent chaos?

"Why am I in your chamber? I told you to keep me in a secluded area," she questioned.

"This is the safest place," he said, his voice calm yet urgent.

"Aren't you meant to be in your chamber? It can avoid chaos."

Suddenly, Damien began to laugh, making her worried. "Stay in our chambers? Who do you think we are? Look, Jasmine, we are demons. Trying to keep us locked up with a mere wooden door? That's impossible. We can always break through. We are vile beasts."

He paused, a crazy look on his face, his teeth biting the side of his perfect lips, and a smile plastered on his lip, which made her scared. He took a step closer, making her back away.

"W-What are you doing?" She stuttered, fear visible in her tone.

Damien didn't waver; he kept moving closer until she hit the wall. "What were you thinking, following a demon who is nothing but a stranger? You never even thought once if I had any ulterior motive," he said, his voice intimidating. Jasmine began to tremble and felt like she was in trouble.

Just as she was about to unsheathe her sword, he pulled away and smiled. "Well, it's night now. The chaos has begun. I can't stay for much longer." He paused. "If you know what's good for you, stay in here and don't come out. Don't even make a sound." He smirked and left.

When he left, Jasmine didn't know how to react. Scared? No, she couldn't be scared. They were just demons; she had her sword. Why would she be scared?

She sat on the bed and let out a loud sigh. Her mind wandered back to what Damien said. The words 'we can always break through' lingered in her mind. Was she starting to regret her decision? What was she thinking, eloping with a demon? Damien was right; he's a demon, a strange demon, in fact. She didn't even know if he had ulterior motives. She tried to calm herself down. This was her choice, and she had to go with it, no matter what.

Suddenly, she heard a roaring sound coming from outside the window. Her hand begun to tremble as she held her sword tight. She slowly walked to the window and looked down.

Her eyes widened in shock. "What are those?"
