The beginning

In a world filled with spiritual power and mighty cultivators, there lived a poor boy named Nei. Born into a humble family with no background, no talent, and no resources, Nei was considered ordinary—perhaps even less than that. He lived with his loving parents and his little brother, who looked up to him with innocent eyes full of hope.

Despite his lack of talent, Nei's heart burned with one desire—to protect his family. Day and night, he trained. Every free second was spent pushing his body and spirit to the limit, even when there was no improvement. People mocked him, and cultivators ignored him, calling him a waste of time. But Nei didn't care. His family worked hard, and he would too—no matter what it cost.

Then, one fateful day, a massive flood hit his village. As the waters raged near his house, Nei saw a small, injured beast struggling not to drown. Without hesitation, he rushed into the flood to save it. But the current was too strong. Both he and the beast were swept away.

When Nei woke up, he found himself lying in a vast, ancient jungle filled with dense mist and wild roars echoing from the depths. The air crackled with spiritual energy. This was no ordinary place—this was a mythical forest long forgotten by cultivators, a place where beasts spoke in riddles and the trees were older than kingdoms.

Beside him lay the very creature he tried to save—an injured, fox-like spirit beast with glowing eyes. Instead of attacking him, it stayed close. It had chosen him.

As Nei explored the jungle, something began to change. The energy in the forest resonated with him. Slowly, miraculously, his body absorbed the spiritual aura. The jungle, full of danger and ancient power, became his training ground. And the beast—whom he later named Ryuu—became his loyal companion and guide.

Under the guidance of nature and the trials of the jungle, Nei awakened something within himself that no one ever saw—not raw talent, but unyielding will. Where others sought shortcuts and treasures, Nei learned from pain, survival, and the bond he formed with Ryuu. He discovered ancient cultivation techniques, hidden not in books, but in the patterns of the stars, the whisper of rivers, and the roars of forgotten beasts.

This is how a nameless boy, mocked by many and abandoned by fate, began his journey.

This is the tale of Nei—the boy who had no power, no destiny, and no hope... but who defied it all.
