I'm lazy to wake up. My bones feel weak.
I been awake all night mining and collecting resources.
Thanks to my luck, I had met an over-confident dude with goggles on his head who had defeated an angry enderman which was about to end my life yesterday. He never told me his name but he gave an hint to head for the east so i could find to find 'people like me'.
I took it as a sign that he was mocking me about being broke like an npc but, it could also genuinely be a town full of survival players like me. His tone and speech made it difficult to assess his credibility, but I still tried to trust his advice and head for the east.
If it did end up being a normal village, I could stock up on some supplies or easily find shelter at night. And if it turned out to be an actual town full of players, then I can converse and work with other players like me to survive better.
It's a win-win situation for me either way.
There's nothing to lose. Besides, I want to find out where he lives. People like him are bound to work in clusters. There's no way that he is all alone. There must be high level players with him.
If i want to humble him, i need to level up my gear.
I've made a stone pickaxe, a stone sword, a furnace, a crafting table and some torches.
I left the furnace and took the crafting table and other tools with me. It's hard to carry, but I made it easy by hanging the tools on my belt on each side of my hips while having the crafting table and torches minimized as a block in my palms. I'll have to make do for the lack of inventory.
It also means that i have to build a solid base to store my resources as I couldn't move comfortably with more than a sword and probably armour on me.
This further proves my point, that rude guy must have a home nearby. There's no reason to only carry a sword and walk all the way here unless a player is taking a casual stroll from his base. He must be living around here, I know he has to be, there's no other reason for a player like him to be wandering so far way.
Could he be seeking out the endermen for collecting their ender pearl? I assumed he must also be searching for ingredients to brew potions.
The sky is clear with a few passing clouds like it always did; a perfect day to journey like any other. I climbed down from the hill top and proceeded to walk towards the east for the in hopes of finding a player town or, even a village. I walked as fast i could, ignoring the spiders being out in the open, and they didn't seem to attack me upon sight either. I guess that is because the early versions of minecraft had spiders acting hostile only at night time, and they would usually mind their business unless provoked with an attack by the player.
I couldn't see any creepers around. That's for the best because I can't move fast enough to get away with all these tools, weighing me down.
As i walked, i saw the lava pool in the distance. I marched forward endlessly until it's night again. I burrowed beneath the ground and used my torches to stay safe inside and out. I took out my sword. 'I have to find wool, I have to take it from the sheeps to make a bed. Only a bed can survive me for the night.'
I came across some sheeps, while walking on the way here.
I just need to trace my steps back and find them. I largely ignored the sheeps before because I thought that the town must be close to me.
My fault for being naive.
I placed the torches out and walked a few blocks back to an area where the sheeps had been.
'Nice, they're still here.'
But the skeletons, zombies and spiders are also wandering in that same place.
'I need to stay vigilant.'
I couldn't bring myself to slay the sheep; this is someone who had been hesitant to punch a tree so, i tried to get the wools shaving it by the the tip of my sword.
It was rough work, and the sheeps sometimes ran towards the mobs.
I've had to wait for them to get back. I don't want a fight with anything in my condition.
After a few tries, I finally managed to get wool worth 3 blocks. I didn't use the typical shave tool for the job as i did not have iron to craft it, but the sword did a good job as well.
This is impossible in the actual game because of the hit function directly tied to the sword's ability. Since, i'm living in this world.. i guess, there is lot of logic that works differently here.
I collected the wool and avoided the zombies who tried to follow me. They are more terrifying than the game version. The zombies have a pungent odour, their undying bodies always chasing to devour the next life source with no other purpose but to eat. They are truly scary monsters. But i was careful enought to not fall for them.
I knew they were approaching me because of the smell. I moved away quicker than they could catch up. I dropped in the temporary shelter on the ground and sealed up the entrance with cobblestones that i've got from mining here.
I've also carried some wooden planks from the hills and it came in handy for crafting my very own bed. It has white mattress, and there's no red bedsheet like the classic bed from the game. i wish it had that though but having only white wool makes sense since, that's the only color of wool i've used to craft. I made some space to place the bed, nearby the torches on the wall to sleep.
'Finally, a good night's sleep. I earned it.'
I tried thinking over everything that had happened over the past two days. I've thought about what i had been doing in real life before i spawned in this world.
'I used to be a shut-in. a real bum. i forgot the simple pleasantries of sleeping after a long day of work..' I had a glimpse of horrible memories that led me to hole up in my house for years. I didn't want to think or talk about it now.
...
'Fate gave me a second chance.. i'll use it wisely.. this is my new life.'
