Eyan Lucien Therald's Thoughts
I suppose… I should tell you my story.
I am Eyan Lucien Therald—
King of Velmoria.
Of my once-mighty bloodline, only two remain:
My father… and me.
What's so special about that?
You'll find out in time.
This story isn't about power.
Not entirely.
It's about her.
My whole life, I had one goal—
To become the greatest king this empire had ever seen.
At eighteen, I took the throne.
My father's health had withered, and the crown could wait no longer.
Since then, I've carried the weight of a kingdom on my shoulders.
Every decision. Every war. Every sleepless night.
I bore it all.
And truthfully…
Nothing ever truly interested me.
Not until I met her.
It was an ordinary day.
I was wandering through the market in disguise—
Just a man among the people.
Then I bumped into her.
One look, and my heart…
It stumbled.
I don't know if it was love at first sight,
But it was something dangerously close.
I offered her fruit.
We talked.
And I walked her home.
I thought that would be the end of it.
That I'd never see her again.
But something in me rebelled at the thought.
I followed her.
Secretly.
Made it seem like fate kept bringing us together.
Coincidences, she called them.
And then—months later—
She asked me to meet her at the Harvest Festival.
Said she wanted to talk about something.
As emperor, I had a duty to attend the festival's ceremony,
So I warned her—I might not make it.
But I couldn't stay away.
As soon as the festival ended, I ran.
Not as a king.
As a man desperate to see the girl who had become his world.
"Please don't leave. I'm coming."
I spotted her just in time.
She was about to walk away.
I called her name—
She turned.
I asked what she wanted to talk about.
And casually, without hesitation,
She looked me in the eye and asked,
"Would you marry me?"
I was speechless.
I had planned to ask her myself.
To get down on one knee, to make it memorable.
But she beat me to it.
And I said yes.
We got married.
Just the two of us, without grandeur.
And that…
That's how our story began.
