Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen: Town Upgrade

As the days flowed by, Arthur continued preparing for the incoming group of people—food, shelter, clothing, and all other necessities. He also checked in on Hohenheim's progress in creating familiars capable of mining iron.

After nearly three weeks of steady work, the first iron channel was established with the aid of those familiars. Soon after, the very first batch of iron bars was smelted, and with it, the city interface shifted once more:

...........................…..

................................

[Blacksmith Shop]

The heart of metalwork in town, Weapons, armor, and tools are forged here, ensuring soldiers are well-equipped and townsfolk enjoy reliable craftsmanship. (Enables advanced equipment and upgrades military gear.)

................................

[Stone Walls]

Thick fortifications encircle the settlement. More than simple defense, they project permanence and strength, turning a fragile outpost into a fortress that can withstand siege and monster attacks.

................................

[Fishery]

Constructed along rivers or coasts, this provides a steady supply of fresh food. Daily catches bolster stockpiles and reduce reliance on hunting or farming alone.

................................

[Shipyard]

Where vessels are crafted and maintained. From humble fishing boats to sturdy warships, the shipyard opens the way for naval trade, exploration, and seaborne warfare.

................................

[Lord's Manor (Small)](Tier 2)

A modest yet vital seat of authority, here the ruling lord governs, makes decisions, and symbolizes the unity of the settlement. Though small in scale, it strengthens administration and order.

................................

[Hall of Valor (Tier 2)]

"The seed of human order has begun to sprout in this world. The guiding beacon burns brighter, lighting the path for protectors who embody that order."

Upon completion, 2 additional summoning slots are granted as the light of human order grows. (Currently available slots: 1)

Note: The number and strength of summoned Heroic Spirits are directly tied to the Hall's tier. More slots will be unlocked through quests or significant exploration progress.

................................

[Town Square (Tier 2)]

The heart of civic life, upgraded to tier 2, it becomes a lively center for gatherings, festivals, and announcements. Morale rises, and the settlement begins to truly feel like a community.

................................

[Market]

A bustling hub of trade, stalls and merchants circulate local goods and exotic imports, boosting prosperity, tax income, and the variety of resources available to the people.

......................................

As Arthur looked at all the new parameters on the city management increase with new building options being added and the population increasing he felt an overwhelming feeling of pride and elation yet after reading two his mood sank a bit

First: in the game when the town upgrades Valhalla automatically upgrades to its next tier, while here he need to upgrade it manually but at least it gave him a summoning slot for now and he already has a caster class servant to summon in mind

Two: the gold, even though they haven't even touched the vein they already have 10000 coins and 50 kg of gold, which may seem like such a great thing to people but to him it reminded him of every time they found gold coins in unnatural places or the hole he fell into or the gold chunks that fell from the sky and almost gave him a concussion every time he got out and worse of all the fake gold don't let the 500 kg fool you it was heavier than that the familiars Hohenheim made used a lot of it if you look at it he has been crushed by almost a ton of fake gold when he tried to avoid getting a concussion every time he remembered all of this he got a splitting headache

But this doesn't matter anymore, so he began making plans what buildings should be done first, how to distribute the food, water, clothing and other necessities, and when Porucus finishes giving the people their homes and comes back with the survey he will assign jobs according to their skills.

..............................…

Multiple days have passed since the 4000 new residents came to the town; after almost nonstop work all preparations were done Arthur was finally free to look at his panel:

Name: Arthur (Lord, Master)

Innate Skills

Innate Skills: [Robust], [Iron Will], [Universal Tongue], [Gift of Wisdom], [******* Heir], [Golden Rule], [Draco Divinus Interfector], [The Fool's Delight], [Echo of Ruin], [Path Beyond the Journey's End], [Magic Affinity]

.............................

[Robust] (C Rank):

"Your physique transcends mortal limits. Resistant to most poisons and rare illnesses, your body can endure damage that would cripple lesser beings. Stamina and recovery far exceed an Age of Gods human of equal standing, granting you the vigor to push through even grueling campaigns."

..............................…

[Iron Will] (C Rank):

"Your mind is as unyielding as tempered steel. Fear, despair, and manipulation struggle to find purchase within you. Most mental debuffs are nullified outright, and even supernatural compulsion is greatly diminished. You may weather trauma and retain clarity where others would break."

...........................….

[Universal Tongue] (C Rank):

"You may speak and comprehend all languages under the domain of human order with near-perfect fluency. Written forms come almost instinctively, and you can now intuit meaning even from fragmentary or ancient texts. Your refined expression also lends weight to your words, subtly enhancing diplomacy and persuasion."

..............................

[Gift of Wisdom] (C Rank):

"Your intellect shines with extraordinary clarity. You grasp concepts far beyond normal human reach, assimilating new knowledge with startling efficiency. Complex theories, arts, and disciplines yield themselves quickly to your study, and your insight allows you to draw connections others would overlook."

.............................

[Magic Affinity] (C)"A natural closeness to magical energy. Prana flows more readily toward you, strengthening your magicraft and subtly enhancing spell stability. Grants the ability to perceive magical currents and react instinctively to them. While not overwhelming, it is a solid foundation for higher magicraft." ..............................

[Primordiality] (C++)(Can be Upgraded, State: Sealed)

"A fragment of the first dawn lingers within you, bound to the primal forces that shaped creation. Its full nature remains obscured, straining against the seal that binds it. Fragments of forgotten power seep through, whispering of beginnings and endings.###ERROR### Answer me, O fallen one, born from the first light. Do you still remember the promise buried in silence?"

..............................

[******* Heir] (A++)

"O children of humanity, born with golden ichor to strike down the ****** and claim their throne, render your final verdict. Yet among them you are perfect, too perfect to lose, for you are chosen (Your strength and agility moderately increase.)"

..............................

[Golden Rule] (B)

"The measure of one's fate regarding wealth, prosperity, and fortune, those who possess this skill are naturally blessed with abundance. Treasures, resources, and opportunities flow toward them as though guided by providence."

................................

[Draco Divinus Interfector] (EX)

"A unique Skill born not from legend but from deed: the absolute slaying of a true Divine Dragon, one that had once been revered as a god. By granting release to the corrupted spirit that had once safeguarded mankind, Arthur's act carved a new truth into the Throne.

At this rank, the concept of "slaying a dragon" transcends physical technique. It becomes a natural law inscribed into his being: blades, arrows, even improvised weapons in his hands carry an inherent, overwhelming advantage against draconic entities, be they beasts, phantasmal creatures, or divine incarnations.

Effect: Attacks against dragons and draconic beings gain overwhelming might, bypassing defenses and striking directly at their cores. The higher the target's divinity or draconic purity, the stronger the effect becomes.

Unique Trait: This Skill is irrevocably tied to the moment Arthur ended the corrupted Divine Spirit's suffering. Unlike inherited legends, it is proof of a personal deed, thus, no Heroic Spirit but Arthur may wield this exact manifestation.

Drawback: Bearing the mark of a dragon-slayer makes him a natural target of enmity. Entities tied to dragons, kin, worshippers, or those of draconic blood, will instinctively feel hostility toward him."

...........................…

[The Fool's Delight] (C)

"What is life without a joke? What is sanity without a crack? Laughter is a coin that never loses value, so spend it freely!"

(Settlers gain high morale and resist fear or despair. Strange events pop up at random, some blessings, some nuisances.)

...........................…..

[Echo of Ruin] (C Rank)

Whisper of the Distant Star

"All things end, yet you walk a moment further beneath a watching gaze."

(Your spells draw faintly on [Cosmic Entropy], veering into ruin, +5% spell power, -3% magic cost.)

Special Effect: Once per battle, if your health falls dangerously low, your body resists collapse for a brief moment, allowing you to act before falling.

................................

[Path Beyond the Journey's End](C Rank)

"The road does not end, it only bends. Those who walk it carry both their people's hopes and the weight of new horizons, for the fallen one has blessed you."

Effect (Arthur): +15% stamina recovery, +10% resistance to fatigue, and a chance to negate travel-related penalties (hunger, exhaustion, disorientation) during long journeys. Exploration actions personally led by Arthur yield double the usual knowledge or resources, Gain a slight boost to all attributes when exploring uncharted lands or confronting enemies never before encountered or helping those in peril.

Effect (Settlement): All units gain +5% movement speed. Expeditions consume fewer supplies and recover morale faster when returning home.

Special Effect: Each time Arthur discovers or pioneers a new location, he gains a temporary bonus to all stats.

..............................…

General Skills:

General Skills: [Swordsmanship], [Spear Mastery],[Archery]

[Swordsmanship] (D+):

"Your swordplay displays sharpened precision and fluidity. Roman techniques now blend with adaptive combat instinct, allowing you to transition between offense and defense with practiced ease. Though not yet at the height of mastery, your blade-work carries the weight of true battlefield skill."

...........................….

[Spear Mastery] (D):

"Competent in Roman spear techniques, both in formation and individual combat. You can maintain control of distance and pressure, though your application still lacks the finesse of higher mastery. Effective and reliable, yet with room to grow."

...........................….

[Archery] (D+):

"Your skill with the bow has reached a dependable level. Capable of consistent accuracy at medium range and maintaining steady volleys, you now possess the precision to contribute meaningfully in battle. While not yet a marksman, your shots carry discipline and reliability."

...........................…..

Noble phantasms:

[Caliburn] [Armor of the dragon] [Arcus Gaiae]

...........................…..

[Caliburn] (C → True B+):

"Sword of the Chosen King. The blade now answers you faintly, recognizing the path you walk. Its edge cuts more cleanly, its light shines with greater clarity, yet it still withholds its full glory. When its seal is undone, its radiance shall rival the mightiest of Noble Phantasms, befitting the sovereign it was forged to serve."

...........................…..

[Armor of the Dragon] (C):

"Armor wrought of dragon-forged essence. Its surface now shimmers faintly with scales unseen, granting durability beyond mortal craft. Though its full nature remains dormant, it shields the bearer with the steadfast will of the creature it was born from. At times, one may almost hear it whisper, a quiet vow of protection."

(Greatly reduces damage from physical attacks and offers limited resistance against elemental harm. Prolonged combat gradually stirs the armor's latent power, strengthening its protection the longer the battle endures)

...........................….

[Arcus Gaiae] (A+)(Upgradeable)

"A bow born from the very core of a primordial titan's power, forged to strike down the twisted and the profane, Once sealed away and reshaped into a humble cane, it has begun to reveal its true form in your hands. The bow echoes with living power, each shot resonating with the breath of the earth itself. Though its arrows may purify the corrupted, it recoils from those of pure heart, its justice bound to the balance of creation."

(Damage is tremendously increased against corrupted, chaotic, or evil-aligned entities. Successful strikes may partially seal or suppress their essence. Damage is greatly reduced against righteous or pure-aligned beings, as the bow refuses to harm those it was never meant to strike. Each arrow carries a fragment of primordial sealing power, leaving lingering wounds upon corruption that cannot heal easily.)

..............................

Physical stats:

Strength: 6.9 (C)

Endurance: 10(B-)

Agility: 6.2(C-)

"Magic: 4" (D)

As Arthur looked at his new panel he was dazzled compared to when he first came to this world he had gone a long way, now he could actually count as a mid-tier servant. While not the strongest he would still count as a respectable one. But he noticed 3 things

First his stats had increased quite a bit especially endurance and his noble phantasms had risen in rank finally making him significantly stronger

Second the blessing he was hoping for had indeed upgraded, he could feel the destructive energy become calmer. Now he might actually be able to use normal spells at last

Third Primordiality's level had increased and a new message appeared about remembering a promise buried in silence, what promise like always with this skill he did not know and since it was still sealed he decided not to worry about it for now

Even if this world had truly powerful opponents he could still fight and hold his own, and he was more than satisfied with that. But now he would prepare for the servant summoning tonight

...........................….

The circle flared, runes burning white against the stone floor. Mana churned like mist, condensing into shape. A tall figure emerged, draped in layered robes, his face hidden by a mask of porcelain and shadow. The air grew heavy, not from menace, but from the quiet weight of thought

"You have called me. I am Caster Solomon ibn Gabirol or Avicebron. My craft lies not in destruction but in creation. If it is structures you seek if it is golems you require then I will provide them"

Arthur narrowed his eyes studying him. The man did not carry himself as a warrior. His bearing was that of a scholar a builder. But that alone was no weakness if anything it was exactly what Arthur's camp lacked after all the man was a caster he didn't need a warrior's temperament

Arthur exhaled slowly. Hohenheim gave the camp knowledge but knowledge alone did not move stone. Soldiers could defend the walls but they could not build them higher nor strengthen their foundation. What they needed was permanence. A hand that could craft defenses as enduring as Roman brick

Avicebron's voice was even but behind the mask there was a faint tension a remnant of the obsession that had guided his life. Yet Arthur recalled him in fgo the record of another war. Avicebron who once sought only to build his perfect golem yet in the end sacrificed that dream. He gave up Adam his greatest creation not for himself but to save the lives of others

It was not the deed of a selfish man but of a creator who at last chose compassion over obsession

Arthur nodded. "Then you will be our companion here. Not as a warrior but as the hand that gives the warrior a fortress to rest in"

The masked figure inclined his head.

"Command me and I shall shape stone and earth to shield your people. My hands will not falter"

The light of the circle dimmed leaving silence. Another piece of the settlement had fallen into place
