Chapter 8 - At the Doorstep of a New Beginning

The morning was quiet in Emma's family home in Rome, but inside her heart, a storm was brewing.

Emma—the famous singer known across the continent—sat in her room, staring out the large window overlooking the streets of Rome. Despite all the success she had achieved, something still weighed heavily on her heart.

Isabelle: (with a gentle smile) "Emma, sweetheart, I've prepared breakfast for you. Come down before it gets cold."

Emma: (turning with a faint smile) "Thanks, Mom. I'll be down in a minute."

But that minute didn't come quickly. She stayed seated, holding a small notebook in her hands, writing the lyrics of a new song.

Her brother Jacob entered the room without knocking, as usual.

Jacob: (cheerfully) "Emma! You really think you've got time for poetry when we've got a concert to prepare for?"

Emma: (with a soft sigh) "Jacob, I know. I just need a moment to myself."

Jacob: (sitting beside her) "What's going on? You seem... different today."

Emma: (quietly) "It's nothing. Just a strange feeling... like something big is about to happen."

Jacob: (chuckling) "You always get like this before a big show. And it always ends in a standing ovation."

Just then, their father Edward walked in holding a cup of coffee.

Edward: "Emma, Jacob, we need to talk about the upcoming tour schedule."

Emma: (hesitantly) "Can we postpone it a bit? I need time to think."

Edward: (looking at her seriously) "Emma, is everything okay?"

Emma: "I'm fine, Dad. I just... I want to change something in my life."

Isabelle: (calling out from a distance) "Emma, life won't wait for you to change it. Make your decision and live it fully."

Emma: (softly) "Maybe... I need something new. Something away from the spotlight, away from this madness."

Jacob: (raising an eyebrow) "You want to walk away from singing? Impossible! That's all you ever wanted."

Emma: (sighing) "No, not singing. I love it. But it's become a burden... Like I'm living a life that isn't truly mine."

Edward: (setting the cup down and sitting beside her) "Emma, we're here to support you. But if you're running from something, make sure you know where you're headed."

Emma: (voice trembling) "I don't know, Dad. All I know is that I feel like I'm suffocating."

Isabelle: (entering the room softly) "Emma, sometimes we need to step away to truly understand what we want. Maybe take a short break? A week, a month? Somewhere new to refresh your soul."

Emma: (smiling faintly) "Mom, that's exactly what I've been thinking. I need to travel... to be alone for a while."

Jacob: (worried) "Is this your final decision?"

Emma: (firmly) "Yes. I want to explore the world on my own, away from the pressure and the schedules."

Edward: (with a sigh) "If you're sure, then we're behind you."

Isabelle: "But where are you planning to go?"

Emma: (with a small smile) "London... I want to see what life is like there."

At a café in London, Victor was working behind the counter, wiping tables and chatting with customers with his usual smile.

Though he had begun to adjust to life in London, his heart was always busy with thoughts: How is my family now? Do they miss me as much as I miss them?

While he was focused on his work, his friend Mike walked in.

Mike: "Victor, done with your classes today?"

Victor: (wiping the table) "Yeah, and they were exhausting as usual. I think I need a break from all this."

Mike: "I know a great place we can check out after your shift. It'll be fun."

Victor: (smiling) "Sounds good. Just don't forget I'm still new here—I don't know all the places yet."
