Chapter 1:The tenant
When mira rented the old apartment on baker street,the landlord warned her about the thing:"Never open the last door at night".
At first,she thought it was a joke.The place was cheap,the room s spacious,and the last door in the hallway didnt even have a handle just a solid black surface,smooth as stone.she assumed it was sealed storage.
The first night,she heard scratching.it was faint at first,like nails dragging across wood.but by midnight,it grew louder-closer.when she pressed her ear to the black door,the scratching stopped...followed by a slow,deliberate knock from the other side.
Mira stepped back,heart pounding.the air around the door was cold,colder than the rest of the apartment,and she swore she saw it...breathe,The black surface rippled as it something behind it shifted.
The second night,she woke to find the door open-just a crack-and darkness thicker than any shadow spilling into the hallway.There were no corbers inside,no walls,no enf.just...a void.
Something moved within it.something tall.something smiling.
The smile didn't have lips.
