The next morning, Alice woke up early, starting her day with her usual routine. She began by preparing breakfast for her kids, Jackson and Emily, before they left for school. She made them their favorite pancakes with scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. She packed their lunches, carefully selecting their favorite sandwiches, carrot sticks, and apples.
Once breakfast was ready, Alice woke the kids up, getting them ready for school. they ate their breakfast and soon got ready for school. They attended Oakdale Public School, a decent institution that provided a good education despite its limited resources. Alice made sure they were dressed in their uniforms, backpacks loaded with the necessary books and supplies.
Brenda, Alice's best friend and colleague, left the house, and together they escorted the kids to school. After dropping them off, they headed to work at Bistro Bliss, a cozy restaurant in the heart of the city.
As they arrived at the restaurant, their boss, Joe, greeted them with infectious enthusiasm. "Today's the day, ladies! We've got a special visit from the richest and youngest billionaires in town. They'll be dining with us, and I want everything to be perfect!" Brenda and Alice exchanged excited glances, squealing in unison.
The morning passed quickly, with the staff bustling about, preparing for the special guests. At around 1 pm, the door swung open, and Diego, Leo, and Steve walked in, exuding confidence and authority. The diner's patrons couldn't help but stare, mesmerized by the trio's charisma.
Brenda and Joe exchanged a knowing glance, and Joe nodded discreetly. "Alice, would you please take care of our special guests?" Alice smiled, smoothing her apron, and made her way to their table.
As she approached, Steve and Leo greeted her warmly, ordering their meals with ease. However, Diego remained silent, his eyes fixed on the menu. Alice asked him for his order, but he ignored her, his expression unreadable. She asked again, her tone polite but firm, and still, he didn't respond.
Alice's patience began to wear thin. She asked for the third time, her voice laced with a hint of annoyance and slammed her hand on the table, and Diego finally looked up, his eyes locking onto hers. "Do you know who you're talking to?" he asked, his tone dripping with condescension. "Where are your manners, you bitch?"
Alice's eyes flashed with anger, but she maintained her composure. "Oh, didn't your father tell you who you were you proud brute?" she retorted, her voice filled with raging tone. "If you want to order something, do so. If not, leave." Leo quickly intervened, ordering Diego's meal with a request for coffee.
Alice's anger simmered just below the surface as she took their orders and left. Joe and Brenda exchanged a knowing glance; they were well aware of Alice's temper when provoked.
A few minutes later, Alice returned to serve them, her movements brisk and efficient. As she poured the coffee, Diego complained that it was too sugary. Brenda apologized, her tone laced with sarcasm, and offered to replace it.
However, Diego had other plans. He called Alice over again, this time complaining that the coffee was too hot. Alice's anger boiled over, and in a split second, she poured the scalding coffee all over Diego's expensive suit.
The diner's patrons gasped in shock, their eyes fixed on the unfolding drama. Diego's face turned beet red with rage, while Alice stood tall, her eyes flashing with defiance.
Diego stood tall, his 6'2" frame towering over Alice's 5'6" stature. His cold, piercing eyes bore into hers, but Alice didn't flinch. She stood her ground, her eyes flashing with defiance.
"What, you want to beat me?" Alice sneered, her voice dripping with contempt. "Well, I'm not surprised. You brutes always beat women who bruise your ego." Diego's expression turned icy, his jaw clenched in anger.
"You're lucky I don't beat women," he growled, his voice low and menacing. Just then, he caught sight of a college student, her phone raised, ready to capture the drama unfolding before her. Diego's eyes narrowed, his voice thundering with authority.
"If I see any post about this tonight, I swear you'll regret your existence on earth." The student's eyes widened, and she quickly lowered her phone, scurrying away in fear.
Diego turned back to Alice, his eyes blazing with fury. But before he could say another word, Leo intervened, his voice calm and soothing.
"Diego, let's just leave. We're not going to eat our food, and we've already made a scene." Diego's face twisted in anger, but he nodded curtly, tossing a wad of cash on the table.
The three men stormed out of the diner, leaving behind a trail of stunned patrons. As soon as they were gone, the diner erupted into a flurry of whispers and murmurs.
One of the patrons, an elderly man, spoke up, his voice filled with awe. "Did you know who those guys were? They're the world's richest men – Diego, Leo, and Steve!" The diner's patrons looked at each other, their eyes wide with wonder.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Alice was venting her frustration to Joe and Brenda. "I should have poured him a vat of boiling water to burn his skin!" she exclaimed, her eyes flashing with anger.
"Ah, he's too proud for my liking, and full of himself. I feel like strangling him!" Brenda and Joe exchanged a worried glance, trying to calm Alice down.
"Alice, honey, you need to calm down. You just offended a very powerful man," Joe said, his voice gentle but firm. Alice scoffed, her expression unrepentant.
"To hell with him! He offended a single mom, even if he didn't know it." Brenda placed a soothing hand on Alice's shoulder.
"Let's just forget about it, okay? It's not worth losing your job over." Alice nodded, taking a deep breath as she tried to calm down.
On the other side of town, Diego, Leo, and Steve had arrived at their private lounge, located in the luxurious Golden Suites Hotel. Diego was still seething with anger, his ego bruised and battered.
Leo, ever the voice of reason, tried to calm him down. "Diego, you were at fault. The girl was just standing up for herself. I think she did the right thing." Diego scoffed, his expression incredulous.
"For making me lose my ego today, she's going to pay dearly. This is just the beginning of her nightmare." Steve raised an eyebrow, his expression concerned.
"Diego, don't do anything rash. You're not thinking clearly." But Diego just smiled, a cold, calculating smile that sent shivers down Steve's spine.
"Oh, I'm thinking very clearly, my friend. And soon, that girl will know the true meaning of power."
Just as Diego's smile was about to curdle into a snarl, James, his personal assistant, rushed into the lounge, looking frazzled
"Boss, Elder Montago is on the phone," he announced, holding out the device.
Diego's expression changed in an instant, his anger forgotten in the face of his grandfather's summons. He took the phone from James, answering curtly.
"Hello grandfather?" Diego said, his deep voice firm.
"Diego, it's Grandfather Giovanni," the voice on the other end said, warm and familiar. "I trust you're doing well?"
"Yes, Grandfather," Diego replied, his tone respectful.
"I'm sending Alex and Sophia back home. They've been with me for two years now, and it's time they returned to their lives," Giovanni announced.
Diego's curiosity was piqued. "What about you, Grandfather? When are you coming back?" Giovanni chuckled.
"I'll be joining them soon, but not just yet. And by the time I get back, I expect you to have found a nice lady to settle down with. You're not getting any younger, Diego."
Diego felt a flush rise to his cheeks. His grandfather's words were laced with a hint of teasing, but also a serious expectation.
"Yes, Grandfather," Diego replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
"Good," Giovanni said. "I'm counting on you, Diego. Don't disappoint me."
The line went dead, and Diego was left staring at the phone, his mind reeling with the implications of his grandfather's words.
