"What will you do then? Kill me? Just like your father killed my brother, Nolan?" Several wolves sucked in sharp breaths.
Kade's entire body went rigid. For a heartbeat, May thought he might actually strike John—right here, in front of everyone.
"What the hell is going on here?" Lucas's voice cut through the tension. The Alpha strode forward, every step radiating dominance so thick that several wolves lowered their heads instinctively. Beside him, Ava was a vision of controlled elegance, her hand resting lightly on her mate's arm, her sharp eyes scanning the scene.
"Nothing, Alpha," Kade said quickly, his body bowing slightly with the respect due. He didn't want to drag Lucas into this petty mess.
