"You should return it."
Athena blinked at Gina. "Return it? Why would I do that?"
"Because nothing comes for free," Gina said firmly. "Not from an Alpha, not from him. You don't know what he expects in return."
Sarah frowned at her. "Why must you always see the dark side of everything? It's just a gift."
Gina's stare didn't waver. "No Alpha gives anything without purpose. Especially Alpha Kraven."
Athena's fingers tightened around the phone, her brows knitting. "Well, purpose or not, I need it. A phone is a necessity here. Something Xavier clearly doesn't understand or maybe doesn't care to. At least Kraven thought about it."
The sharpness in her voice caught Sarah off guard. Even Gina looked momentarily stunned.
Athena drew in a breath, steadying herself, then added, "So, I'll keep the gift. Gladly."
She turned away from them, running her thumb across the smooth glass as if sealing her decision, while Gina's gaze burned into her back like a storm waiting to break.
