Kraven leaned closer, his voice low, almost teasing. "Nothing comes for free. So, you owe me. And I'll be collecting tomorrow."
Athena slumped back against the seat, internally groaning. Why didn't I think before taking his money? I should have known… Kraven Thorne never gives without taking more in return.

Athena's jaw clenched. "I don't owe you anything, Kraven. I never asked you to pay. That was Sarah's doing."
From the corner, Sarah flinched, but Kraven didn't even glance at her. His gaze stayed locked on Athena like a hunter pinning prey. "And yet… who benefitted?" he drawled. "Whose colleagues dined like kings tonight?"
Athena's fingers curled into fists in her lap. "I didn't ask for it. You can't just buy things and then hold them over people's heads."
