Chapter 1 - Escaping

To be fair, I did not mean to punch Lord Ravager Celenova in the face.

It was an impulse- one that was very hard to ignore- and I gave in, because if she decided to blast a civilian ship getting ready to leave the star system, it would mean I live everyday knowing I let those innocent people die. It wouldn't let me sleep, but it would also mean I would be exposed.

There was a regret to that punch of course, Lord Celenova was beautiful, and hitting her face with my fist would mean seeing that pretty face wrinkle in agony.

So, when I realized I had exposed myself, seeing the Lord Ravager backed up on the rail bridge while her hand on her face, I immediately bolted out the hallway.

It wasn't long before I heard a yelling and an alarm resounding in the entire hallways, it was incredibly terrifying when I saw Eliminators at the end.

Their guns pointed at me as lights filled the corridor, anti matter beams passing beside me as I latched on the side wall, running there as I extended my hand to the side. Summoning my golden mixed violet blade, with stars twinkling inside it, I dashed, slicing the first Eliminator's head as it fell to the ground.

The one thing that ranged troops always had disadvantage was against people who knew how to use a blade, worst case scenario it was someone who had already breached your lines.

The two remaining Eliminators tried to fire at me, I dodged before a beam could hit my leg and shifted my gravity to the left wall, shots followed frantically as I leaped for another slice.

Another head fell, and the last one aimed at me. It fired, I felt a terrible and searing pain in my chest as I crash into the wall, I heard the Eliminator grunt, readying for another shot as I pushed the pain away.

The alarms haven't stopped, and when I twisted my blade in the Eliminator's shoulder, separating his arm that aimed the gun, it cried out a distorted sound.

I was too fast for it to aim at me, so I finished him with another slice in the neck before running off to the docking area of the ship.

It wasn't long before I passed another intersection that a voice echoed in the hallways coming from the speakers.

"Who are you?" A voice said softly and yet carried a weight that felt like it would crush me, "You're obviously not using illusions... But something else. Interesting."

In the next hallway, extending to a futuristic looking double door at the end with dark windows in the center, reavers and distorters came rushing in. Just my luck, and turning back was no longer an option because I have a feeling a larger force would meet me there.

And I didn't want to die, and Celenova probably wanted to check how a reaver managed to avoid losing his mind to insanity, that was something I would not welcome.

A squad of reavers came forward, the first one struck as another leaped for the other side, I shifted backward. Grabbing the blade of the first towards me, which was a hard thing to execute, then swung my right arm as the side blade appeared in my arm, splitting the reaver in half as they dissipated on the floor.

Then I screamed, a blade pierced in my chest- luckily I wasn't human- it hurts so badly it felt like my entire soul was being severed, so I leaned back and head butt him.

We both stepped back disoriented, my chest had a nasty hole and burnt marks, it seared through my brain and how it still hurts baffled me.

The reaver struck, this time I dodged and shifted my gravity to the wall. A modified baryon was helping me shift my gravity, and from my perspective the enemies were the ones on the side wall not me.

I had strapped the small baryon on my back, though it stuck out like a ball, no one would hit that unless I allowed them to.

The reaver was too late to react as I slammed my blade on his back, slicing the poor thing as it disappeared into pieces of dark boxes.

Now only four remained, two reavers and two distorters that approached me. An exasperated sighed escaped my voice and immediately the distorters ordered for the two reavers to launch at me together.

Bad mistake, I shifted back to the normal floor, my feet sticking back and hands up, as they directly flew towards the blades, piercing their heads and they crashed together behind me.

And to my surprise, the distorters retreated, a relief on me. The blades in my arm disappeared into pixels and I continued forward.

I entered a new threshold, light bursting from the doors as sounds of footsteps floated to my ears; Voidrangers going back and forth in a mechanical way as they boarded interceptor spacecrafts, others were transport vehicles meant to bring the troops beyond the shield and impenetrate it.

Celenova was the most ordered and harmonic Lord Ravager in the Legion, this is why the IPC was ordering almost all the attack ships to target this blitzship I'm order to stop her from coordinating a devastating attacks.

I hung on tightly to a container nearby that was attached on the floor as a huge earthquake rattled the ship. The IPC was getting relentless, explosions thudded on the hull of the ship as more followed after. They were bombing it slowly, the shield likely weakened already.

I frantically moved through the crowds of Voidrangers, pushing aside the ones in my path and hurried to find an unoccupied Type-V borehole ship, meant as a reconnaissance ship.

Here, I found one that was about to be boarded by a different type of distorter, these ones had more intelligence but never consciousness. I climbed eagerly on the ladder, then summoned my blade and sliced his feet. The distorter cried as it slipped from the ladder, I pointed my blade up, it's back pierced as the body went limp and disappeared into pixels.

The entire docking area was shaking, I saw tramplers scrambling to a transport ship as reavers got crushed under their legs. Ships leaving out in the huge open gate to the bottom, revealing the vast space.

I closed the hatch, the Type-V borehole ship was a small and had a sleek and curved designed. An idiot would never understand the controls of the ship, and unfortunately I was one.

"I'm so cooked," I said, "how does this thing fly? Oh, that red button should do..."

The ship flashed red inside, that was not a good sign so I pressed it again and it stopped. The entire dock was slowly getting empty, ships flying away as they evacuated, hard to believe even Celenova would spare few numbers.

Impatient and desperate, I pressed a black button and then the entire ship's engine roared behind me, I wish I could smile right now to show how much I was happy. Alas, I could not.

"Okay so... This wheel should work right and oooOOH!"

The wheel worked flexibly as I could rotate it and even crank it up and down. From someone's angle, the ship was swaying slightly left and when I aimed right, it did swayed slightly right.

"Here we go baby!"

Controlling the ship with little experience other than driving a transport ship, I navigated the small vessel outside the dock and entered a more dangerous area, ships exploded and debris around me as two ships flew overhead, a borehole interceptor chasing an IPC.

Scrambling to find a button similar to hyperspace in star wars, a star logo in the center of a square button was present on the right side. I pressed it, and then my view changed from debris and ships flying, to a twisting black and white vortex.

"I... I ESCAPED!" I exclaimed, hands on wheels as I dreamed of finally getting to a secluded area in a random planet slowly becoming a reality.
