Kaelen carefully lifted the unconscious Selianne into his arms, her breathing soft and steady. With steady steps, he led the group back down the long staircase toward the chamber where the Magisteel Golem had fallen.
The cold air still lingered from his earlier ice magic, and flecks of shattered metal decorated the stone floor like frost.
Kaelen gently set Selianne against the wall, then sat beside her. Lyra and Alaric joined him, while Ramiris flitted about, animatedly explaining evolution stages, spirit contracts, and spiritual energy flows in her usual chaotic style.
Kaelen only half-listened.
He mentally commanded:
"System, show the shortened versions of my new skill descriptions."
A soft chime answered.
[ Flame Manipulation — Control and reshape all existing flames at will.
• Flame Transformation — Convert magicules into instantly generated flames.
• Primordial Flame — Origin fire that burns matter, energy, and concepts.
• Frost Manipulation — Command and shape cold, frost, and ice.
• Frost Transformation — Create extreme cold or ice from magicules.
• Glacier Formation — Form massive, near-indestructible ice structures.
• Primordial Ice — Absolute origin ice capable of freezing concepts.
• Dimensional Leap — Travel to other worlds and universes.
• Space Domination — Absolute control over spatial phenomena.
• Space Bend — Distort space to redirect, twist, or shield.
• Dimensional Sight — Perceive hidden layers and distortions in space.]
Kaelen exhaled slowly.
Flames from creation itself… that's the same primordial fire Rimuru bathed in when he awakened his divinity.
His temples throbbed suddenly.
A sharp pain lanced through his head.
Wait…
Some memories—are missing? How—
"Hey!" Lyra snapped her fingers in front of him, startling him. "Are you okay?? You're sweating like crazy!"
Only then did Kaelen realize his clothes were soaked.
He forced a small breath.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry about it. Did you recover your magicules?"
"Not fully," Lyra chirped, bright as ever. "But I got two unique skills! Once I'm topped up, I'll show you!"
Without waiting for his response, she bounded away like an excited child.
Kaelen sighed internally.
Are we absolutely sure I'm the younger sibling here?
He leaned back, letting himself relax—until a thought struck him.
"Founder."
Instantly, a calm, ancient voice echoed within his mind.『Yes, Master?』
"That… crystal. What was it called… Crystal of Aether Genesis? We still have it, right?"
『Affirmative. A crystallized core of pure creational energy.』
Kaelen searched his Dimensional Storage mentally—
—found it—
—and reached out.
A prism of flawless clarity materialized in his hand.
Immediately, the room shifted.
Light refracted not outward, but inward, forming swirling galaxies trapped within the crystal. A golden nebula churned in its core, birthing and collapsing stars in eternal rhythm. A gentle warmth pulsed through Kaelen's palm, humming deep in his soul.
And the aura…
A gentle yet vast pressure filled the chamber.
Not violent—
But so absolute it weighed on everyone except Kaelen and Ramiris.
Ramiris blurred toward him instantly.
"KAELEN—! Where did you get THAT?!" she shouted, eyes wide. "That's pure creational energy condensed!"
Lyra blinked. "Creational… energy?"
Ramiris nodded gravely.
"Yes. The universe itself was formed using Turn Null. Creational and destructive forces in perfect harmony. That crystal holds a piece of that power. Only one being was ever supposed to use it…"
Her eyes narrowed.
"…Veldanava. The Creator."
Lyra froze at the revelation. Even Alaric stiffened.
Kaelen, meanwhile, quietly mused:
Well… Rimuru and his top subordinates end up using it too.
He began absorbing the energy without hesitation.
As the golden nebula's power flowed into him, the crystal slowly dimmed—
—until a soft ding~ chimed inside his skull.
A system window unfolded before him.
[Skills Unsealed
• Material Transmutation
• Energy Transmutation]
Kaelen smirked.
"So I finally have creation type abilities in my arsenal."
But then he noticed something.
"…Unsealed? Not acquired."
He frowned.
The system had never used that phrasing before.
Even computeristic skills make mistakes, I guess…
He filed the thought away for later. Now wasn't the time.
He pushed off the ground, approached Lyra, and tapped her shoulder.
"So," he asked, "gonna demonstrate your new skills now?"
Lyra nearly bounced in place.
"You bet I am!"
