Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Bibi Dong Has Already Gone Mad

In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.

During this period, a major event shook the Spirit Hall. Yun Chuan overheard the nanny taking care of him murmuring to herself and learned that the current Supreme Pontiff, Qian Xunji, had died from his grievous injuries.

Of course, having seen the original Soul Land series, Yun Chuan knew this wasn't the real story. Qian Xunji didn't simply die from injuries inflicted by Yun Chuan's so-called "cheap old man"—no, he was brutally murdered by none other than Bibi Dong, the current Holy Maiden of Spirit Hall. She hadn't just killed him—she devoured his soul entirely! That kind of hate… was bone-deep.

But honestly? Qian Xunji deserved everything that happened to him.

What kind of monstrous teacher sexually assaults his own disciple—Bibi Dong, no less—and forces her to bear his child? And then, just in case she tried to take her own life, he even threatened her using Yu Xiaogang, the man she loved. Trapped and helpless, Bibi Dong had no choice but to submit… but the fire of vengeance in her heart never went out. It simply bided its time, waiting for the perfect moment to explode.

So yes—Qian Xunji met the fate he wrought. As far as Yun Chuan was concerned, letting him die that easily was way too merciful.

'Scum like him should've been castrated and tossed into a den of men for a slow, unspeakable end…'

That scumbag's swift death? A complete waste of good revenge.

Since then, Yun Chuan had spent his days faithfully playing the role of an ordinary baby: cry when hungry, scream when wet—no signs of abnormal intelligence whatsoever. After all, strange behavior breeds suspicion. In ancient China, a baby acting too mature might be considered possessed by an evil spirit, and end up drowned in a chamber pot.

Yun Chuan had read plenty of transmigration novels where protagonists were reincarnated as infants—yet he could never understand those who started showing off intelligence the moment they were born. Some could even call out "Mom" and "Dad" within minutes of delivery! Who the hell would actually believe that?!

Even crazier, the adults in those stories didn't bat an eye. As if being born a genius was perfectly normal. What happened to common sense?

Typical protagonist plot armor. Screw logic, huh?

So Yun Chuan, a proud realist with zero protagonist halo, chose to keep a low profile. He just lived peacefully as a baby—crying, crawling, pooping—all very age-appropriate. Another half-month slipped by like this.

Now a month old, and perhaps due to exceptional natural talent, Yun Chuan's skeletal development had already progressed to the point where physical movement was no longer a challenge. After lying down for weeks, he finally began to explore the nursery floor, crawling around noisily. His nanny watched him nearby, face full of loving indulgence.

That was until… a surprise guest arrived.

The door creaked open from the outside—gently.

A graceful figure in a lavish long dress stepped elegantly into the room.

Yun Chuan, who happened to be crawling toward the doorway, didn't even notice her arrival—until bam!—his little head smacked directly into the stranger's long, smooth, jade-like legs.

"Smack!"

The sharp pain sent stars spinning in his vision. His tiny head buzzed like a gong, and the world around him started to tilt. He was about to fall backward flat onto the floor—when, just in time, a warm, gentle force surged around him, softly wrapping up his tiny form and lifting him off the ground.

He landed safely in someone's fragrant embrace.

A soft, sweet feminine scent filled his nose—accompanied by a faint, milky aroma that betrayed the identity of its source: she was a lactating woman. 'Did Spirit Hall bring in another wet nurse for me?'

The dizziness slowly faded.

And then Yun Chuan saw her face… and his mind went completely blank.

'She's… beautiful.'

It was the only thought that came to mind.

He'd never seen such a breathtakingly beautiful woman before. Her features were exquisitely refined—so perfect, they felt almost divine. She radiated otherworldly elegance and unmatched nobility, like someone who had walked straight out of a dream or a painting. Unreachable. Unreal.

"So this is the child the former Supreme Pontiff brought back?" Bibi Dong looked down at the baby in her arms—his big, dewy eyes staring up, his chubby pink cheeks practically glowing with cuteness. For reasons she couldn't explain, her heart stirred. Even she had to admit, this baby was the most adorable child she'd ever seen. She barely resisted the urge to plant a kiss on his soft, plump little cheek.

"Greetings, Your Holiness!" The nanny bowed low and spoke in a timid voice. "Yes… this child was indeed brought back by the former Pontiff a month ago."

"So… that means this child is…" Bibi Dong murmured thoughtfully, her voice trailing off. Whatever she thought of next was too quiet for anyone to hear. The nanny kept her head bowed, trying her hardest not to listen—one never knew what secrets could cost one's life in Spirit Hall.

Snapped out of her thoughts, Bibi Dong glanced down and noticed the baby staring up at her, dazed. 'Did he hit his head too hard?'

Before worry could deepen, the little guy blinked, and then his chubby face split into the sweetest, most innocent smile ever seen. It was like the whole room brightened under the glow of his grin.

"Eeh… yyaa…" Yun Chuan babbled in classic baby-speak, his tiny arms waving and legs kicking with all his strength. He writhed in Bibi Dong's embrace as though protesting being held.

She frowned—her flawless brow tightening just slightly.

Seeing her reaction, Yun Chuan broke out into a cold sweat inwardly.

Thankfully, Bibi Dong didn't force the matter. After a moment, she gently placed him back on the floor. He immediately crawled at full speed to the nanny's side, circling around her and acting every bit the typical ignorant infant.

Bibi Dong didn't speak again. She simply turned and left the room.

She hadn't come here to see him specifically—just happened to hear a baby crying while passing by and had been curious. After all, why would there be a baby inside Spirit Hall?

As soon as that stunning woman disappeared from sight, Yun Chuan let out a silent sigh of relief.

From the way the nanny addressed her as "Your Holiness," it was obvious—there was no mistaking who that was. The one who would one day become the final boss of Soul Land I, the future Rakshasa God… Bibi Dong.

In Yun Chuan's eyes, this woman had the looks and grace of a celestial goddess—but inside, she was a ticking time bomb. Ever since that moment of horror when she was raped and humiliated by her own master, her heart had fractured. Her sanity had splintered.

Her later actions in the original story? Pure madness. Nothing but mindless destruction driven by bottomless hatred and despair.

Yes—Bibi Dong had already gone mad.

And today had been a far too dangerous encounter.
