It took weeks, but eventually Sunny got through every willing inhabitant in the dark city. But as a curtain closes, a new one always opens. Without a tyrant, a power struggle came, and it didn't help that Sunny could not unite them like he once did due to his reputation.
"The only one who could salvage this situation is princess, but god knows where she is! She needs to come off her little vacation already!"
Effie's voice rang out in the crowded tent. It wasn't filled with a bunch of people, rather it was just on the smaller side. Inside of it were Sunny, Cassie, Effie, and also some other new people. Kai was there due to him having a good relationship with those in and outside the dark castle. The woman who had not-so-modest clothing was also there, that was due to her having a... excellent relationship with the men in the castle, to say. Though she was missing an arm now, which hurt "business," so she said. Pauline, which he learned her name to be, spoke.
"If you limp dick losers don't start taking charge around here, you might as well just try to get cooperation the way I do!"
Sunny sent her a glare before walking in front of Cassie.
"I don't think that option is on the table..."
Pauline smirked before raising her nub of an arm at Sunny.
"I'm not talking about her... I'm talking about you."
Sunny flinched back and went behind Cassie.
"You know, I heard some of my customers talking about you, what happens in the dark city stays in the dar-"
Sunny raised his hand, letting out a huff before turning to Kai.
"Ignoring that, is there anything you've heard from the people?"
Kai lowered his head and let out a sigh, a nervous vibe leaking from him.
"They basically are electing another Gunlaug as leader... or should I say a group that could be comparable to Gunlaug as leaders."
Pauline's smile fell before her eyes narrowed into slits like a snake.
"I have an idea of who you're talking about... is that pretty boy one of them?"
Kai shook his head before he talked once more.
"There's three of them. Though they put on an act of saying all the things they would do, everything that came out of their mouth was a lie... their names were Lucien, Olivita, and Caster."
Sunny tensed up. After all, he knew two of those names well and could make an inference about the third. Caster was, well, Caster. Olivita was the boy he fought when he took combat classes, and judging by Pauline's description and how they're all from the academy, Lucien must have been that pretty boy he bumped into that day.
But why did they come here? Well, there was only one conclusion he could reach, Nephis. Fate really wasn't on their side, for them to land in the dark city and all three be Legacies, then the approval of them...
"Well, the solution is simple."
Walking to the exit of the tent, he turned his head around at the group.
"Let's go kill them."
---
"Wait!"
Pulling him back inside the tent, Kai looked down at him with some sweat on his face.
"Let's not jump straight to-"
"With the damages done, a power struggle will only start another war. If that is to happen, we'll all die. Don't worry though, I have a plan after we finish this."
Kai released Sunny before shrinking back. Suddenly, a resolved look came onto his face.
"You're right... but if we just kill them, won't that make more hostility?"
Sunny smiled, but the look in his eyes didn't match his face at all. It was a look of someone being forced into something.
"You're right, that's why I'm going to become the new tyrant of the dark city."
Letting his back face everyone, he raised his hand up and swung it down dramatically like a conductor.
"Let's put on a show! The newfound tyrant gets put down by Changing Star when she comes back from wherever she is!"
Effie laughed before grabbing her spear, walking up next to him. Cassie was already by his side, though he didn't notice until she grabbed his hand.
Pauline followed them out of the tent, and hesitantly, Kai left with them next.
The curtains have opened once more... a new play has started. The director being Sunny himself.
