"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!"
When I looked up at the sky, there was a massive meteor-looking thing heading straight toward me.
But before that—hello, my name is Rick Ash, heir to the Empire of Chess. Naturally, my brothers also wanted to be the heir, but being born after me, they couldn't do anything... except hope I died due to "unfortunate causes." You know, things like assassination—or, say, a massive meteor falling right on top of me.
Scared shitless, I ran straight toward the castle. There was no way in hell I was sticking around to see that thing hit.
I ran as fast as I could and burst into the castle, where my guardian, George, was already waiting.
"Rick, your brothers are getting restless. Now that the King has officially announced he'll crown you in exactly two weeks, I recommend staying here where I can keep watch over you," George said. "Unless your brothers hire an SS-Rank assassin, you should be fine."
I nodded. George was an S-Tier warrior, and although his magic wasn't particularly strong, it was still A-Rank, making him a formidable fighter.
I glanced back out the window—only to find that the meteor had mysteriously vanished. With nothing else happening, I figured it was time to sleep.
POV: Dio
Looking down at Etheria, I felt both amazed and... disappointed.
Magic was everywhere—used in daily life just like I had imagined. Anyone could use it, though, of course, some people were more talented than others. That was inevitable.
As far as I knew, there were five major kingdoms:
Chess, Lust, Luna, Sola, and Hade.
And as for magic, there were seven elemental types:
Earth, Wind, Fire, Ice, Light, Dark, and Water.
That was the good part.
Now, for the bad.
The humans… had decided not to worship me, the creator of Etheria. Instead, they invented four false gods and even made up some random bullshit about how they all "met in the Abyss to create the world." They renamed Etheria's origin story and called it Syvila.
These so-called gods were:
Genesis, God of Light
Taurturs, God of Darkness
Celestia, Goddess of Magic
Ethan, God of Talent
I was both enraged and—oddly—hurt.
Oh, and did I mention they made churches for each of these gods? The urge to destroy them is like putting a piece of chocolate in front of a child—it's unresistiable not to. But being the fair and reasonable person I am, I decided not to wipe out humanity…
…for now.
Anyway, if I remember correctly, I also created humanoid beast races like neko girls… maybe even fox girls. I should go check on them later.
But first—let's visit these kingdoms. I'll go incognito… as a traveling merchant.
And our first destination?
Why, the Empire of Chess, of course.
