I bent down, picked up the towel from the floor, and slung it carelessly over my shoulder. My brief boxer was lying near the foot of the bed, so I grabbed that too.
I turned around as I began walking towards the door to open it.
My hand brushed against the door handle..
I glanced back at him. Felix stood there, his chest rising and falling too quickly, panic flickering behind the anger in his eyes.
He thought I was bluffing.
How adorable.
"Lucien, stop," he said. His voice wasn't loud — it was strained
"Please stop."
I paused, looking over my shoulder at him.
"Why?"
"If you walk out of that door and let the maid see you," he said, his voice trembling despite how hard he tried to keep it firm, "I'll never forgive you."
Never forgive me?
That word rolled in my head.
Forgive.
As if I'd done something to him, when he was the one who opened his mouth and started this stupid war in the first place.
