Chapter 34 – Something Is Definitely Wrong
LUCIEN >< >~
Just when things were getting juicy, with this mystery lady—okay, ms talkative —about to spill the beans on my so-called "angel" savior, the door flew open like it had been kicked in by a SWAT team.
I whipped my head around—or at least tried to; my neck still felt like it was made of rusty hinges—and there she was: Mom, charging in at her like she was coming to arrest her or whatever, her face twisted in anger.
The first thought that hit me was why was she angry at the lady.
"Why are you disturbing my son?" she barked at the maid, her voice booming like thunder. I swear, if looks could kill, the poor woman would've dropped dead on the spot.
The maid jumped back, her hands flying up like she'd been caught red-handed stealing cookies.
