Chapter 108 - [108] It is Beautiful

Killer Bee arrived in front of Minato in an instant, the ground beneath his feet fractured into concentric rings from his sudden deceleration. His eight swords descended simultaneously at unnatural angles, each blade circled towards minato, so he could not follow them. The attack came as a coordinated strike, blades targeting throat, ribs, legs, face, and shoulder.

Minato teleported and reappeared beside another Flying Thunder God kunai several meters away, cloak which he wore to protect him from sand dunes... fluttered lightly. His voice was calm and almost detached.

"You cannot catch me," Minato said as a matter-of-fact. "Because I am faster than you."

Killer Bee did not answer with denial.

Instead, he lifted his swords slightly, showing the edges where dark blood dripped steadily. Black ink mixed with blood as it the blood slid from top of the sword to bottom slowly.

"Are you sure?" Bee asked quietly.

Minato felt it then a slash on his check where his blood and black ink from the Bee's sword had splattered across his cheeks during one of Bee's close-range engagements. Seals began to spread outward from the wound, thin black kanji crawling across his skin, attempting to restrict chakra flow.

Minato's eyes sharpened.

"Good attempt," he admitted. "You have surpassed your former self. If this continues, it will be costly for both of us."

Killer Bee's chakra flared brighter in response.

"I showed you nothing yet once your chakra is sealed," Bee replied, voice losing its rhythm, "you will not be able to use your teleportation. Without it, you are slower than me... now that I have improved."

Minato raised one hand calmly and formed seals, while the other hand maintained the hold on Kaien. He directed chakra internally to disrupt the spreading ink formula. The black script flickered and began dissolving under focused suppression.

Kaien spoke then.

"Uncle Bee, it is fine," Kaien said steadily. "Collect that blood of Minato from your swords and go meet Captain. He is ten kilometers from here at the Valley of Hell."

Then he turned his gaze directly toward Minato.

"You are risking war by capturing me, since you know that I am the real grandson of the Raikage." Kaien continued. "Kumo suffered minor losses last war. Your village has not recovered. And what of Suna? I heard you are having trouble there as well."

Minato's expression did not change, but his grip tightened slightly.

"If you take me," Kaien said, voice calm despite the storm, "you ignite conflict on multiple fronts. And you will die anyways because we have your blood now without your power it is imminent Konoha will fall. I will do you a favour and tell you how kushina is if you let me go. Think carefully, the decision you take will decide the next war. Are you prepared to loss more of your shinobi, unlike the last war this will be more personal."

Minato was almost convinced and on the verge of letting Kaien go at the thought of another war, one that he himself would ignite. His decision in this moment could very well become the spark that leads to a Fourth Shinobi War. Konoha had still not recovered, with too many children already sent to the battlefield in the last war. They needed time to rebuild and to grow strong again.

For a moment, Minato hesitated.

As he remembered, the death of the third hokage and kushina's capture, his heart was filled with rage. On one side, he did not want to risk a war... on other side he wanted every chance to get revenge on kumo.

He stood between vengeance and responsibility.

Kaien said as he looked dead in Minato's eyes.

Seeing the distracted Minato, Killer Bee disabled Ink Rain Sensing at Will technique. The scattered droplets condensed into small ink constructs resembling squirrels. They scurried silently across the battlefield, collecting Flying Thunder God kunai and dragging them away. Simultaneously, thin trails of ink crept underground toward Minato's position as he was in trance to decide the next step.

Kaien used every argument he had left to try and sway Minato. He did not know whether his words would work, but he understood the leverage they held. Kumo now had Minato's blood. If the Chinoike clan formally aligned with Kumo, they would could kill MInato or would him at anytime using Curse Technique: Death Controlling Possessed Blood. What Kaien did not know was that the Chinoike clan had already sworn themselves to Kumo.

For a brief moment, Minato seemed trapped inside his own thoughts, as if Kaien's words had placed him under a mental genjutsu. He looked at the boy who had orchestrated so much chaos inside in his mind, and what unsettled him most was the absence of remorse in those eyes. That calm calculation only fed the fire inside him.

"So be it," Minato said coldly. "If war is what you want, then war is what you will get."

Killer Bee surged forward in Gyūki Chakra Mode, chakra roaring around him as he closed the distance. This time, however, Minato did not allow even a fraction of opportunity. Before Bee could reach him, space warped, and Minato teleported away... Kaien still in his grasp.

"No!" Killer Bee shouted, watching helplessly as both of them vanished.

The forest fell silent for a fraction of a second.

Then Bee's expression changed.

His chakra surged violently, as he gathered positive black chakra and negative white chakra in the ratio of 8:2 into his palms, compressing it rapidly into a dense sphere of swirling energy. He did not need full transformation to produce it. Gyūki's power swirled within him as he expanded the sphere far beyond standard combat size.

The Tailed Beast Ball grew larger than a two-story building.

Bee flew into the air with his ink wings as he got much used to it. He angled it toward the Land of Fire at approximately forty-five degrees and released it in his anger.

The massive black sphere tore through the sky.

Several kilometers inside the Land of Fire, a border village thrived in its usual pace. Vendors called out prices for vegetables and handmade crafts. Children darted between stalls and the scent of freshly grilled skewers mingled with incense from a small shrine.

A seven-year-old girl named Hikari walked beside her mother, who carried the rounded weight of late pregnancy beneath her yukata.

"Mama, I want that mask," Hikari said, pointing eagerly at a vendor's display.

The shopkeeper's face brightened instantly.

"Come inside," he said cheerfully. "Buy one, get one half off today."

Hikari tugged at her mother's sleeve, nearly dragging her forward. Her mother laughed softly, though she winced slightly as she adjusted her grip around her belly.

"Hikari, be gentle," her mother said, placing a protective hand over her stomach. "Your baby brother might protest."

"She will be a sister," Hikari insisted confidently, leaning closer to the bump. "Come out soon. I will protect you."

Her mother smiled warmly.

"You already sound like a proper big sister," she said. "Choose carefully."

Hikari examined the masks with exaggerated seriousness. There were fox masks, demon masks, festival faces painted in bright colors.

Then she saw it, a black mask marked with red clouds.

"I want that one," she said decisively.

Her mother hesitated. "It looks ominous," she said gently. "Are you certain?"

Hikari pouted and tugged at her mother's sleeve again. "Please, Mama. I will be very good girl from now."

The shopkeeper cleared his throat politely. "Fifty yen," he said.

"Thirty," the mother countered.

"It is a rare piece. The least I can go is 40 yen.," the shopkeeper replied after a moment's thought.

She sighed and handed over the coins.

Hikari beamed and placed the mask over her face. She spun around playfully, giggling as she wore mask which had the red clouds in black.

Then she looked upward through the eye pockets. "What is that?" she asked, pointing at the sky.

A dark shape grew rapidly larger. At first it looked distant and beautiful, like a second moon descending.

Someone screamed. "Run!"

The market erupted into chaos. As stalls overturned and parents grabbed children. People tripped over each other in desperate panic.

Hikari did not understand. "It is beautiful," she whispered beneath the mask.

Her mother grabbed her arm and tried to pull her away, but the ground trembled violently as the black sphere descended.

The Tailed Beast Ball struck.

Light swallowed everything as sounds ceased to exist.

The explosion expanded outward in a ten-kilometer radius, erasing buildings, trees, and lives in an instant. Shockwaves flattened structures far from the impact radius. Fire rose into the sky as earth fractured.

Where laughter had filled the air moments moments earlier, there was nothing. Just a big crater. There was nothing to prove that a village existed here.

A/N: Some random village was destroyed because someone powerful was angry. Kaien is finally captured... in exchange Bee has Minato's blood which according to Kaien can be used to curse and kill Minato. (Hidan's future technique)
