Chapter 1 - Reborn with Supreme Sacrifice

The cramped apartment was bathed in darkness, the only sound the faint hum of the city outside. Suddenly, a young man shot up from the bed, gasping for air, eyes wide open as if waking from a nightmare.

"This… this is… rebirth?"

Miguel raised his hands, staring at his trembling fingers. His lips moved, barely forming the words, the disbelief heavy in his voice. Just a moment ago, his life had been a desperate struggle. Surrounded, hunted by multiple Main Gods, he had fought like a cornered beast, unwilling to fall. Yet, betrayal had sealed his fate.

The memories came flooding back like a dam bursting open.

He had been on the verge of becoming the Supreme God, holding the coveted Supreme Godhood in his grasp. It was a dream countless deities could only yearn for. But his greatest mistake? Trusting the one he called his closest friend. He had shared the news of his breakthrough, thinking they would rejoice together.

Instead, that so-called friend sold him out.

Ten Main Gods descended upon him, greed burning in their eyes, seeking the fragment of divinity that could make one of them almighty. Miguel, though one of the strongest among the Main Gods, had fought valiantly yet desperately. In the end, he had slain the Thunder Main God, striking him down at the cost of his own life, his body mangled and drenched in divine blood.

And then… a blinding light erupted from the unassuming blue ring on his finger—the last gift from his late mother. When his consciousness returned, he was here, in this small, dingy rental apartment that reeked faintly of old furniture and dust.

Miguel flicked the switch, light spilling across the cramped room. A thousand memories clawed at his mind, emotions surging like a storm. He picked up his phone and stared at the glowing screen.

2021. July 15th.

He froze. This was a date burned into his mind. A month earlier, on June 15th, 2021, the game Godmaking Online had launched. To the world, it was just a groundbreaking MMORPG developed by Titan Games. But Miguel knew better.

This wasn't a game. It was a cosmic trial, a system created by the consciousness of the universe itself, designed to forge gods from mortals. And the destiny of every living being on Earth would eventually be tied to this game.

Last time, he had entered late and still managed to become the Tenth Main God of Earth. This time… this time would be different.

His gaze drifted to his right hand, to the plain blue ring that had once saved his life. Miguel's lips curved into a rare smile as he gently rubbed the band.

"Old friend… you've done it again. You've brought me back, given me another chance. This time, no one will stand in my way. This time, I will be untouchable."

With a deep breath, he whispered, "Take me into the game."

In the early days of Godmaking Online, before it fully merged with Earth's reality, players needed a Game Capsule to log in. Even the cheapest model costs a staggering 100,000 credits, an impossible sum for an orphan like Miguel. In his previous life, a mere wish had triggered the ring's mysterious power, pulling him into the game world.

Now, once again, the world went dark.

When Miguel opened his eyes, the void of the universe stretched infinitely around him, stars glittering like diamonds on black silk. A mechanical voice reverberated from every direction:

Miguel chuckled, nostalgia washing over him. "Stellar Mist," he said—the same name he had used before.

[Username accepted.]

[Activating Player's Innate Talent…]

[Activation complete. You may now enter the game.]

[Wishing Player "Stellar Mist" a pleasant experience.]

The cosmos twisted, his vision blurred, and suddenly he stood in a dimly lit wooden cabin.

[Welcome, Player "Stellar Mist," to Novice Village #10086.]

[Beginner's Gift Pack has been placed in your inventory.]

The room was pitifully bare, a single dusty wooden bed the only furniture. Miguel sat down, unbothered by the grime, and opened his inventory. A 20-slot grid appeared, and inside it lay a small glowing package.

[Beginner's Gift Pack]

Every fresh player got one of these. It contained a weapon and some health potions. Miguel tapped to open it.

Ding! You have opened the Beginner's Gift Pack. Obtained: [Wooden Stick (Iron-Grade)] ×1, [Healing Potion (Iron-Grade)] ×10.

He picked up the stick, inspecting it.

[Wooden Stick]

Description: A flimsy wooden stick. Better than bare hands… barely.

The potions were no better. A hundred HP over ten seconds. But Miguel only smirked. This wasn't the prize he was after.

He equipped the stick casually, then opened his status panel.

Miguel's eyes widened, a fierce light blazing within them.

"Main God-Class?! My last life only gave me a Gold-ranked talent… and I had to evolve it over years of bloodshed to reach this level. But this time… I start at the peak."

Godmaking Online classified talents from weakest to strongest: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Dark Gold, Legendary, Epic, Divine, Main God, and the mythical Supreme God-tier. Starting with a Main God talent was unheard of.

With trembling excitement, he clicked it open.

[Supreme Sacrifice] (Innate Talent)

Effect 2: Gain random Free Attribute Points proportional to the target's level.

Miguel clenched his fist, his blood boiling with anticipation. This was more than a second chance—this was destiny rewritten.

"This time," he vowed, "I won't just forge a god. I'll forge the only god that matters—me."
