Chapter 4 - Fall

The chamber was quiet now; the only sound was the soft hum of reality folding gently around them. The night had many screams and adventurers, and many crazy and interesting roleplaying. Both of them were enjoying themselves, completely and utterly vulnerable to each other.

Freya lay curled beside him, her breath warm against his skin, fingers still trailing the fading lines of energy on his chest, divine marks that would vanish the moment he left.

Nova sat up, brushing her hair behind her ear, his voice soft and reaffirming: "I'll come back."

"You better," she whispered, eyes closed, voice already steadying itself.

They cuddled some more, their naked bodies ecstatically against each other, in divine ecstasy. They had a blanket on top of them, which covered all the exciting parts, but left their expressions for them to comprehend.

Nova held Freya slightly tighter, as if afraid to let her go. He didn't want to reincarnate without her, but he also had no choice. She was much more important than he in the grand scale of things, since creation was much more desirable than destruction, since life was more important than just death.

"I wish you could reincarnate with me, be by my side." He spoke up, his voice low, as if he didn't want her to listen. He started to play with her hair, like a cat trying to catch the red light from a pointer.

"I wish I could." Her voice was low and gloomy. Knowing that she couldn't leave the Inner Heaven. "But unfortunately, I have to stay behind and help look over my creation, to guide and nurture them. I can't abandon that duty."

"If only you could. But anyway," Nova spoke up, then brought an important piece of information. "Make sure to look after her; otherwise, she might cause some complications."

"Oh, don't worry," Freya played it off, shrugging her shoulder, her voice excited, like a big sister. "I got this in the bag. Besides, we have known each other, like forever, she's practically my little sister." Then she corrected herself, her voice even more excited: "No, she is my sister."

Freya smiled, eyes half-lidded as she nestled closer into his chest. "She'll be fine. And I'll make sure she doesn't blow up another galaxy… probably."

Nova chuckled, the sound short and strained. He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. Then, another kiss to the lips. They held onto the kiss for approximately five minutes. Then got even more intimate, and kissed even longer, but more passionately this time.

But then, Freya pulled off, as Nova was just getting started. She sat on the bed, then removed the blanket and stood up, her bare back, with divine marks suggesting the Divinity of Creation, green and full of energy, even more energy now since the night. Then she snapped her fingers, immediately dressing herself.

Then she turned around, and Nova followed suit. He was in front of her, her back against the wall, as he snapped his fingers, as Freya's eyes lingered a little past his waist, just before he got dressed. But she contained herself, as almost nosebleed.

Freya then spoke up, going towards him, lifting her hand to touch Nova's hardened bicep muscles. She caressed them for a bit, unable to leave the urge to just keep him with her forever and forever, like a maniac.

Then she said, her voice authoritative, yet soft, still caressing, and even adding drooling to the list: "You'd better not lose them when you come back up here again. Otherwise, I will remove your privileges of going back down again." Then she pulled him closer, a faint smile appearing at the edge of her mouth, her voice funky, yet childish: "Understood?"

Nova laughed even more, and she joined him. He pulled her closer for another kiss, as he snapped his fingers again. She pulled off, waving at him. He waved back, both upset, while Nova was equally as excited.

It was his chance to live his life like he had desired to.

It was his chance to live his life on his own accord.

It was his chance to feel what it meant to struggle; what it meant to fear; what it meant to be defeated.

Then, Nova teleported to the mortal realm, on a distant and small planet known by the natives as Earth. It was one of the only civilizations that was still very underdeveloped and very low on the Kardashian Scale in the grand scheme of things.

He teleported to Earth, spawning in North America, in the United States, in the bustling life of Boston, Massachusetts. He spawned in a dark, disgusting alley, where rats and cockroaches, and low-life, degenerates live.

He looked around, his face contorting in disgust. His lips curled, brows furrowed, as if the very air he breathed disgusted him. Then, from the corner of his eye, he spotted something moving. Curious and small. Dark, but with light. A small furry, little creature that both surprised him with its cuteness, while also dumbfounded him, as he had never seen such a small creature in his life.

Then the creature moved towards him, stopping just at Nova's feet. Nova squatted down, the creature moving away slightly, but then readjusting itself back towards Nova. The creature was much smaller than a duckling, or about its size.

Nova tried to pick it up, but the creature cautiously moved slightly, as if sensing danger. But when Nova slowly went towards it, let it smell it, and slightly patting it, the creature became a bit more friendly; more engaging.

The small, tiny creature purred at him. And it just melted Nova's heart.

Then he realized the term they used to call a creature native to the planet. "Are you… a cat?"

It was indeed a cat. A small kitten that felt more comfortable being around Nova, as it wasn't sensing any danger. Only curiosity. Nova picked up the kitten, then heard more voices. He investigated, going near the darker side of the alley.

He kept walking, as the voices became louder, and eventually, he found an entire box worth of kittens, all meowing. So, he put the kitten in his hand, took the entire box, and quickly exited the dark alley, before any trouble found him.
