Fang Yuan ascended the stone steps, reaching the peak of Dang Hun Mountain with the Hu Immortal Land Spirit quietly following behind him.
The mountain winds were fierce and howling, but with a wave of her hand, the land spirit softened them into a gentle breeze.
"Master, this blessed land spans 4,000 square kilometers. Time flows five times faster here. Most of the land is grassland, the—"
"Wait," Fang Yuan interrupted her sharply, raising a hand. He already knew most of the blessed land's characteristics from his previous life.
"Take me to the palace within Dang Hun Mountain," he ordered directly.
Obediently, the land spirit guided him deep into the mountain, into the heart of an ancient palace. At its core lay a massive golden bowl, shimmering faintly in the dim light. It was filled with a thick, glowing green liquid—immortal essence.
Floating on the surface of the liquid were numerous condensed spheres, each about the size of a grape.
These were green grape immortal essence—a vital resource that only Rank Six Gu Immortals possessed.
Each drop contained more energy than the entire immortal essence reserves of the Three Kings Blessed Land combined.
Seeing them, Fang Yuan finally exhaled in relief. "With this much immortal essence, I still have a solid chance."
He quickly counted the drops. There were seventy-eight pearls of green grape immortal essence resting in the bowl. Beneath them, a thin layer of semi-liquid blue-green essence added just enough volume to make up half a drop more.
Including the seven and a half drops he had previously taken from the Ba Gui Blessed Land, Fang Yuan now possessed eighty-six drops in total.
Without wasting another second, Fang Yuan reached into his storage and began laying out materials: rare resources, the cauldron from Ba Gui Blessed Land, a glowing immortal stone, and finally, the last remaining intact Abomination Gu.
"I'll begin refining a Gu in just a few minutes," he declared, eyes flashing with determination.
"I'll need you to assist in the refinement when I give the signal," Fang Yuan said calmly.
With those words, he pulled out eight bottles of wine and set them aside at a distance, before retrieving an empty cauldron—the one he had taken from the Bai Gu Blessed Land.
He then activated the Stream of Torrential Light Gu, enveloping the cauldron in radiant, blinding light. Yet, the cauldron stood firm—the intense light could not damage it.
The Hu Immortal land spirit, still in the form of a young girl, watched curiously, unsure of Fang Yuan's intent.
Then, from one of the mud-covered primeval elder Gu, Fang Yuan took out a Divine Travel Gu and carefully placed it inside the glowing cauldron. From another mud-covered elder Gu, he extracted a small quantity of immortal essence, and immediately began the Gu refinement process.
The land spirit's eyes widened in shock.
To see a mortal-rank Gu—buried in mud—contain an Immortal Gu and actual immortal essence was something beyond her expectations.
But Fang Yuan didn't spare her a glance.
With sharp precision, he threw several more Gu into the cauldron: Fairy Wind Gu, Fixed Star Gu, Seven Shining Stars Gu, and Starlight Gu. Each one vanished into the swirling light.
"This… this refinement method—!" the land spirit gasped, finally recognizing what was happening. Her eyes were wide with disbelief.
"Don't just stand there," Fang Yuan snapped without turning his head. "Use your immortal essence."
Although he was relying on the immortal essence he'd collected from the Ba Gui Blessed Land, it didn't mean she couldn't contribute her own.
Snapping out of her daze, the land spirit quickly complied, tossing two drops of her immortal essence into the cauldron. Fang Yuan followed with five drops of his own.
The light intensified for several minutes, the air humming with a refined power.
Then, suddenly, the blinding brilliance above the cauldron vanished.
Hovering just above the cauldron's center was a beautiful Gu—shaped like a delicate jade butterfly, its wings shimmering with faint starlight. Elegant, radiant, and seemingly ready to take flight, it pulsed with gentle power.
Fang Yuan's eyes narrowed slightly as he stared at the newly refined Gu. He didn't reach out to touch it, instead giving a simple command:
"Hold onto it for now."
Then, he sat down, began counting on his fingers, and uncorked several vats, drinking the liquor in large gulps.
Almost immediately, a wave of intoxication hit him hard.
By the time he drank the eighth vat, his vision had already begun to blur.
At that moment, his body trembled — all the drunkenness inside him seemed to converge into a single point, like rivers flowing into the sea. Suddenly, a divine opportunity emerged. As Dao marks formed, that point exploded and gave birth to a Gu — the Divine Travel Gu.
Without hesitation, Fang Yuan activated the Awaken Cloud Gu and Clear Mind Gu.
A Gu appeared in his hand — it looked like a round gem, entirely yellow, hollow inside, with a swirling ball of purple smoke suspended within.
Fang Yuan had once again obtained the Divine Travel Gu.
The land spirit stared in shock, completely speechless.
What she had just witnessed in a matter of minutes was beyond anything she could immediately process.
Two Immortal Gu had been refined in this blessed land in under half an hour.
"M… Master…" the land spirit stammered.
"You… can refine Immortal Gu."
It wasn't that she found the concept unbelievable — but the fact that a mere mortal like her new master had accomplished this left her utterly stunned.
Even the Hu Immortal, in her prime, had never owned a single Immortal Gu. And now, she stood before two, watching them being refined right before her eyes.
Fang Yuan handed her the other Gu and said, "Come on, let's search for the gutstones."
"Yes!" the land spirit responded eagerly. "Master, you're truly amazing!"
She jumped with joy, holding the two Immortal Gu tightly in her hands.
Fang Yuan merely shook his head at her excitement, choosing not to comment.
In truth, he had already tested the recipes for these two Gu once during his future life, using his spare time. Though he had occasionally failed, as a supreme grandmaster of refinement, he continued trying until he succeeded. Then, he destroyed those Gu and refined them again from scratch.
What no one knew was that these Gu recipes were now the simplest in the world—for him. He was so familiar with them, he could refine them with his eyes closed.
