Chapter 79 - Where's the one who claimed he could break the formation?

"Fellow brothers!" Fang Yuan shouted as he soared into the sky. "Everyone, unleash your strongest attacks at this spot!"

He hurled a rock toward the lower section of the curtain wall, marking the target.

"This is the weak point," he continued. "Once enough damage is dealt here, the barrier will open—for fifteen breaths—before sealing again."

"Attack!" he commanded.

With Fang Yuan in the lead, nearly a hundred Gu Masters launched their assaults against the targeted section of the formation.

From a distance, the watching Gu Immortals smirked, some even chuckling inwardly at the sight.

One of them spoke, voice laced with amusement, "Are we really just going to watch this farce? Let's join forces and properly open this Hu Immortal inheritance!"

"Alright, alright."

"Then let's strike together."

"Rise!"

Ten formless powers surged out from the void, majestic and boundless like tsunami or mountain torrent!

The world changed, wind rose and clouds rumbled.

The ten powers revolved around each other before converging together and colliding against a certain place on Tian Ti mountain.

There was no sound, the terrifying formless power vanished like thin air. Golden rays of light blossomed and a vermillion gatehouse slowly rose up.

The gatehouse was a hundred feet tall with a nine colored plaque on it shining brilliantly.

In the air, pink propitious clouds gathered and bright rays of sunlight gathered to become a flight of stairs.

The stairs stretched out from the gatehouse and became a rainbow bridge, landing exactly before the group of elite disciples.

"Enter according to the ranking of the competition." An ethereal voice came from the air and clearly resounded in the ten sects' disciples' ears.

This was the voice of a Gu Immortal in the sky.

All kinds of expressions appeared on the ten sects' disciples' faces; awe, reverence, zealotry and so on. Most of their gazes gathered on a girl.

She was wearing a phoenix coronet, had slanted eyes, her golden brows were thin and long and there was was a small red birthmark in the middle of her brows. Her appearance was dignified and graceful, and her beauty was unrivalled.

She was the winner of the first place in this great competition – Feng Jin Huang!

This girl was magnificent and brilliant, her skin was like snow and her eyes were like lightning. Like the phoenix that soared through the skies, she was elegant and pure, arrogantly looking at the world. When compared to her, the elite disciples around her seemed to have turned into ordinary sparrows.

Bai Ning Bing had fought with her, but was defeated even after unleashing his entire strength.

Hearing the Gu Immortal's voice, Feng Jin Huang gave a clear whistle and turned into a golden light, shooting forward.

The golden light became a phoenix and collided into the gatehouse; the vermillion gatehouse shook and opened a void that swallowed Feng Jin Huang.

After twenty to thirty disciples entered, it was Bai Ning Bing's turn.

Bai Ning Bing walked through the rainbow bridge and entered the gatehouse. He immediately felt dizzy, colors rotated around to form a whirlpool in front of him, dazzling like the blossoming of all sorts of flowers; he felt like he was drifting in a gorgeous hurricane storm.

...

In the distance, Fang Yuan felt the ground tremble beneath him. He narrowed his eyes and muttered, "It's time."

From within his aperture, he released an Abomination Gu. It shot forward and slammed into the barrier with a thunderous boom—instantly causing cracks to spiderweb across the curtain.

"Now!" Fang Yuan shouted, dashing ahead without hesitation.

The other Gu Masters surged forward behind him, but within moments, Fang Yuan's figure had already disappeared from their sight.

...

The Gu Immortals, who had been watching their elite disciples enter the Blessed Land, were stunned when they saw cracks appear on the barrier.

Their eyes snapped to the curtain just in time to witness a number of Gu Masters slipping through—and some already a few meters beyond the breach.

Reacting instantly, several Gu Immortals launched their techniques—imprisoning the intruders in mid-air. Others wasted no time and executed those they caught.

"These people have some talent," remarked a young Gu Immortal with flowing silk-like hair as he casually eliminated a Gu Master in the distance.

He glanced around. The others had either captured or slain most of the rogue Gu Masters.

Then, narrowing his eyes, he asked, "Where's the one who claimed he could break the formation?"

The group looked over the battlefield—at the dead and imprisoned—but Fang Yuan was nowhere to be found.

"Wait, look!" Fairy Bai Qing suddenly exclaimed, pointing toward the vermillion gatehouse. A series of blurred afterimages were visible, racing toward it.

All eyes turned toward a nearby crystal display that revealed the interior of the Hu Immortal Blessed Land.

Ordinarily, what happens inside a Blessed Land is hidden from the outside world. However, certain advanced techniques—such as the Force Intrusion Technique—allow one to bypass this restriction. This particular technique projected a real-time view of the events unfolding within the Blessed Land, displayed through a crystal sphere shimmering with ethereal light.

Within the blessed land, a young man lay sprawled on the ground, gasping for air with his hands on his knees. He soon collapsed on his back, breathing deeply.

"That was close," he muttered.

Lei Tan's expression shifted from shock to delight as he recognized the youth. Turning to Bai Qing, he said with a wide grin, "Fairy Bai Qing, it seems your daughter has finally met her match."

"Ha!" Bai Qing was momentarily speechless. But before she could respond, she noticed something even more surprising—Bai Ning Bing, who had been ascending the mountain, leapt down and rushed over to the young man.

The appearance of this unknown figure within the Blessed Land sent waves of confusion and unease through both those inside and outside.

Inside the land, the disciples of the ten great sects were wary—how had this stranger gotten in?

Outside, the Gu Immortals frowned in disbelief.

Not only had this young man entered right under their noses, but he had also crossed a distance that should've taken minutes in mere moments.
