== Chapter One Glossary ==

Earth: A planet outside of the RuneScape universe. It is predominantly home to the Human race and exists within a universe where Anima and other supernatural abilities are considered mythical or legendary. In RuneScape: A New Saga, this world is set in the twenty-first century (early 2020 to mid-2020).

Gielinor: A mythical world that is the center of the RuneScape universe. It is the "most perfect and the last creation" of the Elder Gods and where the games RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds are set in.

First Age (Gielinor): Also known as the Mythical Age, it is when the god Guthix first arrived on the planet and opened the World Gate to allow Humans, dwarves, elves, and many others to cross into Gielinor.

Third Age (Gielinor): This is a period of Gielinorian history where entire armies of gods (mostly Saradomin, Zamorak, Bandos, and Zaros) fought over the mainland. The scars of this age persist to the current age. It is also known as the period of the God Wars.

Fifth Age (Gielinor): This is the age where adventurers slowly became more and more popular and is the setting of both RuneScape (2001 to 2013) and Old School RuneScape. This age ended in the main RuneScape game with the death of Guthix.

Sixth Age (Gielinor): This is the current age of the main RuneScape game from 2013 to the present. With the death of Guthix, this age saw the return of the gods, destruction of the Stone of Jas, and the Elder God Wars. It is also during this age that Guthix gave Gielinor its last World Guardian.

World Guardian (Gielinor): This is the Player Character from the main RuneScape game. They have gone under many titles both before and after taking up the mantle.

RuneScape: An MMORPG created by Andrew Gower (RuneScape, Brighter Shores) in 2001. It was originally called DeviousMUD in 1999.

== Chapter Two Glossary ==

Elder Gods (RuneScape): These are also known as the Creators or Elder Choir. They are known to be the highest tier of gods in the universe of RuneScape and can create worlds and stars from Anima. It is also known that they are [REDACTED].

Jas(RuneScape): The eldest sister of the Elder Gods and represents the progression of Time. In the canon storyline of Gielinor, it is unknown what has happened to her after going into [REDACTED].

Bik (RuneScape): She is the fourth eldest Elder God and is known to be related to earth, plant life, and organic matter. Bik is also known to have the most contempt for intelligent life out of all of the Elder Gods.

Wen (RuneScape): She is known to be associated with Inversion and Ice. She is also the third eldest Elder God.

Ful (RuneScape): She is responsible for creating the TokHaar race, the Elder Kiln, and is known to be associated with Constancy and Fire. She is also the second eldest Elder God.

The Great Revision (RuneScape): It is an act of the Creators to recreate the universe after being born from their eggs. It essentially wipes out all life in the universe to give the new generation of Elder Gods the chance to create new worlds and stars.

=== Chapter Three Glossary ===

Rune Essence: This is the base runic essence one can mine in the main game. Unlike its pure variant, this type of essence can only be used to make elemental runes (Air, Water, Earth, and Fire).

Pure Essence: This is the highest type of essence found in the RuneScape lore. It can be used to make any rune in the game and even be used in place of rune essence in some quests.

Rune Altar: Altars that can be accessed in mysterious ruins or out in the open that can make certain rune types ranging from Air to Time.

Ash Logs: The basic logs found in Ashenfall. In this story, they are used in place of normal trees found in the main continental region as they are just considered "trees."

Level 99: This is considered the "Mastery" level of all skills in the game. To all people who get to this level, they gain a skillcape to display their achievement. This is typically reached at 13,034,431 experience for normal skills and 36,073,511 for Invention.

Level 120: This is considered the "True Mastery" level of all skills in the game. While some skills in the main game have this level capacity, this does not prevent them from reaching this level virtually and gaining the appropriate skillcape. This is typically reached at 104,273,167 experience for normal skills and 80,618,654 experience for Invention.

200 Million Experience: This is the limit of experience any player can reach for all skills. Once players reach this capacity, the skills can not longer gain experience.

Clock: Goes tick tock. This is not a reference to the Twitch Streamer MrClockWorks.

Quest Log: This is a log of adventures that can be visited at any time. It currently contains over 300 quests, miniquests, and sagas in the main game.

Timeline: The literal timeline of Gielinor's history.

Pre-First Age: The time before Guthix's Arrival to Gielinor. This is made up of the Time of the Elder Gods, the Dragonkin, and the Colossi.

== Chapter Four Glossary ==

Lumbridge: A city on the mainland of Gielinor where players arrive after completing Tutorial Island.

Dragonkin: A race of dragon-like humanoids that were enslaved to Jas and her sisters due to the actions of Kerapac.

Anachronia: Also known as the Land Out of Time, it is a continent to the far north-east of Gielinor's mainland where Kerapac used an Elder Artefact to rewind time and bring it back from the depths of the ocean. It is also where the Time Altar is located.

Abyss: It is a parallel dimension to the main RuneScape universe where strange creatures reside.

Kerapac: A dragonkin inventor who created a machine capable of converting regular Anima into Shadow Anima. His invention, while unauthorized, became the sole reason of his race's enslavement to the Elder Gods and the inventor eventually became directly enslaved to Jas herself during the Elder God Wars.

Shadow Anima: A more volatile and malevolent type of Anima that does not interact well with normal Anima. While some Anima-based entities (such as the World Guardian) are able to resist the effects of Shadow Anima, not all are capable of this. It acts like a poison to the Elder Gods.
