Chapter 4: That Damned Blue Silver Entanglement Is Still Entangling Me!
After his long conversation with Tianmeng Ice Silkworm in the Spiritual Sea, Huo Yuhao slowly awakened.
"My soul power has reached Rank 15."
Even though Tianmeng didn't open up a second martial soul slot for him, she had used most of her origin power to refine his body and improve his aptitude. A five-rank increase in soul power was already a pleasant surprise.
As for that grey orb floating in his Spiritual Sea, Huo Yuhao decided not to touch it for now.
That orb contained Electrolux, the Necromancer God of Death—also known as the Undead Calamity. But for now, his soul was unstable—merely a shattered fragment at best. It was better to let him continue sleeping. Once Huo Yuhao found a soul-stabilizing treasure, he'd help him awaken properly.
Question: What's the first thing to do after gaining a massive power-up?
Answer: Run!
Huo Yuhao didn't hesitate. Even though nothing bad had happened yet, a faint warning from his Destiny urged him to leave immediately. If he stayed, something uncontrollable was bound to occur.
He activated the Spiritual Interference Domain, masking his presence by distorting nearby perceptions, and sprinted full speed toward the edge of the Star Dou Forest.
---
Just half an hour after he left, the previously clear skies turned dark. A giant shadow descended—Di Tian, the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King—hovered over the very spot Huo Yuhao had just vacated, frowning in confusion.
Those two tolls of the bell—he couldn't identify the source. It was as if the sound had echoed right beside him. But through the lingering fluctuations, he managed to pinpoint a general direction and followed it here.
"Strange… The air is filled with an ice-elemental aura… and a spiritual presence I find oddly familiar. Already gone?"
Two mysterious bells toll—one echoing with Destiny, the other with Strong Luck. He couldn't make sense of the full picture, but the words alone hinted at powers far beyond the ordinary. And yet, he found nothing. No clues. No presence.
"Was it a soul beast? Or… a powerful human?"
"Forget it. I'll report this to the Lord. Let her decide."
With that, Di Tian opened a spatial rift and stepped inside—but moments later, he returned for one last look.
"Just as I thought… already gone."
Only then did he give up and return to the Lake of Life.
---
Meanwhile…
Huo Yuhao had no idea that Di Tian had arrived shortly after his departure to investigate him personally.
Thankfully, his sense of danger and reliance on the Power of Destiny had guided him to retreat early. Otherwise, he might've been dragged straight to the Lake of Life, where he'd inevitably be exposed to that lovestruck Silver Dragon King.
Could he have escaped then? Highly unlikely.
And more than that, he despised the feeling of having his destiny controlled by someone else.
"Phew—"
His chest burned as he sprinted at full speed. Soul power was nearly drained; he was totally spent.
Back in his Spiritual Sea, Tianmeng had already returned to her favorite activity—napping.
Huo Yuhao didn't disturb her. He pushed on until the uneasy sensation faded. Only when he was near the edge of the Star Dou Great Forest and felt truly safe again did he allow himself to stop at a crystal-clear stream to wash up.
Stripping off his clothes, he bathed in the mountain spring. Then, after catching a few fresh fish and preparing to cook them, he began thinking about what to do next.
But before he could take his first bite, a pair of young people came into view.
He immediately recognized them—Tang Ya and Bei Bei. From their distressed tone, it seemed Tang Ya had failed to obtain a soul ring, and both had narrowly escaped danger. Their voices were full of fear and frustration.
He didn't engage.
Yes, he had shared grilled fish with them before the battle with the God-Killer Wind Baboon. But so what? He now looked entirely different. His personality and aura had also changed dramatically. Even if they recognized his clothing, there was nothing to worry about.
If they came to talk, he already had a cover story ready.
Still, he hadn't expected destiny to pull them into his path again. No matter how far he ran, it seemed that damned "Blue Silver Entanglement" just wouldn't let him go.
'I was too soft-hearted. I should've run farther.'
'That's it—once I finish eating, I'm leaving immediately. No more lingering in the Star Dou Great Forest!'
As for the revival of the Tang Sect?
Don't even joke about that. Count me out!
Let those little cats and dogs play their games.
A closed-minded sect clinging to outdated ideals, refusing to evolve or accept new ways—it was a relic of the past. Best let it vanish into the dust of history.
---
"Eh? Why are you wearing Yuhao's clothes?"
Tang Ya looked at Huo Yuhao. The more she examined him, the redder her cheeks became.
At first, she hadn't connected this cold, striking young man with the ordinary-looking kid who grilled fish for her not long ago. The difference was night and day.
Back then, "Huo Yuhao" looked painfully average—easy to overlook in any crowd. But now, this new Huo Yuhao exuded an icy elegance that drew attention like a magnet.
Bei Bei caught on quickly, especially when he saw the grilled fish in Huo Yuhao's hand.
"You… you're Yuhao, aren't you?"
Seeing there was no escape, Huo Yuhao looked up and admitted calmly:
"Yes, it's me."
"Wow, it is you! What happened?! How are you suddenly this handsome?! That ice-blue hair, that porcelain skin, that cold and noble vibe—it's like you've transformed into a completely different person! Honestly, I'm jealous."
As Tang Ya reached out to poke his cheek in awe, Huo Yuhao brushed her hand away.
All he could think about was leaving.
That damn Blue Silver Entanglement—he could feel it wrapping around him again.
And he hated it.
Before he could speak, Bei Bei quickly interrupted his infatuated junior sister, sounding slightly jealous:
"Alright, Xiao Ya. Yuhao probably just got his first soul ring. His looks probably changed as a side effect. Don't be so infatuated, okay? What if you scare Yuhao away?"
Tang Ya immediately snapped:
"What did you just call me?! You're supposed to say 'Teacher Xiao Ya,' got it?!"
"Yes, yes, fine—Teacher Xiao Ya. Whatever you say."
Meanwhile, Huo Yuhao had already started eating his grilled fish.
He had no time to entertain their roleplaying antics. His only goal was to fill his stomach and run. He had to admit, though—he inherited Huo Yuhao's excellent cooking skills.
---
As for his destination? He already had a plan.
The Body Sect was his most compatible choice. Unfortunately, they were extremely mysterious—only known to be located within the Heavenly Soul Empire, but no more specifics.
Rather than wait for the Body Sect to find him, he preferred to take initiative.
His next step? Travel to Tianming City, then use his Spiritual Interference Domain to stay hidden while crossing the Mingdou Mountains and entering the Sun Moon Empire. His ultimate destination: Mingdu.
With his current talent—and a martial soul and soul skills perfectly tailored for soul engineers—there was no reason the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy would reject him.
As for his identity?
He had no plans to hide it.
The people of the Sun Moon Empire weren't fools.
He knew they'd investigate once he arrived. But so what?
A twin martial soul wielder. A Body-type martial soul. A Spirit Eye martial soul compatible with Soul Guidance Devices. Who would ever associate such talent with some petty enemy spy?
Qian Renxue: Are you talking about me?
