After I finished my breakfast, I stood up and stretched slightly. Victoria was already gathering her things — a sleek black handbag and a neat stack of folders filled with documents. She checked her phone once more before slipping it away.
I glanced at her and asked,
"Is Maya already in Vietnam?"
Victoria nodded, her expression calm but focused.
"Yes. I didn't speak to her directly. I called Rachel and told her we needed a meeting. Within just a few minutes, Rachel replied that Maya had already agreed to meet us there."
I raised an eyebrow, a little surprised.
"That fast? Didn't she ask why we're going all the way to Vietnam?"
Victoria shook her head.
"No. She didn't ask a single question."
I gave a small, thoughtful smile.
"Well… that means she trusts you. Quite a lot, actually."
Victoria's lips pressed together for a moment, as if the comment had touched something she didn't want to examine too closely. She quickly changed the subject.
