Chapter 133 Kryptonian Military Fist
By: Rowing Without Oars 233
On the surface of the Moon, at the Fort Rozz outpost.
The gate was violently blasted open. By the time the alarm sounded, a steel afterimage had already rushed in, a sharp shriek tearing through the air of the base.
The automated defense system activated, and auto-targeting turrets and lasers locked onto Orin Vale's body. But a Light Energy-powered Force Field Barrier intercepted all the artillery fire. The armor plowed through the bullet rain, and with a flurry of palm strikes, the defense systems exploded one after another under the energy blasts.
The base's control center had erupted into chaos. The base commander, clad in a black combat suit, flew up to the bridge and barked, "What's the situation? Report!"
"We've been invaded!"
The operator was a blue-skinned alien with six hands, sweat beading on his forehead.
"The entrance on the southeast side of the base has been breached by an external force—"
The commander frowned. "No reaction from the radar?"
"The enemy used some unknown method to bypass the radar." The operator's expression suddenly changed. "Wait, the system... our system has been breached!"
"Impossible!"
The commander's tone was resolute.
"Fort Rozz is one of Krypton's best prisons, with a top-tier system from Krypton's golden age," he said in a low voice. "No one can hack this system."
"But—but it's true, sir. The lockdown in the southeast sector has been forcibly lifted. A nearby team has been dispatched to intercept the enemy, expected to engage in ten seconds... The team's been wiped out!"
"So fast!?"
The commander was stunned.
Was that team made of paper? Did they collapse at the first touch?
"The energy shields have been forcibly deactivated... He's coming in, he's coming in here!"
The moment the words left his mouth, the two doors to the Control Room blasted open with a boom. Red-and-silver armor crackling with lightning shot out, hovering in mid-air.
In truth, the Fort Rozz system was worlds apart from Earth technology, making it incredibly difficult to hack. However, Orin Vale now had several Kryptonian spaceships on hand and had gained a considerable understanding of their crystal-based programming.
And more importantly, he had the access codes.
Which he had 'politely' acquired from Astra and Indigo.
Maintaining his High-speed Mode, Orin Vale rushed into the Central Control Room. He hovered in mid-air, rapidly scanning the area, taking in every target in the room and quickly plotting the optimal attack route.
Lightning radiated from the armor as the Mobile Armor abruptly accelerated, streaking past the right side of the hall. Two aliens, drawing their guns as if in slow motion, were knocked off the escalator from the left and right. Even their screams seemed to be infinitely stretched out as time slowed down.
Orin Vale followed up with a mid-air Knee Strike, instantly killing one, then his sweeping kick nearly deformed the head of a Soft-bodied Alien. He performed an aerial somersault, using his Palm Cannon to take down two on the bridge, then turned to lock onto his next target...
However, his subsequent plan was cut short here.
A figure suddenly blurred into view, a heavy punch carrying an unparalleled shockwave rocketing towards the armor's faceplate. Orin Vale halted, tilting his head to dodge. With a light shift of his feet, he swayed to one side. Taking a closer look, he saw it was the commander in black who had been on the bridge.
The formidable power of the punch stirred up a shockwave, and his speed and movement technique were not to be underestimated. Clearly, a Kryptonian.
The Kryptonians imprisoned in Fort Rozz were originally soldiers who had followed Non and Astra during the "Great Purge" on Krypton. This one was now one of Non's most trusted subordinates in the Fort Rozz prison, assigned to command the team at this outpost.
Although in the TV series, this squad of Kryptonians were all mass-produced, trash-tier weaklings, completely unable to stand against Supergirl and Martian Manhunter, they were still Kryptonians, after all. They had the basic physical stats.
The man continued his relentless pursuit. Orin Vale dodged and accelerated upward, but the commander also took to the air in pursuit.
The moment the commander took flight, he broke the sound barrier, launching a preemptive, lunging Flying Kick. Orin Vale turned and performed a Lateral Dodge. Missing the kick, the commander spun around and threw a punch. Orin Vale executed a high Hand Blade block, striking the joint in his wrist at the perfect moment to neutralize the punch. The impact shockwave exploded in the frozen space.
The commander shouted, accelerating in mid-air to continue his assault, throwing a continuous barrage of two punches. Orin Vale tilted his head to avoid one, then used the back of his hand like a blade to block and neutralize the second punch from the outside of its path.
The commander flew faster and faster. After his chain of punches was neutralized, he accelerated again, launching a straight kick at Orin Vale's abdomen.
It was clear this commander had received specialized training after his superpowers awakened. His fighting style gave Orin Vale the impression of a military combat form—of moderate length, with refined movements and a clear rhythm. It lacked overly flashy or intricate patterns, prioritizing extreme simplicity and practical application in combat.
Furthermore, it was evident that his training had organically integrated this original Kryptonian military fighting style with his superpowers. The powers of flight and bursts of superspeed were intentionally fused into the principles of his strikes, and the existence of Super Speed had a revolutionary impact on the concepts of positioning and distance control in combat.
Compared to the current Rookie Superman, these Kryptonian soldiers seemed more professional in Superpower Combat.
Relatively speaking, of course.
Orin Vale had started learning how to apply his own Innate Talent in combat thousands of years ago.
The Mobile Armor once again erupted with lightning. He elegantly drifted in a circular step along the outside, gracefully avoiding the brunt of the Kryptonian's kick as if in a dance. At the same time, taking advantage of his opponent being overextended and unable to recover, he raised his leg in the direction of the Kryptonian's charge and delivered an accelerated Side Kick.
A domineering shockwave transformed into a storm that swept through the entire room. The commander had already overexerted himself, and now Orin Vale's Side Kick, moving with the direction of his attack, was almost equivalent to their combined forces striking him. The Kryptonian was launched diagonally downward in a face-planting posture, crashing through the bridge and into the lower level with a boom.
The entire base shook violently. Cracks spread along the walls, and metal fragments rained down from rifts flickering with electric sparks.
How could the other aliens on the bridge keep up with the speed of this Divine Battle? In their eyes, everything happened in a flash.
From a bystander's perspective, their boss had stepped up, gotten insta-killed, and been taken out. A complete, one-second takedown that nearly blew up the entire base along with him.
The group of henchmen were instantly scared pale.
They knew best what their boss was capable of. His body was impervious; he could withstand a laser bombardment from an interstellar spaceship, and he could dismantle a warship with his bare hands.
And yet, a boss like that got taken out in the blink of an eye?
Just what kind of monster was his opponent?
Of course, if there's one thing Kryptonians have, it's a long health bar. Although he had lost the exchange, it wouldn't be so easy to take him down for good.
A moment after being kicked away, the alloy floor was smashed through with another boom, creating a hole. The commander flew back up, disheveled and dusty, glaring furiously at Orin Vale.
"Round two, intruder," he said in a low voice. "You've picked a fight with the wrong person."
With that, an energy aura exploded behind him again, and he launched another head-on charge!
Orin Vale calmly watched him approach at high speed, fists pointed at him.
As expected.
It wouldn't be a Kryptonian if he went down that easily. Not to mention, Orin Vale hadn't even transformed yet; he wasn't using his true power at all.
But it wasn't a big problem. Encountering a Kryptonian was something he had anticipated. He had already intended to use this opportunity to test the results of his recent experiments.
Facing the Kryptonian's Boar Rush, Orin Vale didn't dodge or evade. He calmly extended a hand, spreading his five fingers.
The Light Energy in his palm churned. As the Azure Radiance radiated outwards... it turned green.
Lord, the times have changed.
This is Kryptonite Iaijutsu.
Today's third chapter was censored, and I'm currently editing it... but honestly, I can't imagine what triggered the censorship. It didn't even give me a warning, this system is ridiculous...
