Chapter 98 - Chapter 98:The Combat Power of the Angel Warship

One command after another was relayed, and the Angel Fleet's hundreds of warships swiftly activated combat mode, with all weapon systems beginning to charge.

"Jump Point coordinates..."

Once the Jump Engines of all warships were fully charged, the fleet first activated the space stabilizers, forcibly suppressing Katon's spatial disturbances to within ±5%. Only then, under Liu Hai's order, did they simultaneously initiate the Warp.

After activating the space stabilizers, the Angel Fleet, previously concealed by the Blending with Dust System, appeared on Katon Fleet's probes.

But before they could even identify which fleet it was, another intense spatial fluctuation erupted in the core region of their own fleet.

The bewildered Katon Fleet, still puzzling over why their spatial disturbances had failed, was suddenly met with violent Warp fluctuations—right in the heart of their formation. At the time, they were pursuing the transport fleet at over a dozen percent of Sublight Speed and had no time to react.

Hundreds of energy beams shot out from the Angel Fleet, which had just completed its Warp. The fire control systems, having already locked onto their targets, concentrated most of the firepower on Katon's five Standard Fortresses and one Intermediate Fortress.

Under the barrage of hundreds of Angel Battleship main guns—each beam rivaling the firepower of a fortress's main gun—the fortresses' Energy Shields were instantly torn apart.

The thick High-Energy Alloy Armor of the fortresses, now stripped of their Shields, offered no resistance. Under the stunned gazes of the Katon Fleet, the five Standard Fortresses and one Intermediate Fortress were reduced to molten metal drifting through space in mere moments.

As the hundreds of beams vanished, the nearly punctured Katon fortresses abruptly collapsed inward. The Antimatter inside, now freed from its magnetic containment, rapidly reacted with surrounding matter. One by one, the fortresses disintegrated in the annihilation of internally detonated Antimatter, vanishing from the Katon Fleet's formation.

It was as if an eraser had wiped them from existence, leaving barely any impact on the surrounding warships. Just like that, a fleet's primary firepower was gone.

The Katon Fleet's command structure vanished along with the fortresses, and without leadership, their reaction speed plummeted. Many had no idea whether they should even return fire.

Liu Hai was momentarily stunned by the sight. He knew his firepower was formidable, but he hadn't expected it to be this overwhelming—eliminating six enemy fortresses in a single volley.

Then, his expression shifted into a "Homelander smile." If one round of firepower could achieve this, and he hadn't even deployed the rest of his Armament yet...

If he was already this strong, why hold back?

Originally, the plan was for the fleet to fire one volley from their main guns, release their prepared weapons, and then immediately Warp away to avoid being targeted and sunk by the Katon Fleet.

But neither side had anticipated this outcome. The Katon Fleet was especially dumbfounded—no matter how they racked their brains, they couldn't comprehend how their fortresses had just... disappeared.

If not for the gravitational data from their probes confirming the change, they might have thought the fortresses had simply gone into optical stealth rather than being obliterated by the enemy.

Before they could process it, the Angel Fleet's second wave of strikes arrived.

Nearly two hundred warships unleashed over a thousand beams from their main and secondary guns, all enveloped in distorted space, instantly striking Katon Battleships and Motherships that hadn't yet managed to adjust their turrets.

At the same time, Liu Hai casually tossed out a massive wave of Sublight Antimatter Missiles and Space Mines, akin to a car repair shop flinging nails onto a highway—only far deadlier. His mines were lethal on contact.

The entire Katon Legion Fleet went berserk. After enduring another barrage from the Angel Fleet, they lost another hundred Battleships, with hundreds more warships damaged and on the verge of detonation. Meanwhile, millions of familiar Space Mines spread outward across the fleet's periphery.

One after another, pitch-black curtains unfurled as warships collided head-on with Sublight Antimatter Missiles and scattered Space Mines.

Countless warships were blown into even smaller metallic debris, hurtling onward with inertia, while Katon creatures in flight suits were ejected from their ships, screaming in despair over comms.

A fleet traveling at Sublight Speed had no means to rescue those clad only in standard flight suits. They could only watch helplessly as their comrades were left behind, vanishing into the void of space.

Having achieved another resounding success, Liu Hai didn't hesitate. He activated the pre-charged Jump Engines, and the entire Angel Fleet abruptly vanished from the midst of the Katon Fleet, leaving only drifting wreckage as proof of what had transpired.

It was like receiving a brutal slap—face swollen, teeth scattered—only to realize the attacker had already disappeared before retaliation was possible.

Furious and with no target to vent their rage on, the Katon Fleet's pursuit was further hampered by Liu Hai's high-speed minefield. Their momentum dwindled rapidly, and within half a minute, the transport fleet's trail was nearly out of sight.

Meanwhile, Liu Hai Warped directly into the face of another Katon Legion and unleashed another devastating assault.

This time, with experience from the previous engagement, the Angel Fleet's firepower was distributed more efficiently. Hundreds of main gun beams were evenly allocated among nearby Katon warships.

As beams tore through the void and struck the enemy vessels, the second Katon Legion's Fortresses and Battleships saw their Energy Shields shattered one by one, their armor pierced, and their Reaction Furnaces detonated on the spot.

Once again, the void was draped in black curtains as antimatter annihilation reactions devoured warships forged from High-energy Alloy, erasing all traces of their existence.

A massive chunk was torn from the fleet's formation, leaving the space where hundreds of warships had been eerily pristine—even molecular debris annihilated by antimatter.

With its command structure obliterated, the second Katon Legion reacted chaotically after the hammer blow.

Warships recklessly swung their turrets toward the Angel Fleet, firing wildly without regard for friendly fire.

Unfortunately, the Katon Fleet's counterattack was too scattered—merely uncoordinated volleys from nearby ships. Their attacks only chipped away at the Angel Battleships' Energy Shields, causing no real damage.

Same trick, repeated.

Another wave of Sublight Antimatter Missiles accompanied by Space Mines was deployed, creating a blossoming minefield that sent the incoming Katon Warships—still moving under inertia—into chaotic disarray.

Hundreds of warships were swiftly obliterated under the Angel Fleet's multi-layered assault. The wreckage of the warships, along with fragments of Katon Creatures, quickly scattered across the void, only to vanish just as rapidly amid the crossfire between both sides.
