Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: Space Creatures

"Take a look at this information, and here's the analysis report provided by the advisory team."

In the virtual conference room, Liu Hai sent the two documents to several people.

After reading the materials, Irina looked incredulous: "Are they fearless due to ignorance or just courting death? They dare to casually add the genes of an unknown organism into their genetic chain. How did they develop into a Third-level Civilization? Was it just sheer luck and stubbornness?"

Li Yali also looked regretful after reading it. What a potentially great civilization, yet they are so reckless; it's a miracle they haven't perished!

Liu Hai had already reviewed all the materials, and he felt that some parts were too important to share with Irina's side.

"This humanoid civilization is transliterated as Broli Civilization, originating from the Broli Star System over thirty light-years away. The civilization began over thirteen thousand years ago, unified eight thousand years ago, and ventured into space five thousand years ago. Over two thousand years ago, they reached Third-level Civilization, but their technology has stagnated since then."

"A young and vibrant civilization, in order to promote technological advancement, they even organized fleets to spend hundreds of years colonizing star systems thirty light-years away, hoping to acquire more resources to drive technological development."

"The turning point occurred a thousand years ago when an exploration fleet discovered a cluster of meteorites in a star system fifteen light-years away from the Broli Star System that their existing technology could not harm."

"After over a hundred years of analysis, they used High-Energy Lasers to long-term irradiate and break through the solid outer layer, extracting blood molecules that still had vitality from within. After a brief study, they integrated it into their biological optimization technology, injecting the Optimization Agent into the entire population, which caused the physical quality of the Broli people to surge over five times."

"With neural operation speeds surpassing previous levels by several times, high-frequency brainwave patterns, powerful nutrient absorption efficiency, and most importantly, transformed physical qualities and a lifespan of over a thousand years, their technology made rapid advancements."

"In less than a hundred years, they progressed from just entering the Third-level to nearly breaking through Warp Drive, stepping into the interstellar threshold of Fourth-level Civilization."

"This is also why many of their technologies seem completely mismatched with their civilization level; their rapid advancement overlooked many things they deemed unimportant, such as weaponry."

"Two hundred years ago, their genes mutated after absorbing too much external energy, and their humanoid bodies transformed into a single-celled form, losing their intelligence, and their civilization was nearly destroyed overnight."

"Whether there are any survivors remains unknown, but we must prepare for the worst."

"Additionally, there's another matter regarding the item suspected to be the remains of a special organism; the Shade Beast's cloaking ability comes from the genetic fragments of the blood molecules it extracted. Perhaps we can gain greater insights from it."

"I just have one question: have you heard of any organisms with such abilities?"

Liu Hai spoke extensively in one go, mainly to inquire about the unknown organism from Irina; otherwise, much of this information would have been significantly redacted before being shared with her.

At the very least, the truth about the destruction of the Broli Civilization and the special item would have been completely replaced with something else by the advisory team.

Irina and Elena exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of terror and delight, while Li Yali stood utterly bewildered.

After a private discussion between Irina and Elena, they decided to exchange intelligence with Liu Hai. After all, they still needed his help to retrieve that special item, and they planned to trade a portion of it back to their family's research institute.

Organizing her thoughts, Irina projected a classified document from her memory: "This is top-secret information, accessible only to those nominated as Lord candidates. Since you already possess a Life Planet and will qualify as a candidate after submitting it to the Federation for review, showing this to you now isn't a violation."

Pointing at the document, Irina continued, "The universe is vast and wondrous. Our Federation is merely a fourth-tier civilization striving toward the fifth tier—essentially at the bottom of the interstellar hierarchy."

"Many cosmic secrets are uncovered either by chance or obtained at great cost from friendly fifth-tier Humanoid Civilizations."

"This is data on a Space Creature."

"A Space Creature?" Both Liu Hai and Li Yali were stunned.

Liu Hai was shocked because such creatures—previously only seen in his homeland's fiction and games—actually existed in this universe. Countless questions arose in his mind: Did other such beings exist too?

Li Yali was simply amazed. She had never imagined creatures that could live and reproduce in the void of space. What kind of existence could thrive freely in the cosmos?

Their physical bodies must rival warships!

The two quickly scanned the document, which was brief—just over 100,000 words—accompanied by some blurry images.

What shocked them most was the final footage: a creature resembling a dolphin, magnified billions of times, chasing a massive fleet equipped with numerous planetary fortresses through space.

Every time the fleet warped away, the Space Creature would abruptly reappear beside them, swallowing a several-kilometer-long warship in a single bite.

The few seconds of footage were distorted by spatial warping, filled with diffraction patterns that obscured the details of the fleet's design. Only nearby Star Systems provided any reference for scale.

"What an incredibly powerful creature," Li Yali murmured, numb with awe. "That fleet had so many planetary fortresses, yet they didn't even attempt to fight back—just kept warping away. Were they unwilling, or simply unable?"

Liu Hai remained composed. It wasn't that he wasn't shocked, but he had already anticipated such beings. In fact, the creature in the footage fell short of the power he had envisioned—perhaps because Irina herself lacked access to higher-tier information, or maybe even the Federation had no records of stronger entities.

"A being as massive as a planet, capable of warping without fear of spatial tides... Judging from the data, its defensive capabilities must be extraordinary too. Otherwise, that fleet wouldn't have avoided confrontation entirely. More likely, resisting would have doomed the entire fleet, whereas fleeing only cost them a few ships."

Upon hearing Liu Hai's analysis, Irina nodded in confirmation: "That's indeed the case. The final footage came from a border fleet of the fifth-level Humanoid Civilization, the Elven Throne. The specifics are unknown to us, but the outcome was that the elven civilization sacrificed an entire fifth-level military corps just to lure it away from their territory."

Lure it away?

What a humiliating term.

To sacrifice an entire corps just to make it leave their territory, rather than choosing to engage in battle—from this conclusion alone, that Space Creature must have been on par with a fifth-level civilization, perhaps even stronger.
