~LAYLA~
The world around us faded: the bonfire, the lake, everything but this moment.
When we finally broke apart, breathless, Axel rested his forehead against mine, his thumb tracing my jaw. "Come with me," he whispered in a rough voice.
I nodded, unable to form words, and he took my hand, leading me back toward the cabin. We moved quickly, quietly, slipping through a side entrance to avoid the crowd.
My heart hammered with every step, anticipation building inside of me.
As we walked into our cabin, the door closing behind us, I felt a rush of adrenaline at the thought of finally being alone with him.
Axel's gaze pinned me in place, and for a heartbeat, I forgot how to breathe. He didn't move at first. Just studied me, as if deciding whether to ruin me or worship me.
Then, with a low sound in his throat, he closed the space between us. The kiss wasn't rushed this time; it was a warning filled with passion.
