The cave shook hard.
The ceiling split open, and stones began to fall like angry thunder.
Lara didn't think.
Her body moved on its own.
Lyra'thae, she whispered.
She lifted her hands.
Blue fire burst from her palms.
It climbed high above everyone, forming a bright, humming shield of light.
The falling rocks crashed into the moonfire…
but instead of crushing them, the stones turned to dust and drifted away like soft ash.
Silence filled the cave.
The soldiers stared at her with wide, stunned eyes.
They had never seen her use moonfire.
Thornak stepped closer, dust still floating in the air.
"Great work, Lara," he said quietly. "You saved us. Now we need a way out."
Lara didn't lower the shield above them.
Her left hand still held the moonfire in place, glowing bright and steady.
With her right hand, she pointed toward the blocked entrance.
"I can open it," she said. "But there may be rogues waiting."
