Kalia's face went pale. "Impossible," she whispered. "She's Moonguard. She must..."
The sorcerer's eyes snapped to Lara, burning beneath his hood. "Then where is it? Where is the light that should answer her blood?"
Lara gave a weak, bitter laugh. "Maybe it doesn't want to answer you," she said.
He rose slowly. "No… it's there. I can feel it, it's locked once more." He stepped closer. "Tell me, Moonguard, did you lose it when you crossed into the demon realm?"
Lara glared at him, her pulse hammering. "Then it's a good thing I went."
The sorcerer's magic surged again, the wind whipping through the clearing. All at once the sky turned red.
"We'll see about that," he said coldly. "If I cannot draw out your Moonfire, then I will burn it out of you."
Kalia backed away, glancing uneasily at the red sky. " Don't do anything rash my prince. We need her alive."
"Silence!" he roared, the torches flaring bright. "This is not over."
