Garran who was in chains in the dungeon, was reminiscing his moment spent with Ariana. Bedding that girl had been amazing. So much so that he had forgotten he was supposed to get something from her.
He sat quietly, staring at the floor as though the cracks in the rock might give him a way out of there.
The torchlight flickered across his face, and he looked up. He smiled happily, and quickly stood up.
"I knew she would not abandon me," he said. "Did she send you to get me out?"
Suddenly a hand slid right through him to his back. His smile froze, and for a second, he didn't believe what had just happened. He slumped forward, his chains rattling softly, his blood spreading across the stone.
There was no one else there. The figure simply climbed the steps quietly and left without looking back.
