"It is such a pleasure to meet you Fanghyr" snarled the pale faced brotherhood member.
Leo seeing the number of killers before them sighed and decided to just play along with this weird monologue.
"The same cannot be said for me".
The pale elf broke into a fit of maniacal laughter before he ended it with a frown "That is expected, after all we are here to kill you, which is also fair considering how your stupid order foiled so many of our plans".
"Enough with the chit-chat "Leo interrupted growling.
"It seems our estimate of their numbers has been rather false this time around" he further thought angry that the brotherhood had somehow gained an upper hand over the Night.
"Brothers get ready, for tonight shall be the end of the elven royal family and the Night" roared the pale faced elf who begzn the charge towards the duo.
The rest of the twenty-nine elves followed after him; weapons shimmering in the darkness.
Leo dodged the pale elf's strike with a sidestep to the left and evaded a thrust by catching the elf by the neck before hurling him at the rest of his charging comrades.
{I'm going to head inside} Emelda slowly retreated, giving Leo no further explanation as she left his side, fifteen brotherhood members noticed this and with quick steps followed the Princess into the pitch darkness.
"Finally, there is enough space for me to move around" The Princess smiled; her rapier resting comfortably as she took on a fencing stance.
The fifteen elves surrounded the elven princess each of them advancing in caution, for it was known that there was a reason why elven royalty rarely travelled with guards.
This of course was simply a testament to their magical talent and swordplay.
"No matter the strength of her royal bloodline, there is still no possible way for her to overcome our numerical advantage" thought one of the men as he snickered.
{Really?}
The elf's eyes widened in shock, both from the voice that sounded in his head and from the short moment of pain he felt in his chest before everything went black.
"Who's next? Emelda asked, pulling her rapier from the elf's heart making the rest of the elves to curse while they themselves wondered how she had escaped from the circle they had made.
With another yell a bulky elf collapsed onto the ground, while the lanky one next to him fell down with a green arrow sticking out of his head.
"Don't just stand there, surround her! Roared an elf with a longsword. The remaining twelve once again surrounded a very still Emelda.
"You all should learn how to fight without thinking" she smiled "And try to make this fight a little bit interesting".
The twelve all closed in on her each aiming a vicious attack of their own as they threw all form of caution and defense to the wind.
Emelda sealed off the rest of her senses as she focused on the telepathic pictures of the thoughts of her attackers.
Seeing that the first one was going to attack with a feint and then an upper handed slash, Emelda dodged the attack and killed him by stabbing his heart, using his body to shield herself from an attempted stab by a nearby elf.
On noticing that regardless of her seeming advantage, she could still make a mistake due to the overwhelming number of her opponents, Emelda began to mutter a string of elvish words as she narrowly dodged her opponents every move.
Flipping over a charging elf, Emelda kicked the elf with the longsword smack on his face using the momentum of the flip.
Unfortunately for the princess, a downed elf suddenly lunged, tackling her wildly and slamming her into some tables.
"It's over" the elf thought as his sword came down like a hammer on an anvil.
{For you}
"ODRESIA!" Emelda hollered seconds before the sword could pierce her throat.
A huge illusory ankh appeared on the roof of the hall that was immediately followed by a blinding light that momentarily dispersed the darkness surrounding them.
Pushing off the still elf on top of her, Emelda wiped the fresh blood of her armor and continued towards the entrance of the hall.
She stepped over another body and on changing her mind sat down on a chair that had somehow remained standing despite the earlier commotion.
"I shouldn't have used that spell" Emelda sighed , her drooping eyes observing the dead bodies of dark hooded elves that littered the space around her....
A few mages on seeing that many of their opponents in the castle had dropped down dead moved closer to what they believed could have been the source of the ridiculous mana that could perform a spell of that magnitude.
"I believe our savior must be over there" suggested a red-haired mage "Then let's go and have a better look" Hamilton agreed, leading the rest of them towards the front of the banquet hall..
A sensory spell revealed to the mages a female elf on the floor, surrounded by broken furniture and various scorch marks that blackened the floor.
"It's the princess! The red haired eyes opened wide in shock.
"She needs help" a female blonde added rushing towards the unconscious princess.
"Must have used too much mana in that attack" Hamilton said and taking another look noticed the blood trickling out of her mouth, shook his head.
"Someone put her in this state".
"Your darn right I did" replied a voice from the surrounding darkness "It's even a wonder how she is still alive".
All of the mages eyes opened wide in horror as they watched the figure remove the dark hood obscuring his face.
"But how and Why? Hamilton asked as he and the rest of the other mages prepared a barrage of spells to defend themselves.
Staring back at them with snow white hair and an elderly stoic face was Wulfe, two purple fireballs appearing almost instantly on his two outstretched hands.
" OH, why the long face?
"You shall pay for this betrayal" shouted all the mages at once as they charged towards the traitor.
"This will be most certainly fun" smiled Wulfe.
