Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5:Rogue Elves

Leo looked down the tree, counting the number of elves gathered below it.

The oldest of the group; a tall weathered elf with snow white hair added some more wood to the fire before addressing the five young elves seated around him.

"Time and time again the humans have tried on various occasions to wipe our race from the face of the realm.

And now as the universe has foretold in the times of the white dragon, the elf liberator 'Draghyr' has awoken from his slumber and soon he shall lead our elven warriors in a righteous campaign that shall wipe the filthy humans for good.

The white haired elf gazed at the sky with a wide smile.

"My children, all Draghyr needs from you in this holy campaign is your lives and utmost dedication to this worthy cause".

"Is Queen Flowyria aware of this, elder? Interrupted one of the young elves with raven black hair.

The elder on hearing the name of the elven queen growled "That she-devil is just a human with pointy ears. She has put the ancestral bloodline to shame and as such must share their punishment".

"But the humans and elves are currently prospering. The raven hair countered.

" I mean, some have even strengthened our bond with various marriages? He added, getting to his feet.

The white elder gave a long growl before breaking into a fit of laughter.

"Vandrel don't forget the many elven lives and lands that the humans have forcefully taken from us.

The brotherhood shall in the name of Draghyr the great perform a cleansing that will shake the very foundation of this cursed world, the cleansing shall include the Halflings and all 'elves' who refuse to join the brotherhood". The elder glared at Vandrel as he stressed the word 'elves'.

Vandrel shook his head as though in disappointment before he walked out of the gathering.

"I'm so sorry my dear nephew" The elderly elf sighed, raising his index and middle finger in a gesture towards the other young elves.

One of the elves shook his head in pity and raised a beautiful oak bow, aiming at the departing elf.

He drew his bow to its full length but luckily the arrow never left the bow and instead another projectile soared through the sky, settling into his back with a sickening thud.

The white haired elf roared in anger as he noticed movements in the tree above him.

"Assassin!

Like a cat Leo descended silently from the tree raising his right dagger in front of him. He was currently dressed in a dark blue cloak ending in a hood that covered most of his face while underneath a beautiful black blue suit stuck to his body.

"Fanghyr? Trembled one of the elves as he like the others drew beautiful long swords that were similar to the one used by the elf from the other day.

Leo rolled to the left evading an attempted slash while he recovered his dagger from the fallen elf.

Getting to his feet he dodged a slash from the white haired elf before jumping back to disengage from the approaching blades.

Another elf ran forward, silver great sword held high above his head as he tried to split Leo into half.

Leo moved to the left dodging the attack, following it up with a spin that ended in a vast torrent of blood.

The rest of the elves watched in horror as their comrade fell to the ground dead; blood spewing from his severed neck.

"Take heart my children, he is nothing but a little man child" the white haired elf said lunging at the assassin in a superhuman thrust as he seemingly turned into a blur.Leo's eyes glowed bright blue and in one swift motion he caught the great sword in his right gauntlet.

"Little? Leo mockingly asked, squeezing the sword lightly.

The white haired elf recovered from the shock quite quickly, drawing a small blade in an attempt to stab Leo in the head using his now free right hand.

Leo with a creepy smile moved his head to the right dodging the sneak attack before lodging his own left dagger deep into the elf's throat.

The other elves stood in abject terror watching him while they fearfully raised their weapons.

Leo withdrew the dagger from the old elf's neck, fighting the urge to laugh as he observed the shocked and pained look on the dying elder's face before he dropped to the ground dead.

"Hand yourselves over peacefully and I promise no harm shall befall you" .

The assassin faced the remaining.

"Never! Roared a silver haired elf as he charged at Leo.

Leo on observing his approaching target clawed at the air, seconds before the elf's body split into five bloody pieces.

The other elves stood frozen in place their hands gripping their swords tightly while long beads of sweat mixed with their recently killed comrade's blood ran down their faces.

Leo sheathed the daggers while he walked forward; his right gauntlet dripping blood and giving off a deadly vibe to the elves that had lost their morale to fight.

"I will advise you surrender now, after all you are not warriors but simply pawns that have been armed with a blade". "And please don't run, it only makes it harder for the both of us". yawned Leo.

*Pop*

The elves on hearing this in one swift motion popped what looked like a brown bean into their mouths before collapsing to the ground. .

Leo slapped his forehead in frustration cursing himself for not seeing this possible outcome.

"Who goes around carrying deadly beans in their pockets". He sighed, his face quickly taking on a frown when his ears picked up the noise of approaching footsteps.

A tall brown haired elf dressed in a purple cloak stepped out from the darkness into the light of the fire a grin implanted on his heavily scarred face.

"We meet again Panther and hopefully for the last".

Leo's frown grew even deeper, watching the red fireball the mage had formed on his two hands.

"Nice to see you too Vilfortz".
