Chapter 101 - Chapter 101 Weighted Clothing

With this piece of clothing, Kyoya would essentially be in a perpetual state of training… the effects couldn't be better.

Kyoya planned to keep this Shihakusho, along with the Captain's Haori that Kisuke would make for him three days later, forever.

In the future, once the gravity training equipment was completed, wearing these clothes while training would yield far better results than training under gravity alone.

Of course, that meant Kyoya couldn't start with tenfold gravity or higher right away.

Under the same level of gravity, the heavier the object, the greater the weight it would bear.

For example, Kyoya's two specially made weighted clothing would weigh over 40,000 kilograms under double gravity, and over 200 tons under tenfold gravity.

To put it simply, if Kyoya wore these clothes and trained under tenfold gravity, he could easily obliterate his unweighted self without breaking a sweat.

The gravity equipment and these two custom-made garments would be a tremendous help to Kyoya.

That was precisely why Kyoya had promised Kisuke a personal favor in return.

As for whether Kisuke would eventually use this favor to ask Kyoya to deal with Aizen in the future, Kyoya didn't really care.

While it might be a shame not to fight Aizen at his peak, there was still Yhwach to look forward to.

"Haha, seems like I got the better end of the deal."

Kisuke scratched the back of his head and laughed.

Although, in Kisuke's opinion, there was almost no scenario where he'd need to call in Kyoya's favor. But since Kyoya had offered, he accepted it anyway.

'Maybe it'd come in handy for Yoruichi someday.'

In the 11th Division's barracks, Rangiku stood with one arm crossed and the other hand on her chin, circling Kyoya with a scrutinizing gaze.

Kyoya's forehead twitched with irritation.

If not for the fact that he was currently wearing clothes weighing over two tons, making it difficult to control his strength properly, he would've already smacked Rangiku into the ground.

"Hey, Rangiku, aren't you tired of walking around me like this?"

"More than that, I'm curious about why you're not training today, Kyoya."

Rangiku frowned, "From the day I met you until now, I've never seen you take more than a single day off."

"But ever since you came back from the 12th Division yesterday, I haven't seen you train at all…"

"Something's off about you, Kyoya!"

Hearing Rangiku say this, Kyoya glared at her.

"Well, have you considered the possibility that I've already gotten so strong I don't need to train anymore?"

"Huh?"

Rangiku's laughter died in her throat as she stared blankly at Kyoya.

If anyone else had said that, she would've dismissed it as a joke.

Seriously, aside from Yamamoto, who else was strong enough to stop training altogether?

But when those words came from Kyoya's mouth, Rangiku couldn't help but feel they might be true.

When Kyoya first entered the Shin'ō Academy, his Reiryoku was only at the 10th-class.

Yet, in just three months, he had already made a name for himself in Zanjutsu.

In less than a year, he completed his studies at the Shin'ō Academy and graduated successfully.

His Zanpakutō was the strongest light-type Zanpakutō.

Soon after joining the Gotei 13, he defeated the Captain of the 11th Division and took his place.

Now, eighteen years had passed since Kyoya became the captain of the 11th Division.

Given that it had only taken him a year to reach captain-level, eighteen years was more than enough time for Kyoya to reach the pinnacle of what a Shinigami could achieve.

"..."

Rangiku's reaction left Kyoya at a loss for words.

He hadn't expected her to trust him so much.

Kyoya had only been teasing casually, but she actually believed him.

For some reason, he felt both amused and touched.

'Fortunately, I now have the ability to protect Rangiku and Gin.'

"Idiot."

Kyoya shook his head, "Alright, I'm not so strong that I don't need to train anymore. I just found a better training method."

"You might not see me doing anything, but in reality, I'm training 24 hours a day."

"Huh? Really?"

Rangiku's eyes lit up: "Then, Kyoya, would this method work for Gin too?"

Kyoya rolled his eyes.

'Of course, when something good happens, the first person you think of is Gin, right?'

"Well, it would have some effect."

"But definitely not as good as it is for me."

"As for how much it'll improve Gin's strength, that depends on whether he can endure it."

"Then wait here, I'll go get Gin right now!"

Without waiting for Kyoya to respond, Rangiku dashed out of the Captain's office in a whirlwind.

"This Rangiku..."

Kyoya sighed but had no intention of stopping her.

In less than ten minutes, Gin dragged Rangiku back to stand before Kyoya.

It seemed that when it came to improving his strength, Gin was far more eager than Rangiku.

"Captain Kyoya!"

"Alright, don't look at me like that, Gin."

"It's not like this is some big secret anyway."

Before Gin could say anything else, Kyoya raised a hand to cut him off.

"Tell me, what's different about me today compared to yesterday?"

Hearing this, Gin narrowed his eyes and scrutinized Kyoya carefully.

As someone who had followed Aizen and analyzed his weaknesses, Gin's observational skills were beyond doubt.

Soon, he noticed something unusual about Kyoya.

For example, in the past, when Kyoya wasn't fighting, he always seemed lazy, as if nothing mattered to him. But now, though his expression hadn't changed, his body seemed to be in a state of constant tension, as if exerting force against something.

Seeing the surprise on Gin's face, Kyoya knew he had noticed something.

He stretched out his right hand toward Gin and said: "Want to try?"

Gin's expression turned serious. He reached out and gripped Kyoya's wrist…

Boom!

A tremendous force surged through, causing Gin's face to pale. He immediately flared his Reiatsu, his entire body enveloped in blue Reiatsu, just to withstand the crushing weight and prevent himself from being flattened by Kyoya's arm alone.

"This is…?"

Gin quickly realized that this wasn't Kyoya actively pressing down on him.

Instead, Kyoya had relaxed his own strength, allowing Gin to feel the full weight.

Soon, Gin's gaze shifted to Kyoya's Shihakusho and Captain's Haori.

Because just now, when Kyoya's sleeve had brushed against the desk, it had cracked the sturdy wood under its sheer weight.

And that was just from the slightest brush of his sleeve.

If Gin hadn't managed to stop Kyoya's arm from dropping completely, allowing more of the Shihakusho's sleeve to press down on the desk, the entire table might have been crushed by just half a sleeve.

"It's the clothes?"

"Exactly."

Kyoya lifted his hand again, taking back the weight of the clothes, and nodded at Gin.

"These clothes were specially made for me by Captain Urahara of the 12th Division."

"Together, the Shihakusho and Captain's Haori weigh about thirty tons."

"Hiss-"

Both Gin and Rangiku sucked in sharp breaths at Kyoya's words.

"Thirty tons… that's…"

They really couldn't fathom how Kyoya could move so naturally while wearing clothes that heavy.

If it were them, without using Reiatsu to protect themselves, they'd probably be crushed into paste.

Even with Reiatsu, they'd be lucky to escape with anything less than severe injuries.

"Here's my thinking."

Kyoya had no intention of keeping this method to himself: "If we get used to carrying this weight all the time, then on the day we actually fight and remove the weighted clothing, our speed will get an insane boost."

"At the same time, wearing weighted clothes constantly trains our bodies, making us stronger."

"But for you two, you don't need something this heavy right away."

"Rangiku, you can start with 25 kilograms."

"Gin, you can try 50 kilograms first to get used to it."

"After all, unlike Rangiku, you're often out on missions. If your strength isn't at a certain level, suddenly encountering a powerful enemy could be dangerous."

"Alright."

Gin nodded.

He wanted to say that, given his Zanpakutō's abilities, he could handle heavier weights.

But with Rangiku right beside him, if he said that, she'd just worry more during his missions.

So it's better to follow Kyoya's advice by starting with 50 kilograms and gradually increase from there.

But still…

Watching Kyoya move so effortlessly, Gin couldn't help but sigh.

The gap between people was just ridiculously vast.

Kyoya was wearing thirty tons like it was nothing, while Gin had to start with a measly 50 kilograms just to avoid compromising his safety.

That said, Gin fully approved of Kyoya's training method.

If one day he could handle the same weight as Kyoya, maybe even Aizen wouldn't seem so unbeatable anymore.

He had never given up on the idea of reclaiming what Aizen had taken from Rangiku with his own hands.

"Oh, right."

As Rangiku and Gin turned to leave, Kyoya suddenly remembered something and called them back.

"Rangiku, Gin… I think this training method could be useful for the entire 11th Division."

"Go ask the others what they think. If anyone wants to try weighted training, have them sign up with you, then head to the 12th Division to get custom-weighted clothing made."
