Chapter 59 - Chapter 59 Philosophy

With Kyoya's support, Suzuki's special talent was fully utilized.

In less than five minutes, nearly all the Shinigami of the 11th Division had gathered on the training grounds.

This also left Kyoya with a slight regret.

If Suzuki were stronger and had achieved his Zanpakuto's Shikai, Kyoya might have even considered directly appointing him as the 11th Division's Lieutenant.

That way, unless a Hollow above the Gillian-level appeared, Kyoya could practically leave everything to him.

According to past records, Hollows stronger than Gillians appeared in the Soul Society an average of about ten times a year.

Since his body hadn't fully grown yet, Kyoya stood in mid-air to enhance his authority, positioning himself half a head higher than the assembled Shinigami of the 11th Division.

"Everyone, I am Kyoya, the new Captain of the 11th Division!"

"It's a pleasure to meet you all."

"I've gathered you here for just one thing."

Boom!

A torrential Reiatsu erupted from Kyoya's body.

Along with it came the sword intent of a Master Swordsman from the One Piece World.

The sharp sword intent, amplified by his Reiatsu, took on a tangible edge, exuding a terrifying, oppressive aura.

Including Ichinose, none of the Shinigami dared to move under Kyoya's overwhelming sword intent, fearing that even the slightest action might draw its cutting force upon them.

"The 11th Division is a place where only the strong can stand."

"But my definition of 'strong' and 'weak' isn't based solely on power… it's defined by actions."

"The strong raise their blades against the stronger."

"The weak vent their violence on the weaker."

"I hope that all of you in the 11th Division will be warriors who dare to challenge the strong, not cowards who bully the weak."

"Do you want to be strong, shining with courage? Or do you want to be despicable tyrants who only prey on those beneath you?"

Under Kyoya's forceful questioning, the Shinigami fell silent, each reflecting on what kind of Shinigami they truly wanted to be.

Previously, during Kiganjo's rule, his temperament had gradually influenced the 11th Division, making them increasingly prone to anger and brutality.

To cope with the constant fear of being beaten or killed by Kiganjo, they had turned to tormenting those weaker than themselves as an outlet for their terror.

By Kyoya's current definition, most of them had been 'weak bullies'.

Now that Kiganjo had been killed by Kyoya, and the fear of sudden injury or death was gone… would they still act the same way?

"Captain Kyoya, we don't want to be weak! We want to be 'strong'!"

Finally, after one person voiced this sentiment, the others, resonating with the declaration, began shouting their desire to become true 'warriors'.

"We want to be strong!"

"Become strong!"

"Strong!"

"Strong!"

Watching the Shinigami before him raising their fists and shouting, Kyoya nodded in satisfaction.

He was well aware that among these cheering Shinigami, a significant portion were simply swept up in the moment, compelled to follow the tide.

However, Kyoya also believed that environment shapes people.

As long as the majority of the 11th Division upheld this philosophy, the remaining minority would naturally follow.

As for those Shinigami who couldn't adapt to this ideal—they would inevitably leave the 11th Division on their own.

"Good. I've heard your voices and felt your conviction."

"Now then…"

Kyoya lowered his gaze to Ichinose, who is standing at the front of the ranks.

Amid the earlier cheers, Ichinose had clearly been moved, yet he hadn't joined the others in shouting.

"Ichinose, do you have any objections to the philosophy of strength I've set for the 11th Division?"

"No."

Ichinose shook his head.

Though he still struggled to accept that Kiganjo had been killed by Kyoya, he couldn't deny that the ideals Kyoya proposed were far better than the 'might makes right' brutality that had defined the 11th Division under Kiganjo's rule.

He is not an unreasonable person and couldn't bring to say anything against his will.

"Then, are you willing to uphold this philosophy and ensure the rest of the 11th Division follows it?"

"If you are willing, the position of 11th Division's Lieutenant is yours."

Ichinose fell silent for a long moment before finally shaking his head again: "I'm sorry, Captain Kyoya, but I..."

"I understand."

Kyoya didn't let him finish, raising a hand to stop him.

"Very well. For now, the position of Lieutenant in the 11th Division will remain vacant."

"Everyone, return to your duties… missions, training, whatever you must do."

"Oh, and from now on, I'll set aside one day each month to provide guidance in training. Anyone who's free can come to the training grounds. We'll share knowledge and grow stronger together."

"Really, Captain Kyoya?!"

Hearing what Kyoya said, all the Shinigami on the training grounds immediately erupted in disbelief.

After graduating from the Shin'o Academy, the only way for Shinigami to learn new techniques was through guidance from senior members of their divisions.

And the strongest in any division were, of course, the Captains.

Upon becoming a captain, one gained access to the Great Spirit Book Gallery, a repository of all knowledge since the Soul Society's creation, including records of major events, advanced Kido incantations, Zanjutsu styles, and more.

Captains could seek out powerful Kido or sword styles within the Great Spirit Book Gallery to refine their abilities.

And Captains could also choose to pass on what they learned to those they deemed worthy.

Kyoya hadn't yet visited the Great Spirit Book Gallery. Aside from his swordsmanship, everything he knew still came from his instructors at the academy.

As for the abilities granted by the One Piece Achievement System, Kyoya wasn't so generous as to teach them before mastering them himself.

Even if he did share them, it would only be techniques like the Rokushiki… not the three types of Haki, which he barely understood and couldn't teach properly.

Moreover, the three Haki were key to his future battles against Aizen and the Wandenreich. The less exposed they were, the better.

Under Kiganjo's leadership, the idea of the Captain teaching his subordinates had been unthinkable.

The strength these Shinigami had now is basically achieved through fighting.
