Chapter 3: Roulette Open
"Death?"
Aisei was shocked to see the quest displayed by the Chamber. He had to save the dwarves — but where? And the time limit was only 1 day, 12 hours, and 59 minutes?
He fell into deep thought. Usually, the Chamber would assign quests based on the current situation. So far, he had only been to two places since his extraordinary powers awakened — Mount KIR and the High School of KIR.
(If it's at the school… I remember hearing yesterday, there were still many people alive there...)
But if it wasn't at the school, they'd have to go to Mount KIR — and that area was huge.
(The edge? The middle? Or... arghhh!)
Aisei held his head, frustrated. He quickly woke up Ajuka, who was sound asleep, and explained everything.
"Where do you think it is? This is the first time there's a penalty… never happened before. I feel like it must be one of those two places," said Aisei.
Ajuka also thought only those two locations made sense.
But if they chose Mount KIR, and the dwarves were actually at the school…not enugh time and Aisei would die.
Mount KIR was in the south, while the High School of KIR was in the north.
In the end, they made a decision.
Aisei would go to Mount KIR.
Ajuka would go to the High School.
If there were no signs of dwarves at the school, Ajuka would immediately head for the mountain. He started preparing.

Aisei was still anxious. The noise at the school yesterday had been quite loud.
(If I could get an item from the Chamber… maybe I could let Ajuka use it too.)
"Chamber! Use token!"
It was his last token.
(Please… give me something useful, pleaseee...) — Aisei prayed. For the first time, he truly hoped.
Thud! – Thud! – Thud!
Three black ball symbols appeared.
Aisei take out black ball from the chamber and haded of the black ball to Ajuka.
"If you give it to me, what are you going to use, Sei?" asked Ajuka. "I don't want it. I'm just scouting, anyway."
"Even if you're just scouting, it's better to be cautious. Take it. I just got another one from the Chamber."
Ajuka finally accepted the ball along with 5 Emergency Pills. He merged the ball with his machete and tested it on a rock in front of him.
CRAKKKK!
The rock split.
Seeing that, Aisei smiled in relief.
"Juka, you need to be careful. If you can't win — run."
"I know. We already made a rule, right? If you can't handle it, retreat. Don't be a fool."
Aisei chuckled.
"If I die… please take care of Prof, okay?"
Ajuka smiled.
"Okay, but if you live and I die, you have to take care of him instead."
Aisei smiled.
(If both of us die, that old man better learn to fend for himself...) — they both thought, with a small smile.
They exchanged one last look before parting ways.
Though it wasn't his responsibility, Ajuka still wanted to help.
To Ajuka, Aisei wasn't just a friend — he was family.
Perhaps it was because both of them had witnessed their family members being killed right before their eyes.
That's why Ajuka was willing to do anything for the only "family" he had left.

Aisei arrived at Mount KIR, but heavy rain and lightning made it hard to use the Sound Radar.
"You really want me dead, huh?" he muttered, staring at the sky.
He entered the mountainous area, starting with the right path. He would check the middle and left paths later, one by one.
He knew it was impossible to explore the whole area in a short time. But lives were at stake. He had to find the dwarves as fast as possible.
Along the way, Aisei marked the paths he took, so Ajuka would know which routes he had already explored.

Side Quest: Defeat the Giant Snake

A giant snake appeared — massive, long, vicious.
Aisei drew his aura machete and attacked.
Shak! Shak! — blood spurted from the snake's body.
Suddenly — BAM! — the snake countered, its fangs unbelievably strong.
(I need to strike its eyes… but its head moves insanely fast!)
Aisei climbed a tree and used a smoke bomb created by Prof Johar.
Sssshttt! FWOOSH!
Thick smoke engulfed the area. The snake became disoriented.
The rain stopped.
"Nice… the rain's stopped. Guess you want me to live after all?"
He smiled.
He activated the Sound Radar — focusing on the snake's breathing.
(Oh… over there.)
He threw a branch as a decoy, then leapt from tree to tree toward the snake's head.
SHAKKKKK!
Aisei stabbed its left eye. Without hesitation,make it fast he slashed toward the right eye.
The snake writhed in agony and collapsed.
Aisei fell, gasping for breath.
"Huh… huh… huh…"
[Ting!]

Aisei sliced the snake's body from tail to head — nothing. But when he cut open the head, a glowing stone appeared — greenish-yellow!
(My exhaustion was finally worth it.)
He took the stone. It started glowing, like when he defeated the two-tailed fox.
But this time was different — he didn't pass out.
MicroCell Gen-9 Charging
10%... 20%... 30%... System Error... 40%... System Error...
The Stone glow faded.
"Huh…"
He felt like there was a new system in his body. He entered his mind and asked the Chamber.

[Entering the Chamber]
"Hello..? Hello MicroCell..? Hello Gen..? Hello System..? Hello?"
(-_-) No response. Silence.
But beside the Slot 777, a new machine rose from the floor — Roulette.
"Chamber, status!"

Aisei approached the new machine. It required 2 tokens to play.
He inserted 2 tokens. ("Now I'm broke -_-")
The white ball landed on number 11.
Eleven face-down cards and a die appeared. Each side of the die showed:
3 sides — number 1
2 sides — number 2
1 side — number 3
He rolled the die: it showed number 2.
He had to choose 2 cards from the eleven card.
Card 1: Picture of a door. "Storage Room. Select Yes to activate, No to store."
Card 2: Picture of shoes. "+2 Agility."
He activated Card 1 — a small door appeared in the Chamber.
"...an empty room? This is it?" — about 5x6 feet.
He used Card 2 — Agility increased from 20 to 22.
He returned to Slot 777, used 4 more tokens.

He exited the Chamber and placed the snake's body into the Storage Room — a special space that could hold real-world items.

Back to Ajuka.
On his way to the High School of KIR, Ajuka was attacked by four wolves.
But he wasn't fazed at all.
He opened two vials of blood and tossed them into the air.
The blood transformed into Crystals — sharp at both ends, floating in the air.
With his aura machete, he attacked.
SHAKK! SHAKK!! SHAKK!
Two were killed with the Blood Crystals.
Another fell to the aura machete.
"Hehe… hehe…"
Ajuka grinned. His eyes were sharp — intimidating.
The last wolf trembled in fear.
Ajuka shaped his Blood into a Missile and fired it directly at the heart.
SHAKK!
He searched for a glowing stone — but found nothing.
Exhausted, he took one Emergency Pill.
A few minutes later, his body recovered.
As usual, Ajuka buried the wolves' bodies far from the main path — known as the safe zone.
If not, other creatures would be drawn to it.
Finally, Ajuka arrived at the High School of KIR.
Suddenly, his hairs stood on end. A sense of danger crept in.
He climbed the broken wall and stealthily entered the school grounds.
"BZZZZZ… BZZZZZZZ…"
Sweat dripped from his forehead.
"…what is that?..."
