Chapter 4 - Married

Zak's POV

I was afraid I was dreaming. If I was dreaming, I never want to wake up. My Alya was beside me. She looked gorgeous today, with her dark red dress. The second I laid my eyes on her, my legs felt shaky. It was a miracle I was able to stand straight. When she stared at me nervously with a small smile, I was ready to give anything to her, even my soul. Call me lovestricken or loser, I do not care.

Alya, the light of my life was my wife. She was officially my wife. I felt as the happiest man on the planet. I could jump in joy and do a thousand cartwheels, yet that would not be enough to express my joy.

She does not like me, though. But, she will one day.

A nagging voice in my head asked 'what if she never likes you?'

I tried to bury that voice.

If she does not like me, I will let her go.

Just kidding.

The stupid jerk she liked was at the wedding today yet she didnt seem to notice hum, which made me really happy. He doesn't deserve her. Truth be told, I do not deserve her, yet I am selfish and want her for myself.

She looks adorable when she sleeps, her mouth slightly agape and her nose slightly scrunched as she falls into a deep slumper on my lap.

Third person POV

"We are here, sir," announced Ralph, the driver. Zak and Alya had arrived at Zak's mansion. Zak thanked the driver quietly, taking care to not wake up Alya, who was still asleep lying on his lap. Zak carried Alya, a small smile on his lips as he watched her sleeping figure, she looked at peace.

The maids were waiting for Zak, eager to see the new wife of their boss. They have heard many rumours about the relationship between Zak and Alya. Rumours included Alya attempting to commit suicide to try convince Zak to break off their marriage, Alya shaving off her head in an effort to seem ugly to convince Zak to give up their marriage and the most ridiculous rumour was that Alya was pregnant and had three children and that is why she did not want to marry. So, all really good things about our protagonist, Alya (sarcasm).

Zak silently greeted the maids and then put his lips to his mouth, hinting at them to not make a sound. He was afraid Alya would wake up and did not want the peaceful expression on her face to disappear.

Whilst Zak made his way upstairs to the master bedroom to put his sleeping beauty to bed, the maids downstairs huddled together to gossip.

"I thought their relationship was bad, but the boss seems to really care for her," Rita said. This was different to the rumours. If the young lady boss was really that bad, the boss would not care for her that much, right? Unless, he was a psychopath.

"That does not mean that the young lady boss isn't bad. I heard from my friend's auntie's daughter that the young lady boss tried to seduce the boyfriend of her best friend. And, since it is from my friend's auntie's daughter, it must be true." said Veera. All the other maids were shocked at Veera's news, slightly disgusted with the new young ladyboss yet they did not completely believe Veera. Though Veera claimed she knew all the gossip in high society, she was wrong more than half the time.

"Regardless, we must treat her well," responded Sirina, the oldest amongst the younger maids and the most mature. All the other maids nodded in agreement.
