Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 – The First Day of Training

After Lin Xuèyàn Yuyan had healed from her injuries she was able to start training her father briefly went into the theoretically aspect where he talked about the difference between Body Tempering Realm for the normal six element cultivators and Xuèyàn cultivators.

"You see Yuyan ,xuèyàn cultivators have different cultivation methods than the normal earth, wind, fire, water, light and dark cultivator since our power mostly comes from our blood which means a xuèyàn cultivator in the 3rd stage of Qi refining with a Blood Ignition body can easily beat a 2nd stage golden core cultivator "

Yuyan sits in the Crimson Stone Courtyard intensively listening to her father with great interest and enthusiasm taken in every word with great passion

"So that's why we learn Body Tempering and do not skip it they are three different ways of learning Body Tempering 1 like normal cultivator focusing mostly on strengthen the body and preparing it for cultivation,2 the method made by past xuèyàn clan elders specially mad for members of the xuèyàn clan focusing on combining spiritual energy with the xuèyàn clans blood arts and 3 hybrid Body Tempering Path which like its name is the act of practicing both 1 and 2 making it most effective but it is harder and more painful to learn so most avoid it but Yuyan which do you want to learn "

Yuyan thinks for a few minutes then choose to go with the hybrid body tempering path "I want to learn number 3 the hybrid body tempering path"

Her father looks at her Warily as if to confirm her decision" are you sure Yuyan it going to be painful "

Yuyan confirmed her choice with all confidence "yes father I chose the hybrid body tempering path no matter the difficulty it brings "

Lin Jinhai admires his daughter's confidence although hard to accept her choice at first he gives a small smile "if you say so but remember there is no quitting "

Yuyan nod serious and unwavering "understood father I will not give up no matter what "

"Hope you keep that promise "

He turns back to serious mentor mode"so let's start with simple wait lifting "

"Yeah like does boulders "

Yuyan point two rock connect with another probably weighing about 200 grams ,her father looks towards where she is pointing

"Of course not that is most just a decorative object although it is move able it is too easy to carry I'm even thinking of getting rid of it"

Yuyan looks at the boulder then at her dad again and again to make sure that he believes a child about 5-6 years old to life something larger than more than five times her size or more

Her father stands there unbothered by her reaction then one of her father's most trusted servant brings a boulder about 2000 kilograms "is this what you ask for my lord hope I got the size right "

He dropped the ginormous boulder and Yuyan can swear the ground shook but both her father and the servant Fang Zhi stands there unbothered like it's just another Tuesday morning while Yuyan stands there wandering if it's only her who felt the vibration caused by simply gently putting the boulder on the ground

Her father calm as a cucumber "this is the stone you will be carrying you know baby steps "

Yuyan looks at her father wandering if she's hearing wrong but her father just tells her to go and lift it she momentarily thinks she has schizophrenia but it just affects her ears making her hear something that doesn't exist then her father repeats making her snap out of it

"Yes father "

Yuyan goes to the boulder and tries to lift it both is unable to

She was a bit disheartening

"Don't worry yuyan will all fail at first"

Fang zhi also tries to cheer her up "don't worry little miss at least you tried that's what matters "

She cheers up a little bit "I guess so"

Lin Jinhai "don't worry Yuyan you still have the stance holding, log carrying before the Scarlet Pulse Circulation training exercise so don't worry you should at least get be able to pass at least one of this if you don't it is still your first time so i don't really expect you to "

Fang Zhi fetched a thick, freshly cut log, at least twice her height and heavy enough that it would have crushed her in her old life.

"Second exercise—log carrying," her father said matter-of-factly. "Balance, endurance, and willpower."

Yuyan gritted her teeth, braced her arms, and tried to lift it. It rolled right out of her grip, knocking her onto her backside.

She groaned. "I'm starting to think you're trying to kill me before the Heavenly Dao Sect gets the chance."

Her father only smirked. "Better you collapse here in the courtyard than on a battlefield."

The final challenge came: Stance Holding. Yuyan had to squat with her arms extended, a large wooden tray resting on them, while maintaining perfect posture. Within two minutes her legs were shaking like leaves in a storm, her arms screaming in protest.

And then—down went the tray.

Her father crossed his arms. "Fail, fail, fail."

Yuyan hung her head. "So… zero out of three?"

"Correct," he said bluntly, but his voice softened. "That's expected. This is only day one."

Fang Zhi set down a small jade vial, crimson liquid swirling inside. "For recovery, my lady."

Her father explained, "Scarlet Pulse Circulation. Burn a drop of your blood essence—just one—and guide the heat through your muscles. It will flush away stiffness and speed recovery."

The thought of burning any part of herself made her hesitate. But she remembered her promise—no quitting. She bit her thumb, let a drop fall into her palm, and willed it to ignite within her veins.

A warm rush spread through her limbs, like liquid fire chasing away the ache.

Her eyes widened. "…That's… amazing."

Her father chuckled. "Get used to it. You'll need it every day until your body stops screaming at you."

Yuyan exhaled slowly, looking at the courtyard's training equipment. She had failed every exercise today. But tomorrow, she would fail a little less.
