Chapter 23 - 023 – One-Shotting Krieg, Nami Who Wants to Be the Big Sister!

Wearing golden armor, Krieg shouted at the cooks inside the restaurant: "Hurry up and prepare 100 portions of food for my crew, or else…!"

Krieg gave a cruel smile, hefted a massive war spear that looked to weigh a ton, and pointed it at the crowd from a distance.

The threat was obvious.

The chef was cowed by Krieg's aura and panicked.

"Hey, who are you? Move it—don't block the way."

A curt voice from behind made Krieg frown.

Who doesn't know better?!

He turned and saw one man and four women walking straight toward him.

"Who yelled just now?!" He looked at the five with a hint of contempt.

He was already in a foul mood—someone dared provoke him first?

Do they think I'm Hawkeye or something?!

"Mine, was it?!" Nami planted her hands on her hips, brows arched, every bit as imposing.

"Reno-nii, do you know him?!" Kaya leaned close to Reno and whispered.

Reno glanced once and said offhandedly, "Krieg. The guy with that wreck of a ship."

Huh?!

The girls were surprised, then looked Krieg up and down with interest.

So this is the so-called Overlord of the East Blue—this is what he looks like?!

Nami also froze for a moment, but she wasn't the least bit afraid.

Sixteen million on Krieg? Not even three-quarters of Arlong's!

What a poser.

"You snot-nosed brats don't know your place. Since you know my name, you dare—"

Before Krieg could finish his threat, a long spear wreathed in lightning pressed against his chest.

Nami glared, annoyed. "If you don't want to die, scram. You're ruining my appetite."

Completely uninterested, Reno slipped past Krieg and headed for an empty table.

Kaya and the other girls followed close behind.

The guests who saw this scene had a sudden sense of foreboding.

Krieg trembled with rage. The arrogance—far too arrogant.

As the so-called overlord of the East Blue, on his turf how many dared slap him in the face?!

Let alone taunt him this blatantly.

Unless Hawkeye shows up today, nobody can stop me.

"You little brats—die!!!"

Enraged, Krieg roared and swung his war spear.

"What a buzzkill~" Nami curled her lip.

Her pink fist clenched; a thunder-lance shot out. Lightning, charged with terrifying destructive power, snaked crazily over Krieg's body.

Crackling filled the air. His tall frame convulsed violently.

In no time, black smoke puffed from his mouth, and the war spear clanged to the floor.

"Just as annoying as Arlong."

A whirlwind rose from nowhere, scooped Krieg up, and hurled him more than ten meters. With a bang, he splashed into the sea.

The restaurant fell deathly silent.

One-shotted?!

The Overlord of the East Blue, Krieg, taken out in a single move?!

Every guest goggled at Nami, eyes glazed.

After a long beat, a terrified voice broke the silence.

"Nami—Nami, navigator of the Reno Pirates!"

A guest pulled out the paper he'd bought that very day and carefully compared the woman in front of him to the photo.

Orange hair. Lightning powers.

Matches—everything matches.

If I'm not mistaken…

The guests swallowed hard and stiffly turned their eyes to Reno and the others not far away.

Holy crap!

It really is Reno, captain of the Reno Pirates.

"...!"

A ripple of fear ran through them—the man's bounty was higher than Krieg's. A real monster.

When he realized they'd been recognized, Reno frowned slightly and said calmly, "No need to be afraid. We're just here to eat. We won't cause you trouble."

Then he walked over to that guest. "May I take a look at your newspaper?"

Startled, the guest nodded frantically.

Reno took the paper and turned away.

Seeing that Reno truly meant no harm, the diners finally relaxed and went back to chatting.

After all, pirates eating at the Baratie wasn't unusual.

They just didn't know Reno's temperament and feared he might be as cruel and vicious as Krieg.

From the looks of it, they'd worried too much.

"The Navy moves fast—so quick to issue wanted posters." Reno read with interest.

But soon he frowned.

Reno's reaction piqued the girls' curiosity; they immediately crowded around.

Only Reno and Nami had bounties on the sheet.

[Reno: Captain of the Reno Pirates. Suspected Cloud-Cloud Fruit user. Bounty: 30,000,000 Beli!]

"Wow, Reno-nii, that's amazing," Kaya gave a big thumbs-up, her eyes curving with a smile.

An initial bounty as high as thirty million Beli—plenty of proof the Navy took Reno seriously.

Nojiko and Makino both nodded in approval.

"What about mine—do I have one?!" Nami asked, full of expectation.

She'd taken down Arlong with a 20,000,000 Beli bounty—hers shouldn't be low.

They kept reading.

[Nami: Navigator of the Reno Pirates. Suspected Rumble-Rumble Fruit user. Bounty: 50,000,000 Beli!]

"50,000,000 Beli?!"

"Did I read that right? I'm at 50,000,000?!"

Nami double-checked several times and finally confirmed it.

"Reno, my bounty's higher than yours."

The next second, Nami planted her fists on her hips and arched a brow at Reno with smug delight. "From now on you call me Big Sis."

"It's rare for a crew member to have a higher bounty than the captain," Makino teased for once.

Kaya and Nojiko covered their mouths, snickering.

No wonder Reno's face had gone so dark.

Reno looked at Nami, half-smiling. "Then tonight, how about a little sparring."

Big Sis, huh?

You've got guts.

Let's see who sets the house rules tonight.

Nami flinched like a cat whose tail had been stepped on and quickly begged off. "I respect my captain the most! I was just kidding. I'm not that strong—you're the strongest."

"I'm starving after all that. Let's order already."

Nami hurriedly changed the subject.

Remembering certain terrifying things, the girls all went quiet.

Seeing them yield, Reno let it drop.

He waved over a waiter and ordered a whole table of dishes.
