Ben always felt that Chris was a very important character, even from the information revealed in the previous DLC, 'Not a Hero.'
Chris had accomplished many unbelievable things; his life story was incredibly impressive, almost like cheating. If there was a flaw, it was that his teammates seemed a bit unlucky.
Furthermore, when Ethan woke up, Chris was nowhere to be found at the scene. So, Ben wondered if Chris would also appear as a DLC character in 'Resident Evil: Village.' But he never expected to meet Chris directly here.
However, Chris also seemed very angry seeing Ethan at this moment.
"I told you not to get involved in this! Ethan! You're in the way!"
Chris said, frowning at Ethan, who had been knocked to the ground by him.
He expertly removed the magazine from the handgun he had just snatched.
You think I'm in the way!?
Hearing Chris's words, Ben couldn't help himself.
"Boss! I fought vampires in the castle, battled the doll maker in the mansion, blew up fish in the fishing village, and fought the fan monster for three hundred rounds in the factory. Where were you then!"
In the game, Ethan was the same. Upon hearing Chris's words, he immediately got angry.
"What good have you ever done, Chris?"
"You killed my wife! You son of a bitch!"
Facing Chris with his back turned, Ethan cursed loudly, seemingly wanting to vent all his negative emotions from the past two days.
"You think I killed Mia? That wasn't her!" Chris was silent for a second or two, then turned to face Ethan.
"That was Miranda."
Hearing Chris's words, Ben clicked his tongue.
Just as he guessed!
This was a huge conspiracy. The real Mia had gone missing at some point, and then Miranda had switched places, disguised herself as Mia, and hidden by Ethan's side.
At this moment, Ethan also looked very shocked, as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing: "Wh-what..."
"She's a biological weapon. She changed her appearance to disguise herself as Mia. It seems guns can't kill her, so I came here to end it with her," Chris slowly turned on the lights in the factory. A modified combat vehicle was parked in front of him.
"Bullshit! Then why didn't you just tell me!" Combining the information he had gathered along the way, Ethan was starting to believe it now, but he still couldn't accept the truth.
"Because I knew you'd get involved!" Chris was also getting a bit angry.
"This is already troublesome enough. We don't need a normal citizen interfering!"
Hearing Chris's words, Ben in the game fell into a deathly silence.
He lowered his head, looked at his left hand, which was missing two fingers, then looked at his right hand, which had been hot-swapped. He also remembered his lower abdomen pierced by rebar, his thigh pierced by an arrow, and his four joints hooked by a hook.
What a joke, a normal citizen!
He had already taken down three of the Four Horsemen, and the number of wolf monsters he had killed was countless. Looking at the houses in the village that had turned from red to blue, which one hadn't he looted?
After speaking, it seemed as if the Chris in the game felt he had said something wrong and quietly turned his back to Ethan again.
"Then why us? What is all this about?" Ethan still couldn't understand, as in Ethan's mind, he and Mia were just ordinary, honest people.
"Alright... Ethan... Alright. Maybe I owe you an explanation. Give me that wrench," Chris took a deep breath.
Taking the wrench from Ethan, Chris began to explain the situation while repairing the combat vehicle.
"Long story short, Miranda is a crazy woman. This village and its various deformed monsters are all the results of her... lifelong research."
"This is a very crazy mold experiment."
Hearing Chris's words, Ethan frowned: "Mold? Like in Louisiana?"
"Damn it. All this time I thought I could save my family, and now I can't even escape... Who can I save?"
At that moment, Ethan remembered the incident three years ago and became somewhat dejected.
"It's not like that. Look at this..." As he spoke, Chris threw Ethan a phone.
Ethan looked down. On it was a woman with six black wings: Miranda.
"My people sent me this a few minutes ago... Keep watching."
As Chris spoke, Ethan swiped backward.
He saw Miranda in a scene resembling a graveyard. On an altar in the middle were four bottles containing Rose.
Clearly, this was the ritual Miranda was about to perform.
Seeing this, Ethan immediately panicked: "Rose! No, I have to go stop her quickly!"
"Calm down, my people are monitoring the area!" Chris stopped Ethan.
"But they've captured my child!"
"You don't understand. What can you do alone besides get yourself killed?"
Saying this, Chris pulled the lever of the combat vehicle.
BOOM!
A cannonball blew up the large iron gate.
"I need to stay here and set a bomb. You drive this thing to the elevator, and we'll meet up later."
"I promise, we will rescue your daughter."
"Absolutely!"
Chris returned the handgun to Ethan, saying with a determined expression.
Ethan took the handgun and loaded it: "I'll definitely kill Miranda then!"
"This place is yours," Chris turned and left.
Watching Chris's retreating back, Ben couldn't help but click his tongue.
Why did Chris seem more like the protagonist?
Why was he so calm and cool in such a dangerous operation, so dashing?
However, after a brief moment of admiration, Ben was immediately captivated by the combat vehicle in front of him.
He had initially thought this was just something used in cutscenes.
But what he never expected was that there was an interaction button, and he could actually get in.
And he could even shoot!
And the bullets and cannonballs had a marker behind them: ∞
Infinite ammo!
What is this! Is this content I can experience without spending extra money?
Chainsaws, machine guns, cannonballs, it had everything. This was way more fun than an infinite ammo cheat!
"If I had this tank back when I fought those first three bosses, I would have pulverized them into dust!"
With an excited heart, Ben drove the tank into the elevator and arrived in a huge square.
Heisenberg, transformed into his fully robotic form, descended from the sky.
"Bastard! You're like an immortal cockroach! Do you think you can defeat me?"
"Fine, consider this a warm-up before dealing with that bitch!"
As his words fell, the battle officially began.
Infinite firepower, infinite cannonballs, Ben was simply having a blast.
