Chapter 7 - bronze coin

Chapter 7 .

The old cadger didn't like the words of the young worker. "This foolish man, how dare he speak like this? It seems he doesn't know who I am. I am God's most special one, the one given the responsibility of the God's vessel."

He truly hated anyone who tried to snatch money from him.

He decided to reveal his identity and show the worker who he really was, so that the worker would not forget his limits or cross the line.

But the worker was nonchalant; he knew how to deal with the old cadger. "You are probably thinking of teaching me a lesson. But from the way you are dressed, it seems you are not from Prahavia. Most likely, you are from Yueji."

"It is often not good for people of Yueji to be seen in Prahavia. So, you will not harm me, sir."

"And by the way sir if you don't want to get information you want ,no one will force you sir".

The old cadger grew angry, his finger curling into a fist.

"How dare you? Stay within your limits. If you try to act too clever, there will be no one worse for you than me."

Hearing this, the worker did not hold back in giving his reply.

"Sir, indeed I am poor, and I cannot harm you. But you also cannot harm me."

"Standing on the soil of Prahavia, you cannot break the laws of Prahavia. According to them, no person from Yueji may use their powers against us while standing on this land."

While talking to the worker, the old cadger got an idea that it was not going to work like this, so in the end he agreed, "I will pay you 2 bronze coins."

The young worker was shocked to hear this. "Sir, what are you saying? Only 2 bronze coins? Do you have any idea what you are saying? I cannot agree to that. At least I want 10 bronze coins."

And after 20 minutes,

both agreed on 5 bronze coins.

The old cadger paid him only two coins. "The rest will be given when your job is done."

"Tsk, what a stubborn and greedy old man," the worker thought.

On the other side in land of believes yueji , the priestess had already finished her daily duties.

Nezumi looked at her lady and spoke with concern:

"My lady, you seem too stressed today. You should go and have some rest now."

Baiyu agreed with her, but in her heart she thought, "What happened yesterday is still troubling me, yet I could not even tell her the truth."

Baiyu changed her postion and then she stand .

since morning folding her legs beneath her, and now her feet had begun to ache. Sometimes they even went numb, though by now Baiyu had grown used to it.

But Nezumi did not know how much more time it would take for her to get used to such things.

As soon as Nezumi stood up, her steps seemed to stumble, as if the little rat had turned into a little baby, still learning how to walk.

Just as Nezumi was about to fall, Baiyu caught her in time.

Smiling, Baiyu said,

"Nezumi, there is no need for you to hurry in anything. You should take your time and do everything slowly and calmly."

But after hearing these words, the little rat's face fell. She could not bring herself to say aloud, "I only wanted to move quickly for your sake. I wanted to be your support… but instead, you are still the one supporting me."

Poor Nezumi, unable to refuse Baiyu's helping hand, held onto it tightly and stood up again.

Baiyu left Nezumi and moved towards the door. Outside, the wind carried a little moisture because of the warm water and the absence of rain.

The leaves were dry and golden, yet the trees were still dark green with a forest-like look.

A little rustle came from the bushes.

Baiyu walked towards the stairs, and Nezumi followed her. The priestess stopped halfway, as she sensed something, like a fish sensing the movement of a stranger in its territory.

The moment she stopped, a sudden pebble was thrown towards her, but it did not hit her. She had stopped at the right moment; otherwise, she would have been hurt.

Nezumi was shocked and quickly moved towards Baiyu. "My lady, what happened? Are you alright?"

Baiyu smiled at Nezumi, cupped her cheek, and then moved towards the bushes. She spoke calmly, "Whoever you are, you don't have to be afraid. No one will harm you. Come out."

Still, Nezumi tried to stop her.

The priestess repeated her words.

But nobody came out. This left the priestess with no choice. She moved closer to check, and there she found a boy who seemed to have just reached his teenage years.

Even though her eyes could not see him , it was her senses that had already told her he was there.
