Chapter 10 - chapter 10

"Alright, I've got everything I need, and you guys are all set," I say as I speak with the three people who are seeing me off.

"Yeah, we are good, boss", Chadwick answers for the other two because he's annoyed that I have been double-checking and triple-checking for the past 3 hours.

"Well then, I won't hold you, see ya", I say as I set the coordinates to a random world that the dimensional gate says is safe for me to at least enter.

With a final flip of the main switch (I'm dramatic, so I added a big unnecessary switch for me to pull), the gate makes a thin noise as it sends a receiver past the universal boundary and into the intended dimension before a blue swirling portal opens in the boundary of the dimensional gate.

I give the three automatons a wave as I step through the portal, and after not even enough time to blink, I step onto a grassy field somewhere else.

"I wonder where I am", I say aloud before I hear an incredibly faint voice speak from above me in a way that reminds me of a glitching text-to-speech system.

"New s-sacred gear d-d-detected, logging information in s-s-s-system" The voice gets more and more glitched as it speaks, and I look above me to see what I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to see.

Far above me and past what I think is supposed to be a dimensional wall I can see a massive machine far bigger than I have ever seen or even thought of, far eclipsing even the clockwork planet Y created.

I can see that the machine is built in such a way that seven separate inhabited levels are built both into and around it, and probably used to be perfectly integrated into the processing system, but it seems to have degraded over time from lack of maintenance.

"Then I'm probably in dxd, if this system knows what a sacred gear is, and I heard Eaven was supposed to have a system that apparently slowly broke more and more after god died", I mutter as I continue examining the machine from my position on earth, I'm guessing.

"But why can I hear it?" I wonder out loud as I sit down to think it over before I'm distracted by my charges resetting,. Deciding to test my theory, I put two charges into DxD Heaven's system, and suddenly, I'm aware of why I can hear it.

"So anybody with the ability to either maintain the system or have high enough authority over it can hear its operating system" I decide that's why I can hear it, because I have at least some chance of at least stopping it from breaking more.

"Can you tell me what needs the most desperate attention?" I ask out loud to the system, not really expecting a response from such a distance.

"Angel's subsystem irrevocably damaged, unable to aid current living angels or allow living angels to reproduce naturally" Oh, so the system had a subsystem for managing the angels in case of Gods' death or disappearance.

"How can I help with fixing that component?" I barely got the words out before an elevator smashed into the ground in front of me from heaven.

"Ok, that answers that", I say as I walk into the elevator, and the doors snap shut and then snap back open to show a complete cluster fuck of a room.

"Ah, I see" I say as I spot the main problem almost immediately in the form of most of the room straight up not existing anymore and black flames slowly eating away at what was left if not for what I think are holy water sprinklers constantly dousing the flames just enough for the auto repair to undo any more damage.

"Well, better get to it", I summon my Clockwork planet halo and drop another charge into fictional metallurgy so I can get the full recipe for mystirium before I create a clockwork golem made entirely of the anti-magic metal and manipulate it to start smothering the flames.

It takes a while for me to completely smother the flames, even with mystirium, but when I have finished, I get to work repairing what I can while the auto-repair takes care of anything I ask it to, so as not to overwork the system.

After a full hour of using Clockwork Planet to create all the systems that were destroyed again, but this time from an alloy of holy steel and adamantium for the conductivity of holy power and adamantium's indestructibility, I created a chair from gears to take a seat and ask the system if that was better.

"Angel's subsystem repaired past auto repair's ability, subsystem working at triple original effectiveness. Contacting arc-angel Michael for f-f-f-further aid" I give a thumbs up as I take a break for my headache to settle after using my sacred gear much longer and much harder than usual.

I hear Michael before I see him, as he seemed to be flying as fast as he could here, blasting past any door from the sounds of it, and when he arrives, it's with more joy than I have seen since I started teaching echo and powder.

"Father" he calls out as he comes to a stop and looks around frantically for his father before his eyes land on me and before I can even begin to explain to him why I'm shoulders deep in his father's person project he rushes me and pulls me into a bear hug that almost kills me from how hard he crushes me.

"Wait, wait, stop, I'm human and this will kill me", I call out in between yelps of pain as he continues hugging me while babbling about how much he and his siblings missed his father.

It takes the system of heaven's voice blasting out much louder than normal, a single "STOP MICHEAL" for him to lower me and back away like a scolded child with sad puppy dog eyes.

"Look, Michael, I'm not YHWH, I'm only human, I don't even have any holy mana in my system. I'm just a human with a mutated sacred gear that can help the system of heaven repair itself," I hurriedly say so he doesn't do anything drastic, but when I finish my ramble, he snaps to attention and looks up at the sealing and asks.

"Is that true, mother?" I look at him weirdly for that, but remember that the system of heaven has a whole subsystem to create angels, so I might actually be the angels' mother.

"Yes the holder of Clockwork planet has no relation to the Father and is only helping because of how well the sacred gear is fitted for such a purpose" I notice that the voice is much more like an actual person instead of its almost dead speech patterns from before but I'm guessing the angel subsystem also contains its personality matrix for better communication with the angels.

"Ah, well then, you have my apologies, young ma,n", he says with dignity as if he wasn't just hugging the life out of me and babbling like a child.

"Don't worry about it I get wanting to see your father after he disappeared for so long. But what do I call the system, like does it have a name" if YHWH was the father and Jesus was the son in guessing that the system was the holy spirit.

"Paraclete is her name, and I thank you for your kind words, young man", Michael spoke, and I nodded before asking Paraclete.

"Do you need any more help, Paraclete?" I asked the system because there was no way I was gonna leave such a magnificent machine damaged if it couldn't repair itself.

"There is one more subsystem in need of repair that I can not do myself, the sacred gear system has slowly produced more and more glitches and has started prioritising half-humans for the more powerful gears so they are unlocked sooner" So that means the gear system has at least some level of intelligence if it can prioritise things.

"Sure I can have a look, I don't know if I'll be able to completely repair it as I have much more knowledge of hardware than software"
