Chapter 3 - chapter 3

We spent about a day making sure Chadwick was both safe to himself and others, going over as many different tests both me and him could think of so we where absolutely sure.

When we where I invited him to my shop so he could start doing something other than be prodded and poked, he seemed to enjoy hanging around the area and even decided that he wanted to set up his clinic across the the road from me so he had easy access to both me and my tools incase he needed anything.

When the whole debacle was over with I put my final charge for the week into prosthetics to further my knowledge and what I found was surprising.

The compilation of 5 charges in clockwork world, 1 charge in mechanical engineering and 1 charge in prosthetics combined to allow me to create limbs made entirely from cogs and gears that through an incredibly complex (and robust after having noticed that it was quite easy to break and redoing it sturdier) process would allow its user both actual control via electrical impulses from the nervous system and basic (if only very faded) sense of touch.

I made sure to add my new knowledge of prosthetics to Chadwick's system so he could both do maintenance and fixing any broken parts.

The next week when my charges reset I put 2 into electrical engineering and one into a incredibly small tech base for a single reason, see in the Warframe universe the orikin race had managed to make a perpetual motion machine and see where most races would use that for massive advancements the incredibly petty and stupid orikin instead made them desk ornaments, no I'm not kidding.

So with one charge in orikin perpetual motion machines I had the knowledge to make such a machine but normally you would need the materials used in such an object to be space grade at minimum but I managed to finagle my way past that with electrical engineering and clockwork bullshit.

By using the principles of orikin perpetual motion machines but instead using imaginary gears as a substitute i created a feed back loop where one imaginary gear takes in energy and creates its imaginary space to hold all of that energy while also (through some bullshit even I don't understand) not sending the energy anywhere so I end up with an imaginary space full of energy that didn't exist before.

And while normally this would do any number of things to the wider universe because it flat out breaks the most basic physical laws because I used imaginary gears to create the energy the universe decided that this energy just doesn't exist even if it acts and does all the normal things energy does.

I asked Chadwick if he wanted his imaginary gear to be changed into a imaginary energy gear like I did with the Colchis bull but he decided that he didn't really need it as of now as he gets more than enough energy from his kinetic absorbers.

I didn't push the issue and instead changed courses to my next project, with my last 2 charges I put them into the animals machines from the horizon series so I can start cleaning up the wastes of Zaun.

Because I didn't have the tech base to actually build the really Horizon mechanical animals I instead used the principles from them to create clockwork versions that would do the same job.

As a consequence of using imaginary energy gears as their power source I didn't have a reason to create predator animals to artificially make a lifecycle so instead I didn't bother with making any and focused on making the ones able to help the toxic and most likely cancerous wastes.

The first was the grazer modled after a deer or elk it would act as both a soil revitaliser and toxin remover by picking an area in need of 'cleaning' and through the act of eating either soil or plant life if it existed decide what needed to be done to help the soil to become fertile again then using its array of differing tools built into the mouth and hoofs to do as was needed.

The second was the sentinel made to guard the grazers as they worked it was a mix of the lookout and the herds defender being both incredibly good at finding any sign of danger and being able to defend the grazer herd with their built in jaws and bladed tail.

And for the last of the primary group was the thunderhawk, now this was a son of a bitch to manage as clockwork isn't very good at controlling the electromagnetic spectrum as while it could move or conduct energy all its moving parts (made of metal) would degrade if in prolonged exposure to electrical systems.

So I had to make sure the entire 2 metre wingspan bird was completely non magnetic but also completely isolate the electrical field generators from the rest of the machine while allowing the intelligence behind the animal to still be able to use its electrical field manipulation to find metals and break down harmful elements in the air.

I only created a few and made sure to inforce that every life matted even and especially their own to their intelligence systems before realising a small party of grazers guarded by 3 sentinels and a single thunderhawk.

I directed the herd to an area devoid of people because of how incredibly deadly even just the air was and set the to graze as the pleased, I had no rush and as they were programmed to act like animals treating them badly or even just being rude was a very bad idea.

When I next found the Colchis bull I was honestly not even surprised that he was laying down in the middle of what was most likely an abandoned orphanage that I could see was still occupied by the children that most likely used to live there.

I watched with a small smile as he 'slumbered' (he doesn't need to sleep so he's probably just letting the kids have fun) with a gaggle of kids crawling over him and even a very young child nestled against his chest happily napping.

I decided what I wanted from the big guy could wait and that the children deserve to have this.

As I got home I started a new project and over the next few hours had the basis for a robotic dog line of atomatons based on all sorts of species.

I payed special care to making these robotic companions making sure that they would prevent lose of life as much as they could but would always prioritise the life's of children, I even added a special subroutine that would make the dogs always think of children as friends (unless the child either acts to harm others knowingly or trys to hurt the dog)
