Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 - Pendant

When she entered the house the yelling and vulgar words amplified, as if afraid that the whole village will not hear it.

"WHERE IS THAT USELESS B*TCH NOW? DOES SHE STILL KNOW TO COME BACK? WHO WILL COOK IF SHE DOESN'T COME BACK? DOES THAT USELESS THING STILL WANT ME TO COOK FOR HER?.....,"

Fortunately she went through the other door that is connected to the storage room, or she'll be bombarded by the witch if she used either the front or the kitchen door.

Instead of cooking as what they wanted her to do, she make her way to her room- the storage room- and locked it with a handmade rope she made earlier from a vine.

She have a injured foot, so she can't use her foot too much lest it gets worse; hence, let them cook it by themselves. Moreover, based on the original owner's memories they also didn't let the other 'Yun Tang' eat that much, even if she's the one who cook as the big witch stared at her like a thief.

In fact, even if the other 'Yun Tang' is a thief there's nothing really worth robbing in the house. There's no white grain nor brown rice, but just coarse grain which is really hard to swallow. They don't have a hen, so as eggs. They have a moldy brown sugar at home though, but it was tightly hidden by the witch as if she will steal it.

Yun Tang only snapped out of her thoughts when her eyes inadvertently glance on her bed. Truthfully, she already expected that she will not came back with the room not in tatters. That would be a miracle.

The room was meant to store woods, and other old stuff that the family was reluctant to throw away. The only good thing she have here is a small box that the original owner's mother gave to the other 'Yun Tang' which she hides behind the stacked of woods.

Although it is full of wood and scraps, but the original owner was a meticulous person; hence, it was clean and tidy. As for her bed, it was a stacked of wood with a woven nipa she made on top, a pillow stuffed with hay and a thin quilt that she made out of the family's old quilt and old clothes.

The room that was neat and tidy when she left earlier is now in disarray.

All the things that made her temporary bed- woods, woven nipa, pillow, quilt- was now on the floor. The hay inside the pillow is scattered on the ground. The quilt was cut into several sizes with dirt and footprints on it. The stacked of woods are thrown around the room.

Well, you can tell someone messed up her room with full hatred.

Seeing it like this, TangTang didn't look at those mess, but hurriedly and anxiously walked up to the stacked of woods where she put her small box. The bottom part of the stack of woods is still intact that made her breathe a little. She then look for the small box and finally found it.

It was only as big as a lunch box. It wasn't worth much, but it was only the original owners cherished belongings.

To be sure it wasn't opened or tampered, she immediately opened it and check if the things are all there.

A wooden comb, a pendant, old purse, copper coins, needle and thread and some old papers.

Fortunately, the original owners things are still here.

It was only then Yun Tang feel relieved at last.

'Wait!'

She looked curiously at the pendant in the box.

"Why does it look familiar?"

She look at it with scrutiny back and forth.

The pendant look like a low quality green stone with a unknown flower carved on it. The pendant was only tied with an ordinary worn out rope.

"Ha! No way!" she gasped and covered her mouth in disbelief when she remembered where the familiarity comes from.

"Isn't this the pendant I bought while shopping on the XXXX Street before I time travel here?" she still stared at the pendant unbelievably.

The pendant she bought and the pendant the original Yun Tang owned is similar except that hers was a little shiner and the rope was black.

Questions filled her mind.

Why did she have something that the other Yun Tang also have? Although hers was bought while the other was a heirloom from the originals mother.

Is it only a coincidence?

But she doesn't believe in coincidence. There must be a reason, right?

She thought of a more bolder idea.

Did it followed her here?

Or is it the one that...

She snapped out of her thought when the door was bang followed by a yell outside.

"B*TCH, YOU'RE ALREADY HERE? ARE YOU STILL NOT GOING TO COOK? DO YOU REALLY THOUGHT YOURSELF AS THE LANDLORD IN THE TOWN? DREAM ON!"

Well, well, well. Who would it be if it wasn't her cheap stepsister, Yun Li. The apple doesn't really fall far from the tree. Like mother, like daughter.

She didn't reply and just stood and stared at the door expressionlessly, while it was bang continuously.

"IF YOU STILL DON'T COOK DINNER TODAY, MOTHER SAID THAT SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU EAT AGAIN!" the other person continue to bang and threatened her.

She still didn't budge and remained motionless. Whether she cook, or not they will still not let her eat as punishment, so might as well not cook to save her energy and effort.

The original owner lives in this household all her life and works the hardest, yet still didn't have enough to eat. People in this era usually eat two times a day- breakfast and dinner- and fill their stomach 80% only. But the original owner can only eat a little over 40%-50% of food every time.

Now that she is here she will not live like that, but will work smarter. She also works hard in her last life and where did it get her?

She will cherished her life more than before as it was her second time around. She will not bet for a 3rd chance.

Knowing that the banging and yelling won't stop any time soon, Tangtang immediately hide the small box in it's original place. When she finished hiding it, she rolled her sleeves and started cleaning her room without care to the outside noise.

When she finally finished tidying her room the shout and banging at the door finally stops. She can no longer hear Lili cursing her like a shrew in the village- her mother.

She still didn't try to open the door, nor tried to peek outside though. She didn't know if Yun Lili really stop and left, or she's just waiting outside for her to open the door and drag her to work.

She did it several times to the original owner; however, this time she will not be tricked again.

Anyway, she decided not to work from now on. Period.

Let them cook their own food.

She was right.

Yun Lili was really waiting for her outside the door.

When Lili still didn't see the door opening for a long time, even when she tried to used the usual tricked the door still didn't open. When she tried to bang again she heard her mother called her to cook instead, or it will be to late to cook.

Father Yun will return soon from farming without hot food ready on the table. If that happens everyone will not have a good food to eat later.

Hence, with full hatred she kicked the door, while also cursing Yun Tang.

"B*TCH, YOU SHOULD HAVE DROWN THERE!" she yelled and cursed as she walk to the kitchen without knowing that her unconscious words revealed her.

Listening to the cursing and the yelling earlier didn't make a wave on her, but hearing the last words of Yun Lili made her countenance changed.

So the original owner falling on the river was not an accident but intentional?

No matter if it was an accident, or intentional she will found out sooner or later to give justice to the original owner's death.

Yun Tang silently pondered.

Although she already got the memory of the original 'Yun Tang', but she haven't absorbed all of it yet. Hence, she tried to searched for the memory of the original owner before she fell on the river.

However, the feeling of drowning and suffocation as the OG Yun Tang lose oxygen left a deep trauma on her which made the mind instinctively block it and she can't retrieve any memory from that day.

Yun Tang tried to think further, but her head suddenly ached.

She hold her head for a while until it vanished.

She released a deep sighed.

She can't rushed it. It was only today that she transmigrated and it would take days to fully integrate in this body and world. Not to mention, this body was not fully recovered and still got trauma. She needs to do it step by step.

She decided to put the matter behind now as she can't remember it. She will investigate it slowly to get to the bottom of the OG Yun Tang's death but this will take time. She can't unravel it in a short time.

Without anyone pestering her, she decided to sew her torn quilt and complete it before it gets darks. She doesn't have enough money to buy one now, so she can only make do with it.

Based on her memory it is now in the middle of autumn season, although the winter is still months away the wind is already starting to become quite cold; hence, this torn and worn out quilt is very precious until she get a new one.

She get her small box again where the the needle and threads are hidden.

Yun Tang sat down on her bed and started sewing. She knew how to sew as she was taught in the orphanage household chores and basic stuff like this.

While sewing she accidentally pierce her finger and it immediately bleed. Before she can put it in her mouth, the first drop of blood already fell. It accurately fell on the green pendant that was unknowingly misplace on her lap.

When she's about to wipe it, the blood was immediately absorbed by the stone. The dull looking pendant turns a little luster and from a low quality stone it became a good quality jade.

A priceless jade that no amount of money can buy.

This only took a blink of an eye and Yun Tang swear she didn't blink.

"Is this the Legendary space in the novel that the protagonists acquired?" she mumbled in disbelief with her eyes and mouth wide open while staring at the jade pendant.

To confirm her suspicion, she hold it and waited for it to transport her to another place. To the space.

Yun Tang even ready herself and dramatically close her eyes.

In the novels she have read the protagonists will feel discomfort or dizziness the first time they encounter the distortion of time and space. While others feel nothing and only instantly feel the change in environment in just a blink of an eye. However, hust to be sure she ready herself.

1 minute passed.

3 minutes.

5 minutes.

"..Is it just my illusion?"

But she swear, the jade absorbed the blood. Her blood.

That is how those novel written.

She opened her eyes and pondered for awhile to think of other methods.

'Open'

She commanded it on her mind similar to the novels she read while looking at it intently.

For 2 minutes.

It still didn't worked!

"....Open portal?"

"...Open sesame?"

".....Ancestor, please open the space!"

After a few minutes of try and error, the Jade pendant just lay on her palm quietly.

At this moment, Yun Tang was already doubtful.

???

'Maybe this isn't really a space treasure, but an evil stuff that feeds on human blood?'

Although thinking like this, but she still didn't want to believe that this thing was just an evil's stuff.

Maybe a soft approach is not the way?

"....I will throw you away if you don't open." she threatened it with gritted teeth this time.

If her students saw her like this, they will already behave lest they'll have additional homework, but this is a Jade pendant not her students. Hence, it didn't budge.

After 5 minutes of looking at it like a fool, Yun Tang gives up.

Soft and hard approach doesn't work on it.

'Maybe it was really just an evil thing!'

She pinched it in frustration and was about to put it on the small box when she feel a small tingle on her finger tip.

Confirmed!

'It's really is an evil thing that feeds on blood.'

Although she doesn't really curse, but now she wanted to cursed the 11th generation of the vendor seller who sell this pendant on her.

When she was about to put away the pendant on her hand, she suddenly feel her vision went dim, her head dizzy, and discomfort all over her body. Before she lose her consciousness because of the pain the only thing she can thought was..,

Transmigration and space are real!

Is she secretly a protagonist?

Did she actually transmigrate inside

A book?
