Chapter 161 - 152

When Grimmjow performed the Sonído, the movement of reishi flowed within Yuta's eyes. He could clearly see the direction, shifts, and fluctuations of reishi within every pathway in Grimmjow's body.

With his immense calculation ability, Yuta analyzed it instantly and understood it within moments.

The next instant, something truly shocking occurred for Grimmjow. He had drawn his Zanpakutō and slashed at Yuta, but by the time the blade cut through the air, Yuta was already behind him. Grimmjow's pupils contracted sharply.

What?

Was that… Sonído?

Although he could not see through the human's movements, Grimmjow was familiar with the vibrations of Sonído. He was certain that Yuta's technique was not Shunpo nor Hirenkyaku, but the Sonído of the Arrancar.

Only Sonído produced those spatial ripples, like waves spreading on water.

This was the hallmark of Sonído, and also the reason it could evade nerve detection so easily.

Despite his surprise, Grimmjow reacted quickly. He turned instantly and raised his hand, condensing a Cero at point blank range.

Buzz-!

Red light condensed into destructive power within Grimmjow's palm. A Cero was the Hollow technique of compressing spiritual pressure to a high degree and releasing it in an instant, producing devastating destructive force. It was the most destructive offensive move of the Hollows, capable of razing everything in its path.

Strong winds tore across the battlefield as the Cero charged. Fallen leaves and debris were lifted into the air by the compressed pressure of the attack.

Renji Abarai's eyes widened as he looked up. "That spiritual pressure… it's overwhelming."

The sky distorted under the overwhelming force. Space itself wavered as light converged into a single point. To the observers, all that existed was the radiant red glow of the Cero bearing down on the lone human figure standing beneath it.

"This is a Cero… its power is incredible!"

Kurosaki Ichigo's voice carried disbelief. He had experienced Hollowfication himself and understood the terrifying destructive potential of a Cero. Its only weakness was the charge time, but once unleashed, it moved at a velocity close to light itself and its destructive force could pierce through structures for hundreds of meters, even kilometers.

"Yuta-san! Move!" Hitsugaya Tōshirō called out in alarm from below.

He remembered first encountering Yuta with Kyōraku Shunsui in Rukongai. At that time, they had sensed something unusual about him but had paid it little mind afterwards. Now, seeing him face down a Cero head-on without moving shook him deeply. Even now, he worried that if Yuta did not evade, he would be seriously injured.

Kuchiki Rukia and Matsumoto Rangiku clenched their fists tightly, their eyes fixed on the scene above.

But Yuta did not move to dodge. He stood firm.

He was testing something new.

[You attempt to merge Shunpo, Hirenkyaku, and Sonído…]

Shunpo-the flash step of the Shinigami.

Hirenkyaku-the Quincy technique of gathering reishi under the feet to accelerate movement.

Sonído-the Arrancar technique that manipulated dimensional space itself.

What if all three could be fused?

Yuta's calculations extended endlessly in his mind. He played out countless variations and possible outcomes in fractions of a second. Yet with each simulation, something felt incomplete.

One more element… the barrier technique. If it could be added in…

By then, Grimmjow's Cero had already been unleashed. The blazing red beam tore forward, closing the distance in an instant. Grimmjow grinned, a savage satisfaction spreading across his face as he pictured Yuta incinerated by the blast.

The boy had chosen not to evade at all. Once the Cero was charged, there was no space to dodge. Victory was his.

But in that moment, for Yuta, time slowed to silence.

What happened if speed itself reached its highest limit?

That thought entered his mind, and he answered it for himself.

Yuta raised his fingers and snapped lightly.

The color drained from the world.

Everything turned gray.

0.2 seconds. That was the span of time he had created.

The technique was new, imperfect, but it was enough. In 0.2 seconds, he could rewrite the battlefield.

He stepped forward. Ripples spread in the air as though he walked over the surface of a pond. His movements appeared almost slow to the naked eye, blurred like a photograph frozen in place. In reality, he was moving beyond what perception could track. His speed had pierced the boundary of time itself.

[You combine Shunpo, Hirenkyaku, Sonído, and barrier techniques to develop the Stop Field.]

In that 0.2 seconds, Yuta held dominion over motion itself.

He reached Grimmjow and gripped his shoulder. Then, dragging him forward with controlled force, Grimmjow's body began to fracture under the strain. His skin split apart in jagged lines, and though blood should have poured from the wounds, it coagulated instantly, crushed by the field. His body cracked like drought-stricken earth, unable to endure what lay beyond its limit of speed and stillness. Even Yuta's clothes shredded bit by bit under the burden of the Stop Field's pressure.

Silent. The world had no sound in that moment of suspended existence. Time itself had been stripped away.

Yuta shifted Grimmjow back into place-directly in front of the charging Cero.

In this suspended field, only the Cero still advanced forward, unbound by the disruption of time.

When the 0.2 seconds ended, Yuta released the field. Colors returned to the world all at once. Sound erupted violently as reality caught up with itself.

Crack-!

Boom-!

Grimmjow's own Cero consumed him completely. His form was engulfed in red light, his body flaring under the extreme density of spiritual pressure that seared through him.

His scream tore through the battlefield.

"Aaaaaaahhhhhh!"

Agony riddled every part of his being. His vision blurred, his body convulsed, and pain struck him like a hammer across his bones and organs. His face was torn and cracked from the impact, his limbs burned, his chest and legs trembling under the shredding power of his own Cero. He could not understand what had happened-only that he had cast his Cero, and then suddenly its force was tearing him apart. The space he thought he stood in had been rewritten without his awareness.

The destruction came not just from the Cero itself but from the weight of existing at the threshold between extreme speed and absolute stillness. His body suffered trauma beyond endurance, and even his organs buckled under the pressure, deforming with the force before snapping back, like fragile matter under impossible strain.

His thoughts scattered in chaos.

What was happening?

How did the Cero turn against him?

When had space itself betrayed him?
