Chapter 10 - The other half of her

The next morning when I woke up I saw Rhea standing by the window, her fingers were curled lightly around the handle of a team cup she hadn't taken a sip from in minutes.

There was something different in the air.I reached out, gently brushing my thumb across the back of her hand. "What's on your mind?"

She hesitated. A thousand unspoken things danced behind her eyes. And then she whispered, "There's something I need to tell you... about Eva."

My body tensed for a moment—not out of anger, but uncertainty.

"I didn't lie to you," she continued, her voice barely above a breath. "And I never wanted to hurt you. But before you and I started… I was already falling for Eva. We met during a charity exhibition downtown—her energy just... pulled me in. Like she could see through me."

I blinked slowly, listening, absorbing.

"I didn't expect to fall for anyone else after her," she said, her voice cracking slightly. "But then I met you and I didn't want to fall for you either—it scared me. Because I already had someone. But love doesn't ask for permission, does it?"

There was a long pause. Then she added in an emotional tone, "And now... I love you both. Deeply. Equally. But differently and I want you to think about me not as a cheater."

The air thickened around me.

She looked up. "I know it's not conventional. And I'm not asking you to be okay with it instantly. I'm just asking you to believe me when I say this isn't about confusion or betrayal. It's about honesty. About trusting love when it arrives—however it arrives."

I stared into her eyes, finding no trace of deceit, only the raw, painful courage of someone baring their soul.

After a moment, I exhaled.

And slowly, with my hand still in hers, I nodded.

"Tell me everything," I said softly. "I want to understand... if we're going to walk this together."
