Chapter 244: Blew Up the School on the First Day?!

Trainer Academy – Sunlight Room

Gengar hopped on the floor, handing its Pokédex to the elderly facility manager. Its trainer had always emphasized good manners, so it stood firmly on the ground and handed over the Pokédex with both hands.

"Hello there." The old man smiled kindly. "Where's your trainer?"

"Gengar!" Gengar enthusiastically gestured.

"Oh, so he'll be coming by later? No problem!" The old man chuckled and placed the Pokédex onto the scanner. Beep! His eyes narrowed slightly. A new staff member… but this Pokédex… it was an extremely rare model. "Looks like Principal Samson Oak has recruited an incredible trainer this time," he muttered under his breath.

The Sunlight Room simulated Harsh Sunlight using an artificial sun, perfect for training Fire-type moves. The old man watched as Gengar walked in, leading a small Growlithe. Not even thirty minutes later, just as he was about to nap—"Gengar! (https://www.google.com/search?q=%EF%BF%A3%E2%96%BD%EF%BF%A3)ノ" Gengar strutted out, dragging a singed Growlithe.

"Y-you're done already?!" the old man stammered.

"Awoo! (`0´)" Growlithe wagged its slightly charred tail and let out a proud howl. Hmph! An ultimate move like Blast Burn? A mere trifle! Just give me a hundred days or so, and I'll master it for sure!

"Gengar." Gengar tilted its head. Whose genetics did this little guy inherit? That was such a basic technique—should've learned it in half a day!

"Gengar!" it nodded, then pointed toward the distant Thunder Room.

The old man hesitated before quickly saying, "No problem, I'll open the door for you!"

Meanwhile, Lu Ye glanced at his phone. "Huh? Gengar's already training in the Thunder Room?"

It was break time. Students were gathered in groups, playing Pokémon cards. Many eagerly approached Lu Ye, hoping to add him to their contacts—only to be ruthlessly denied. "Only students with good grades can add me. That's just how I roll."

"Damn it! I have to qualify for the League!" a Bug Catcher clenched his fist.

"Teacher! The card pack drop rates are way too low! Are you sure you didn't tweak the settings?!"

Lu Ye's face twitched. Why do kids these days have so many complaints?!

Glancing at Giselle, who was hunched over, painstakingly copying the chart, he nodded in satisfaction. She might be arrogant, but she's definitely trainable.

Class had ended. His main task had been demonstrating battles using the classroom's simulation system. His airtight defenses, dazzling predictions, and disgustingly efficient strategies left the students in awe. By the end of class, they had already divided into two factions: the "Erika Camp" (mainly boys) and the "Teacher Lu Camp" (mostly girls).

"The reason I made you memorize the chart," Lu Ye coughed lightly, "is because battle strategy is an art of type matchups. But don't treat theory as rigid rules. In the end, everything comes down to real battles." The students listened intently. "And most importantly," Lu Ye smiled faintly, "Trust your Pokémon. If you trust them, they'll respond."

"In short!" he suddenly slammed the desk. "If you have questions, ask Teacher Erika. Don't come bothering me, got it?"

The classroom filled with groans. Meanwhile, Giselle lowered her head and clutched her Poké Ball tightly. Trust… in my Pokémon? Cubone… in the Inter-Academy Tournament, let's prove ourselves to Teacher Lu!

"Goodbye, Teacher Lu!" As the students bid him farewell, Lu Ye waved and headed toward the Thunder Room. Technically, it was only a forty-minute class… nothing could've gone too wrong, right?

Then, he suddenly stopped. Right in front of him—the building had a giant, gaping hole in the middle. It looked like it had been struck by lightning, the edges scorched black. Gengar and Growlithe stood outside, staring at the hole.

"Gengarヘ(;´Д`ヘ)…" (Looks like I'm getting a pay deduction…)

"Awoo! (`0´)" (As expected of me!)

"What the hell happened?!" Lu Ye turned to the elderly administrator.

The old man looked utterly exhausted. Your Pokémon were too strong for the facility to handle… Of course, this was the only possible outcome!

Lu Ye sighed. "Do you have security footage? It's not about compensation—I just want to understand how I died."

On the monitor, the Thunder Room crackled with controlled lightning. Gengar cautiously extended a hand… and froze. That's it? "Gengar!(๑`▽´๑)۶" It began dancing, attempting to absorb a Thunderbolt. Meanwhile, Growlithe started learning Wild Charge, recklessly charging around. And then… the power engine malfunctioned. Lightning surged, turning into a raging storm—and blasted a massive hole through the ceiling. Gengar and Growlithe exchanged looks. Freeze frame.

Lu Ye's expression darkened. First day on the job… and I already blew up the school?! You two really outdid yourselves!

"So… how much will this cost?"

"We'll wait for the principal to decide," the old man muttered.

Principal Samson Oak finally arrived but simply stroked his beard. "Well, we needed new equipment anyway. Blowing it up works too."

Lu Ye teared up. Principal, you're a good man!

He patted him firmly on the shoulder. "Train the students well. If you blow up a few more rooms, it's no problem!"

"Understood! I'll find the best students!" Lu Ye thumped his chest. …Wait a minute. Didn't Giselle still owe him twenty copies of the chart?
