Chapter 17: A Sequel to the Previous Life
Ryū had no idea what happened afterward. Just as Liz thought she was about to die, she found that the first ones to arrive were not members of the enemy Silph Tribe, but members of her own Royal Dragon Tribe.
"Princess! Quickly get away from that Magical Beast!"
"Please go to the back!"
"These damned guys, they actually set fire to the forest, truly despicable and shameless!"
"Kill them!"
The people from the Royal Dragon Tribe chased after the Silph Tribe without a word. Liz only looked up for a moment before shifting her gaze to the lifeless body of the Beedrill.
Afterward, the people of the Silph Tribe fled in disarray, and the fire in the forest was extinguished by the Pokémon. Liz had the Beedrill's body taken back to the Tribe to be properly buried.
A week later, Liz left the Royal Dragon Tribe again, this time with about 30 people by her side. Their goal was also very clear: to go to Mt. Silver to find the Beedrill Family that Ryū belonged to. It took Liz a week to convince her father to trust her, to trust Kikō. No matter what, she absolutely would not fail this time. She wanted to bring the power of the Beedrill back to the Royal Dragon Tribe. Then... Unify the entire region!
In the forest, "Princess, please be careful, there are quite a few Magical Beasts around."
"It's okay, I've basically seen these Magical Beasts; they shouldn't dare to move against me."
Liz was quite confident about this. Because Kikō seemed to be quite famous in this area before, many Pokémon would hide when they saw Kikō. Although she hadn't stayed with the Beedrill Family for long, many Pokémon already knew that the Beedrill Family had gained a strange new family member in her.
Liz led her family members all the way to the vicinity of the trees where she had lived before. However, Liz didn't see the Beedrill or Weedle there. She even climbed a tree to look around but still couldn't see them.
"They..."
Just as Liz was feeling lost, her eyes flashed, and she looked towards the depths of the forest. She remembered that when Kikō took her away that day, the other Beedrill had flown towards the forest.
"We need to go deeper into the forest."
"No way, Princess! It's already incredibly lucky that we made it here safely. If we go deeper into the forest, there's no chance of getting out alive!"
A member of the guards quickly stepped forward to stop her. The deeper parts of the forest had always been a forbidden zone for humans. Only those strong individuals with special powers were qualified to explore the deeper parts of the forest. With their mere 30 people, they would likely be wiped out before they even found those Magical Beasts. This was no different from seeking death.
"Indeed, if there are too many people, the target is too large. Since that's the case, you all go back first; I'll go by myself."
"..." x30
The people of the Royal Dragon Tribe fell silent. The survival laws and social system of the Monster Era were extremely strict and cruel. For these guards to abandon their lord and return to the Tribe alone, wasn't that the same as seeking death? There was no other way. Since returning was also death, they could only risk their lives to accompany their lord.
If Liz really managed to attract some Magical Beasts to fight for the Royal Dragon Tribe, then the other princes and princesses would have no chance of vying for the chieftain position. At that time, those who accompanied Liz into and out of the forest would be credited with assisting the new dynasty, the founding elders of the new era. With this mindset, the group continued towards the deeper parts of Mt. Silver.
A month passed in the blink of an eye. 5 or 6 humans, looking like primitive people, emerged from the forest, covered in dirt. Leading them was a pale-faced little girl. Behind her, in addition to the other five humans, was a group of Magical Beasts. There were 15 Beedrill and 34 Weedle. Leading them was a Beedrill with particularly bright colors and a body size of about 3.5m. That was the new Head of the Beedrill Family, Kikō. In addition to these Pokémon, there were also over 20 Kakuna still in the forest that had not been brought out. An operation would be organized later to transport those Kakuna out.
When Liz returned to the Royal Dragon Tribe with so many Magical Beasts, everyone was invigorated. They also gradually agreed with Liz's statement.
'Magical Beasts can be controlled; they can become our powerful fighting force!'
Time flowed like water. Another 10 years passed since Liz brought the Beedrill back to the Royal Dragon Tribe. In the past 10 years, the Royal Dragon Tribe had grown stronger and stronger with the power of the Beedrill Family. One small Tribe after another in the surrounding areas was swallowed up and merged. The Royal Dragon Tribe also became the largest Tribe in the entire Johto Region, with a population of over 50,000.
In the year Liz turned 18, she naturally became the new chieftain of the Royal Dragon Tribe. At this time, there were already over 500 'Beast Masters' in the Royal Dragon Tribe. These were people who could control Magical Beasts. Following the methods Liz had taught them, they befriended weak Magical Beasts, used food to win their favor, and then brought them back to the Tribe to gradually train them to become strong. Alternatively, they would steal Magical Beast eggs laid by those Magical Beasts, bring them back to try and hatch them, and cultivate a bond from the beginning. This method had become increasingly proficient, and in the future, 'Beast Masters' would inevitably appear on a large scale. It was even possible for everyone to become a 'Beast Master'.
After Liz became the new chieftain, she further began to utilize the various powers of Magical Beasts. These were all experiences she had learned from Kikō. For example, using flying Magical Beasts to transport items, or having some Magical Beasts assist with farming and mining... Of course, the main thing was to invest the power of Magical Beasts into war.
Another 10 years passed. The former Royal Dragon Tribe had disappeared, and individual Tribes were basically rare throughout the Johto Region. There was only one newly established country, known as the Royal Dragon Kingdom. The ruler of the country was Queen Liz, only 28 years old. Thus, the first half of the Monster Era, the 'Tribe Period', came to an end, and the second half, the 'Kingdom Period', began.
The issue of survival resource competition between humans and Magical Beasts was no longer the main conflict. Ordinary Magical Beasts could no longer threaten the powerful Royal Dragon Kingdom. The main conflict became the competition for resources and land between humans and humans. In another area of Mt. Silver, a country called the Earth Kingdom rose strongly. They mimicked the Royal Dragon Kingdom and learned to control the power of Magical Beasts.
And because of the obstruction of the huge Mt. Silver, the Royal Dragon Kingdom had always known very little about what was happening in the other region, and they were unwilling to take the huge risk of crossing the dangerous Mt. Silver. But now it was different. A large road connecting the Kanto Region and the Johto Region appeared in the adjacent mountain range connected to Mt. Silver. This road looked as if it had been carved out by some giant Magical Beast.
However, none of this was important. What was important was that from the moment this road appeared, the Royal Dragon Kingdom and the Earth Kingdom, which had always kept to themselves, could no longer continue to be at peace. Facing the impending war between the two countries, Liz, feeling a bit troubled, decided to go see Mt. Silver with Kikō and Suzume. To go see the place where Kikō was born.
